Juvenile delinquency in India: Causes and prevention
In India, juvenile delinquency is a major problem that has ruined the lives of many young people. Juvenile criminality and related issues have a variety of effects for adolescents, their families, and society as a whole. The issue affects more than just crime victims. It does, however, have consequences for the juvenile delinquents household, career, and society at large. Victims of youthful delinquency are the most obvious victims. The most serious consequences of juvenile offences are socioeconomic and psychological issues that affect their family members and society as a whole. Juveniles participating in robberies, rapes, and assaults are sometimes significant because of psychiatric issues. Juveniles become accustomed to consuming alcohol or other substances as a result of their illicit actions. This study's main purpose is to look at the psychological and legal aspects of juvenile delinquency. The researcher has also thrown light on different judicial framework of Juvenile delinquency and the claim of juvenility with different case laws following with the conclusion
Evolution of serum carcinoembryonic antigen in head and neck carcinoma patients
Background: Malignancies of the head and neck region are top five leading cancer sites in India. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), which belongs to a family of related cell surface glycoprotein’s, is the most often utilized tumor marker in the clinical practice. It is a tumor marker for colorectal, gastrointestinal, lung, Head & Neck, and breast cancer. Aims and Objectives: The present study was planned to evaluate the levels of CEA in patients with head and neck carcinoma. Materials and Methods: In the present case control study, serum CEA was determined in 50 Head and Neck cancer patients and 50 age matched healthy individuals were taken as control. Diagnosed cases of Head and Neck cancer age above 18 years were included and patients on chemotherapy and radiotherapy and patients after surgery were excluded from the study. Results: On comparing serum CEA levels with control group, a significant increase in serum CEA levels was noted in cases (2.70±1.71) ng/ml when compared with control group (1.90±0.57) ng/ml. Conclusion: Evaluation of CEA at an early stage of cancer can be helpful in predicting its prognosis and hence guide the treatment protocol
Evaluation of some of chemical and physical properties and some nutrients in the soils and water of Bahr al-Najaf Depression-Iraq
This study was conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Environmental Sciences - College of Science - University of Kufa, with the aim of measuring the chemical and physical properties of soil and water in the Bahr Al-Najaf depression. Samples were collected in October 2021 from three different sites with three replicates for each site. The results showed that the water in all sites were alkaline, with the highest value for site 2 of third replicate which pH reach 10.5, while the lowest value was for site 1 ,pH was 9.6.The electrical conductivity was the highest in the first and third site that reach 9.76 ms/cm,while the lower in site 2 which was 8.68 ms/cm. .The temperature was within the average (28_25) Celsius. The results also showed an increasing in salinity in sites 1 and 3 by 7.3 mg / l, and decreasing in the concentration of salts that was observed at site 2 of 5.5 mg / l. This study found a decrease in the nutrient concentrations in the water samples of Bahr Al-Najaf, where the highest concentration of NO3 was 0.86 US/l, and the highest concentration of PO4 was 0.248 mg/l.
Does nasal morphology gets affected by growth pattern, skeletal malocclusion and gender dimorphism in an individual in north Indian population: A cephalometric study
Background: Orthodontic patients primarily seek treatment for aesthetic reasons and due to paradigm shift from hard tissue to soft tissue, nasal morphology with associated structure present in the middle third of face has drawn attention. Hence the retrospective study compared and correlated parameters between nasal morphology and gender dimorphism, skeletal pattern and skeletal malocclusion. Preorthodontic cephalograms of 180 patients were randomly selected following exclusion and inclusion criteria from North Indian population. Cephalograms were divided into three different groups according to various skeletal growth pattern, gender dimorphism and skeletal malocclusion and were further correlated with nasal parameters of each sample groups. Results: The results stated that there was a statistically significant correlation and differences were found between nasal parameters such as NLth(p=0.005), NTP(p=0.004) and skeletal parameters in males and females The results also explained that nasal parameters showed significant correlation with skeletal parameters among various growth pattern. There was statistically significant difference found NLth(p=0.035) and NTP (p=0.029) among growth pattern. On comparing nasal parameters in different classes of malocclusion, nasal parameter LNLA seems to be affected in all the three classes. Conclusion: The study concluded that nasal parameters get affected by growth pattern, skeletal malocclusion and sexual dimorphism in an individual
Implementation of health services policy related to treating the problems of mental disorders in the city of Padang Panjang, Indonesia
