    Get PDF
Word of Mouth (WOM) is one of the most frequently used term in the modern technology driven society. WOM is a means of direct interaction among consumers, influencing consumption-related decisions. With the massive expansion of internet, social-media and mobile phones, traditional WOM has given way to electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM). The significance of eWOM lies in its availability to a wider range of audience, though scattered geographically, connected virtually. Studies show that eWOM can influence travel-related decisions of potential tourists. Also known as user-generated content (UGC), eWOM available through social media and other similar platforms expands the ability of travellers to gather information, choose destinations and tour related services, understand the experiences of previous travellers and make better choices. Literature evidences show that the impact of eWOM on consumer decision making in tourism is greater than that of traditional face-to-face WOM communication. The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of eWOM message characteristics (MC) on its perceived usefulness (PU) among the consumers, in the context of international tourism. The data was gathered applying a validated survey questionnaire from 833 respondents in the city of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.&nbsp

This research is focused upon the work, education and life of international students and the challenges faced by them. We generally have seen the craze of settling abroad and a special importance given to NRI students. In this research we aim to understand the challenges faced by them. How they hold up on themselves in the new country alone. This research is done through a questionnaire which consist some open ended and close ended questions related to the physical, mental and emotional struggle faced by the students abroad. Few interviews of the parents of students in India were also done and we observe them keenly how they feel living apart from their children. The result of the research was up to the mark of the reality. Students facing financial crisis, homesickness, cultural barrier. Having accommodation issues. Trouble in learning new laws and adapting the new governing system. Struggling between study and part time jobs with drain them mentally and physically resulting in the loss of studies and knowledge. Mental pressure and depression and medication facilities. All these challenges mentioned above are the outcomes of the research.&nbsp

Validating Dalit literature as a tool to awakening Dalit consciousness

    Get PDF
This paper attempts to understand the role of Dalit Literature and unravels the idea of consciousness as an arena for social protest. At the same time, the present study caters to underpin that concept of Dalit consciousness is a socially and culturally constructed reality which expresses, initiates, and engages social protest as a form of empowerment and emancipation discourse. Such social protests become a norm of social assertion for empowerment of the marginalized communities. This is especially the case in a society which is highly stratified in social, economic, political and cultural realms and where this stratification has been maintained through social and cultural engineering of dominationand subordination for centuries. The Dalit community, which has been pushed to the bottom in social ladder in the name of caste and untouchability, has inherently realized its sense of human dignity in recent times and started recapturing its lost identity in and through such protest movements

    Get PDF
Using financial data from rural artisans in India, this research seeks to summarise the issues these small business owners face. The unorganized sector is a major feature of these rural craftsmen. When it comes to preserving India's cultural history, these craftspeople are held in high esteem yet denied access to contemporary technology and financial aid. The Indian economy can benefit greatly from this sector's contributions to employment, rural income, and the purchasing power of rural residents. Craft and handiwork is the second-largest unorganised sector of employment in India, after agriculture, behind only manufacturing. [1] Craft in India is more than just a business; it represents the aspirations and aspirations of the nation's over 23 million handcraft workers. To promote the financial well-being of rural artisans, the government has implemented some economic initiatives

Evaluation of anxiolytic and antidepressant effect of Saraswata Churna in the pilocarpine induced rat model of epilepsy

    Get PDF
The aim of our present study was to assess Saraswata Churna's anxiolytic and anti-depressant efficacy in a Pilocarpine-induced epilepsy rat model. Depression and anxiety are major psychological symptoms in epilepsy patients, and they have a significant impact on health-related quality of life. Many cases of neurological problems have been treated using Saraswata Churna, an ayurvedic medicine. The elevated plus maze (EVPM) was used to assess anxiolytic action, while the forced swimming test (FST) was used to assess antidepressant activity. The EVPM test has been shown to be effective in determining the anxiolytic effects of pharmaceuticals and various steroid as well as non-steroid hormones, as well as identifying the brain locations and mechanisms that underpin anxiety-related behaviour in rodents. Saraswata churna was reported to be effective in reducing anxiety and depression in rats at a dosage of 500 mg/kg.b.w by increasing open arm time and decreasing closed arm entrance in the EVPM paradigm and increasing the duration of immobility in the FST model. As a result, Saraswata Churna could be used as an effective therapeutic agent for anxiety and depression

Effect of Solvent on the absorbance maxima (λmax) of Standard Plot of Thiocolchicoside

    Get PDF
Standard plot of Thiocolchicoside was constructed in distilled water, 0.01M PBS, n-octanol, ethanol, methanol, 0.9% w/v NaCl and mixture of acetonitrile: water (70:30). Peak of stock solution was observed at a particular wavelength (λmax) and various dilutions of that stock solution were prepared and absorbance value of every dilution was observed at that particular wavelength and corresponding to this regression coefficient (r2), slope value (m) of plot and molar extinction coefficient of drug was observed. As stock solution of Thiocolchicoside was prepared in various solvents with different concentration of stock solution at particular λmax value. All the stock solutions of Thiocolchicoside were scanned in UV region i.e. from 200 nm-400 nm

The impact of OSCE test workshop on reducing anxiety in anesthesia and operating room students

    Get PDF
Background: Objective Structural clinical evaluation (OSCE) is newly emerging evaluation methods that has been used in recent years in the medical and paramedical fields. However, one of its disadvantages is that it causes anxiety, which, in turn, reduces the effectiveness of the test. Therefore, the main purpose of the present study was to evaluate the OSCE test familiarity workshop effectiveness on test anxiety in anesthesia students and operating room of Ilam University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Methods: This research was of quasi-experimental study nature performed on 72 students who were studying anesthesia and operating room. In doing so, the students in each class were randomly assigned into control and intervention groups. Then, a workshop was held one hour before the test to familiarize students with OSCE stations, how to ask questions and how to answer students in the intervention group. Then, the Spielberger questionnaire was also completed. Besides, data analysis was performed using SPSS 21 statistical software (Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The highest frequency (52.77%) was related to anesthesia participants, of whom 58.33% were girls. The mean score of anxiety before the intervention was 48.15 7 7.15 which decreased to 30.80 98 6.98 after the intervention (P <0.042)

The human brain is a complex structure having a plethora of functions. The human beings utilize their brain according to their need and requirement. Any injury or disease, whether caused due to degeneration or the mishap (Road traffic accident, fall from height) may lead to ischemia or necrosis of the neurons. The death of the neurons, may affect the productivity of the specific functions of the brain and likewise the overall performance of the person. The white and gray matter are present in the brain. The gray matter forms the outline of the brain, whereas the white matter forms the inner part. The white matter consists of axons of the nerves. The white matter got the name as the nerves are covered by myelin sheath. Leukoaraiosis is the condition where there are abnormal changes in the white matter of the brain. This condition is generally seen in aged people. On CT scans, leukoaraiosis appears as hypodense periventricular lesions of white matter. Leukoaraiosis is a feature of the arterioles cerebrovascular pathologies that lead to stroke, including hypertensive arteriopathy, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and CADASIL.&nbsp
