Embedded platform based heart murmur classification using deep learning approach
Ubiquitous Perturbations in cardiac auscultation properties, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are widely recognized. In the auscultation procedure, the appearance of pathological cardiac murmurs is linked to heart disorders. A noble automated detection system using 1-D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for the detection of pathological heart murmurs is proposed in this study, which removes the difficult task of extracting and selecting features. It directly acts on the phonocardiogram (PCG) signals. The fundamental purpose of this research is to develop a classification model for consistent recognition of cardiac murmurs when the data-set is imbalanced. In view of this, the proposed study for the imbalanced data-set incorporates the Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) approach to generate synthetic data for the minority class. The outcome analysis illustrates the positive result in the identification of heart murmurs on both balanced and imbalanced data-sets. Therefore, the developed deep learning model will learn better from the minority class and classify heart murmurs accurately
Prognostic implication of serum Alpha-fetoprotein response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in Hepatoblastoma patients
Objective: This retrospective study aims to identify the early changes in serum alpha-fetoprotein levels (AFP) and their correlation with the survival outcome of hepatoblastoma patients. Materials and Methods: A total of 68 patients presented to the children's cancer hospital Egypt and the national cancer institute from January 2013 till June 2016 were included in this study. Results: AFP level was measured post-cycle 2 in 60 patients; 44 (73.3%) patients showed a decline in AFP level by >1 log reduction. The 3-year EFS was 75.6% for patients with >1 log reduction in AFP level, compared with 36.5% for those with <1 log reduction (p=0.010). The 3-year OS’ for patients with >1 and <1 log reduction in AFP level were 80.4% and 39.4%, respectively (p=0.005). On multivariate analysis; Patients with AFP log reduction< 1 had worse OS/EFS with hazards ratio (HR): 3.9 and 95% confidence interval (CI):1.4-11.2, p value=0.011 and HR: 3.2 and 95% CI: 1.3-8.9, p value=0.013 respectively. Conclusion: The ease of AFP determination makes it a valuable tool that could be routinely used to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and predict the survival outcome
Effect of handgrip exercise on QTc interval during different phases of menstrual cycle
Menopause is a major change in a women’s life, it refers to a permanent cessation of menstruation and fertility. The fast face of modern life has induced many problems like stress, anxiety, insomnia etc. associated with serious health problems. The most common disorders associated with menstruation among younger women are dysmenorrhea, pre-menstrual syndrome, menorrhagia, metrorrhagia. Aims and Objectives: To record the effect of handgrip exercise on QTc and RR interval in different phases of menstrual cycle and to compare with the baseline ecg values. The study was conducted on 40 medical (I MBBS) students from Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, Mysore. In this study a total of 40 female students aged between 17-19 years from 1st MBBS studying at Mysore Medical Collage and Research Institute, Mysore were selected as per the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Informed consent was obtained from each student. Data about the duration of previous two menstrual cycles and the days of menstrual bleeding were noted from the subjects statement. Subject monitored basal body temperature was used to identify phases of menstrual cycle. Ovulation was indicated by a sustained increase in the basal body temperature of at least 0.3°C after LH surge
Vehicular pollution in Jammu city: Implications on environment and health
There is a close relationship between environment and life because destruction of the environment would lead to the destruction of all the living creatures, including human beings. Regrettably, recent years have witnessed an unprecedented industrial and technological advancement which on one side may be of great benefit for human welfare but has brought in its wake colossal problem of environmental pollution. The dawn of the 20th century brought a new kind of air pollution in its wake due to the modernization of the transportation system and the large-scale use of petrol and diesel as fuels. Motor vehicles are a significant source of urban air pollution and are increasingly important contributors of various anthropogenic pollutants having deleterious effect on environment and human health. The vehicular pollution assumes special significance in Jammu city owing to constant increase in level of air pollutants resulting in its categorisation under ‘non-attainment’ city and a rapid increase in the fleet of vehicles moves in and around the city. Numerous national and international studies revealed the growth of diseases in the last few years, and the impact on life expectancy rate of Jammuites due to breathing polluted air
Mathematics of coalescent gene trees
Using the coalescent process continuously until all the lineages have become one, we get different possible gene trees. In this paper I had computed the probabilities of such different gene trees that occur depending on the way lineages can form. In particular I had shown the probability of any 3 sample gene tree is 1/3 and for four samples resembling caterpillar gene trees the probability is 1/18 and probability for any balanced gene tree with 4 samples is 1/9. I have also proved a theorem providing the number of ranked gene trees. This estimate will help us to determine the probability of any gene tree

Psycho-autistic trauma of laura deighton in torey l. hayden’s overheard in a dream
Laura's autistic son Conor, whose ramifications have caused so much suffering, has irreversibly upset her. This paradigm commonly use theories of trauma's influence on the human psyche to examine an individual's experience of a collective traumatic event in a book, making a link between people's experiences and cultural groupings, or between the personal and public worlds. Trauma is an incomprehensible occurrence that shatters identity and eludes normal remembrance and narrative representation, and it has impacted the psyche of Laura, the protagonist. Conor's mood swings and oddities cause chaos in their lives, and they can't seem to get away from them. Conor's emotional instability eventually leads to her turbulent existence, which has an emotional and psychological consequence that cannot be rationalized. The narrative swiftly transitioned from a clinical case study of an autistic kid to a weird dream world in which the child's mother lived as a youngster. Torgon, her fictional character, is characterised by her awestruck visions, which cause her to get increasingly excited. Her strange behaviour was prompted by her recollections of her children and the sorrow of their existence.

A study of women's self help groups in Solapur district
Despite the multidimensional growth which India has achieved still, his concerns remain relevant even today. In India women constitute about half of India’s population of 1.2 billion, they are largely excluded from participating in economic activities and decision-making, as well as access to resources of health, nutrition, education, etc. This exclusion and discrimination is reflected in low female labour force participation rates, with India recording a meagre 22.3% in 2021 in comparison with 30.3% in 1990. In the context of increased importance being given to innovation, technology and self-sustenance, especially in a post-covid era, economically weaker sections have faced an acute loss of jobs and income. Even though women have the potential to contribute to household finances, they often do not have the agency to participate in decisions related to avenues of income generation, thus many a time pushing their families to the brink of poverty. In a country that is at the cusp of a rapid transformation in terms of evolving employment opportunities, urbanization and innovation, female participation in the economy remains crucial to where India stands globally. Even though working women account for approximately 432 million, about 343 million are not in paid formal job roles or work