This researcher uses the perspective of implementing the problems approach introduced by Edwards III in 1984. The data analysis method in this study is qualitative with a descriptive analytic approach. This study uses primary data and secondary data where data collection is carried out through field studies and literature studies. As for taking samples using a purposive technique. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the communication carried out by the Padang Panjang City Health Office is effective. When viewed from the human resources in terms of quality and quantity is still not sufficient. On the aspect of disposition, it can be said that all of them are positive without any resistance. In doing services in the health sector related to handling mental disorders, the Padang Panjang City Health Office does not yet have a standard operating procedure. In this study, researchers provide suggestions that Padang Panjang City Health Office to improve human resources and budget resources. In addition, the researchers also suggested that the Padang Panjang City Health Office immediately make standard operating procedures in giving health services related to the handling of mental disorders
Efficacy of combination of multinutrients in reduction of sperm DNA fragmentation
High Sperm DNA fragmentation can cause decreased fertility & implantation rate or can cause Recurrent implantation failure and if fetus born then can lead to Genetic abnormality in the fetus such as Down Syndrome, Edward syndrome or Patau’s syndrome. The objective of the study is to combine the peripheral data of the patients to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Combination tablet in reduction of Sperm DNA fragmentation index. The result shows that the factors affecting the DFI .The Institutional Ethics Committee approved the study procedure (Ref No: SRMC/RP/4505)
Pilate mat exercise versus muscle energy technique on chronic non specific low back pain
Background: Many studies have been performed to evaluate the best physical therapy technique for treating chronic nonspecific low back pain. Pilate exercises and muscle energy techniques showed favorable results in many trials. Yet, no comparisons were conducted to compare their effects. Purpose: To compare between the effects of pilate mat exercise (PME) and Muscle energy technique (MET) on pain intensity, functional disability, trunk range of motion, and flexibility in patients with chronic non specific low back pain. Subjects: seventy-eight patients diagnosed, by their orthopedist, with chronic non specific low back pain participated in this study. Methods: Patients were divided randomly into three groups: Pilate group: consisted of 29 patients who received PME and standard treatment, MET group: consisted of 29 patients who received MET treatment and standard treatment, Control group: consisted of 29 patients who received standard treatment only. Interventions were performed for 12 sessions (3 sessions/ week) over a period of four weeks. Outcomes were assessed at the beginning and at the end of the fourth week using visual analogue scale for pain intensity, V-sit and reach test (VSR) for flexibility of hamstring and lower back muscles
Analyzing the spatial interaction between industrial land uses and the environment using the DPSIR framework
The spatial interaction of using industrial land and the ecosystem is characterized by its complexity and land size. While some cases show a positive impact, others have a completely negative impact on the environment. Most importantly, on several occasions, these interactions do not have a direct consequence until after an extended period of time. Therefore, in this paper, we address the framework of driving force, pressure, state, impact and the response (DPSIR) of the environmental assessment systems for sustainable development. In this paper, we also demonstrate how the electric power production affects the ecosystems. Furthermore, based on our findings in the research paper, we suggest sustainable solutions that will limit the damage caused by these interactions
Problems of migrant construction workers during COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown
The migrant workers in the construction industry also suffered during the pandemic period as like other sectors. The study analyses the problems and solutions offered in a 360o angle. The migrants were also locked without job, wages, without enough freedom. They observed such a grave condition with their responses .The study revealed that they were well protected with food, accommodation, money for needs even though they were not regularly paid and no work sites were opened. They are less concerned about them, very few opined about their fear about death, too. But the family, employers, and the society were concerned about their well being. The study hints the future scope to conduct such a study in other segments other than construction industry
A comparison of the physical and chemical properties of wheat and barley flour, and their products
(Tiry) Bread is a type of bread produced in northern part of Iraq (Kurdistan Region), and the normal Tiry bread is produced only from wheat flour. In this research, we have used wheat flour mixed with barely flour for both flour type, and we applied several chemical tests that include (moisture, protein, Ash, and wet and dry gluten). After making the Tiry bread by the flour, we have also applied some tests (texture test, color test, starch damage, and water absorption) in quality control laboratory at Halabja Technical College of Applied Sciences, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, in 2021. In the experiment we have applied, the results showed that the highest ratio of moisture is (14.8 %), while the lowest ratio of the Ash of WFT is (0.490 %). Then, the highest wet and dry Gluten of BFT ranged between (29.63 % - 10.22 %), and the highest starch damage percentage of BFK (8.660 %), while the highest percentage for the moisture for all bread tests of BB sample is (12.130 %), and the highest value of the bread for the hardness in WB is (285 g), and the lowest hardness for BB is (85 g)
