Islamic Boarding Schools’ Educational Response to Roblox Addiction Among Qur’an-Memorizing Students
This study aims to analyze the negative impact of Roblox games on students who memorize the Qur'an and the preventive measures implemented at Al Masthuriyah Islamic Boarding School. Using a qualitative case study design and data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model, this study identifies three levels of Roblox playing intensity: low, moderate, and high. Students with low intensity play for 30 minutes to 1 hour, 1–2 times a week, as entertainment after memorization, with Islamic content options. The moderate group plays for 1–2 hours, 3–4 times a week, for online relaxation and socialization, while maintaining a balance between worship and academics. Meanwhile, the high group plays 2–4 hours or more almost every day, disrupting memorization time, congregational prayers, and sleep. Negative impacts include decreased memorization recall due to excessive stimulation, time management issues, and exposure to content contrary to Islamic values, such as inappropriate avatars, magic, or immoral interactions. The boarding school responded with a comprehensive strategy: gadget regulations based on age and memorization performance, access restrictions limited to Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, support for teachers, and digital literacy based on Islamic values. Students are taught the dangers of addiction from a Sharia perspective, such as wastefulness and negligence. These findings provide a technology management model that can be replicated by Islamic boarding schools
Family Involvement in Strengthening Character Education: Integrating Sundanese Values and the Merdeka Curriculum
This study aims to analyze family involvement in strengthening character education through the integration of Sundanese cultural values within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 2 Cibodas, Cimahi City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and an intrinsic case study design, the research involved four months of participant observation, in-depth interviews with 15 parents, 6 teachers, and 10 students, as well as document analysis from school and community sources. The findings reveal that family involvement in character education remains limited due to economic constraints—41.2% of parents earn IDR 1–2 million per month—and long working hours, resulting in a 34% rate of student indiscipline. Sundanese values such as silih asih, silih asah, and silih asuh serve as moral anchors but have declined by 40% due to digital media exposure. The integration of the Merdeka Curriculum through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project offers an opportunity to revitalize local wisdom via a hybrid collaboration model between families and schools. Theoretically, this study extends Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory by incorporating digital literacy and school infrastructure as mediating variables, while practically proposing a local-culture-based family–school synergy model to reinforce students’ character development in urban setting
The Transformation of Moral Education Through Strategic Management Based on Islamic Values
This study examines the strategies and implementation of Islamic character education at Madrasah Aliyah Asshidiqiyah Karawang, with a focus on integrating Islamic values into the curriculum, teaching methods, and school culture. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings reveal a holistic approach that integrates Islamic values into both academic and extracurricular activities, such as project-based learning, congregational prayers, dhikr (remembrance), and social service programs. Teachers serve as primary role models, supported by parental involvement and school policies. Despite challenges like limited teacher training, external environmental influences, and less-than-optimal parental participation, the character education program significantly improved students’ discipline, honesty, and social responsibility. The study concludes that Islamic character education is effective when implemented comprehensively and collaboratively among schools, teachers, and families. It recommends enhancing teacher training, strengthening community partnerships, and conducting ongoing evaluations to ensure the program’s sustainability and success
From Fear to Fun: Exploring the Experience of Edutainment-Based Arabic Language Learning at Islamic Universities
This study aims to explore students' views on the integration of edutainment in Arabic language learning at Islamic colleges, specifically at UIN Walisongo Semarang. Using a qualitative approach, this study collected data through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and observations, and applied triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model—covering reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing—to obtain a systematic understanding of student perceptions. Findings indicate that edutainment is implemented through three main strategies: interactive digital media, Islamic-context role-play, and the integration of arts such as songs and calligraphy. This approach successfully increased students' interest, confidence, and affection for Arabic, while reducing learning anxiety and creating an inclusive and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. The majority of students responded positively because this method was considered to facilitate understanding and reduce boredom, although some provided critical feedback to ensure that academic aspects were maintained, while a minority were sceptical about its effectiveness in mastering advanced grammar. The main challenges include resistance to a learning style that is considered too relaxed and technical constraints in the use of digital applications. The success of edutainment, therefore, depends heavily on balanced learning design, lecturer responsiveness, and adequate technological infrastructure support
Preventive Health and Islamic Family Values: The Role of Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Immunization in Promoting Sakinah Families
A harmonious family is a family that can maintain peace and is based on love (mawaddah) and affection (rahmah). One of the main purposes of marriage is to continue the lineage, maintain human dignity, and foster a quality generation. Tetanus toxoid (TT) vaccine immunization injections for prospective brides play an important role in maintaining the health of the mother and fetus from tetanus infection, which can cause disability and even death. Indirectly, tetanus toxoid vaccine immunization injections sociologically have an important correlation in forming a harmonious family. A harmonious family is not formed automatically, but is the result of various interrelated factors that are continuously maintained. The combination of religious values, psychosocial stability, health, economy, and social support greatly determines the success of forming a harmonious, loving, and compassionate family. This study uses a quantitative approach with a mixed methods method, namely a combination of numerical data analysis and qualitative exploration, in order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being studied. The main focus of this study is to examine the relationship between the implementation of TT vaccination injections and the formation of a harmonious family, accompanied by interviews and observations to explore the supporting factors that influence this correlatio
Konsistensi Ideologi Pendidikan Agama Islam Di Tengah Perubahan Kurikulum Pendidikan Di Indonesia
Islamic education ideology is a systemic concept based on the Koran, al-Hadith, and ijtihad which aims for the happiness of human life in this world and the hereafter. The curriculum includes material from religious studies (aqidah, syari’ah, and morals) as well as general subjects such as mathematics. The methods used are classical and modern methods. Meanwhile, conservative educational ideology places more emphasis on conventional teachings which assume that everything humans do is God's will. The curriculum places more emphasis on moral aspects and the methods used also tend to be conventional, such as lectures. This is different from the ideology of liberal education which prioritizes individual freedom to develop educational concepts. The curriculum places more emphasis on practical matters and the teaching methods are free to suit individual wishe
Budaya Unik “Munggahan” Menjelang Bulan Ramadhan Di Kabupaten Subang Jawa Barat : Studi Antropologi Al-Qur’an
This research examines the development of the Munggahan tradition in the Subang region of West Java. Munggahan is a tradition of welcoming the month of Ramadan that reflects the values of gratitude and gotong royong in Sundanese society. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, involving field observations, literature studies, and interviews. The results showed that the Munggahan tradition includes several processions such as grave pilgrimage, padusan (holy bathing), eating together, and sidekah (tahlilan). The spiritual and social meanings contained in this tradition include expressions of gratitude to Allah SWT, respect for ancestors, and strengthening social ties within the community. However, research has also revealed a decline in interest in this tradition, especially among the younger generation, due to the influence of Westernization and technological developments. Nevertheless, the values contained in the Munggahan tradition are still considered relevant in the context of modern life, especially in strengthening social solidarity and the cultural identity of Sundanese society. This study concludes that despite the challenges of modernization, the Munggahan tradition still has cultural and spiritual significance for the people of Subang, West Java
