    Effects of Coronavirus Pandemic on Education in Algeria: Challenges of Transition to Online Education

    This study investigates the effects of coronavirus outbreak on education and the challenges of transition to online education.based on information reported in different studies about the effects of coronavirus pandemic on education as well as information and statistics obtained from the Algerian government and Algerian ministry of health, we have applied a theoretical analytical approach.The coronavirus outbreak poses serious concerns to global education systems. Because school closure was a strategic measure to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, Algeria, like many other countries, has temporarily closed all educational institutions (schools and universities). The use of technology, in such situations, to support teaching and learning has become an essential skill. So, all educational institutions, educators, and learners must adopt technology, and improve their digital skills, in order to mitigate the effects of coronavirus on education

    Compensatory health beliefs and their relation to health self-regulation, the idea of health promotion is set from the philosophy that good health and outcome of the accumulative personal achievement. It includes, on the individual run, developing the health habits at an early stage. This study predicting of panic disorder with outbreaks of New Coronavirus' Health Risk in Algeria has greater attention should be paid to psychological crisis intervention among affected populations, developing health includes an intervention system aiming at helping people perform healthy practices and change those practices that damage health. Literatures indicate that individual when performing an unhealthy practice; this refers to certain health problem for example; Panic Disorder (PD) of outbreak New Coronavirus (COVID19) would lead to a change his behavior and activities a compensatory for the unhealthy behavior.The sample included 300 Underwent quarantine with suspicions of infection who participated in this study treatments of Etiological beliefs about Panic Disorder (PD). Regression analyses revealed that sex, duration of PD and Positive psychological condition, Negative behaviors that increase outbreaks (COVID 19), and Etiological beliefs about Panic Disorder (PD). Results are preliminary and further research is needed to understand more the factors that etiological beliefs about Panic Disorder (PD) resulting from outbreaks infection of new Coronavirus (COVID 19) uses Health Belief Model (HBM).In addition, the study draws important implications on others affected to overcome any psychological difficulties through using the health belief model

    Theory of mind and Down's syndrome

    This study focuses on the social skills of subjects with Down syndrome. More specifically, it is interested in the link between the theory of mind and the adaptive behaviors (CSA) of these subjects. To carry out the research, the sample consisted of 38 Down syndrome subjects including 12 children and 26 teenagers. Adaptative behavior was assessed through VABS (Vineland Adaptative Behavior Scale) . Meanwhile, theory of the mind was evaluated by two tests namely, the place change test and the Smarties test.The results highlight impaired spirit theory performance in Down syndrome 21. The latter have different skills depending on their Vineland score "average CSA vs. severe CSA". Also, the results were not the same if one takes into consideration the chronological age. Teens were the ones who got the best scores

    The study aimed at revealing the levels of smartphone addiction among students of Sultan Qaboos University and its relationship to some variables.The study used the descriptive approach. A questionnaire on smartphone addiction has been applied on a stratified random sample of 849 students, 48.8% represented the males, and 51.2% were females.In addition, interviews were conducted to support the quantitative data collected through the questionnaire.The results of the study showed that the percentage of smartphone addiction among university students is 33.1%, and ignoring the harmful effects of the smartphone was one of the most common symptoms among students. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between university students in smartphone addiction according to sex, study discipline and family income. There is also a statistically significant relationship between addiction and academic achievement

    The present study allowed to carry out a qualitative assessment of the nursing care activities of the Covid-19 department of Akloul Ali Hospital in Akbou.An analysis of the activity made by direct observations describes the dimensions of the organization of work which are decisive for the activity of nursing. Interviews were carried out with ten nurses to identify situations of overflow to which nurses are exposed and to show the impact of these situations on risk-taking.The results showed that the actual design of tasks, the organization of working time and the organization of the workplace are determining dimensions for the activity of nurses within the Covid-19 service. They have also shown that overflow situations have arisen when prescribed injunctions collide with real injunctions and real determinants; which leads to a breach of the rules as a lever to manage certain crisis situations and exposes nurses to various risks

    the purpose of this study is to know the effect of the Covid 19 pandemic on the degree of apparent anxiety in university students, who return to their university after an interruption of more than 9 months due to the fear of outbreak of the epidemic, and this despite the fact that the number of detected cases continued to increase, which led to a kind of tension and anxiety among the students.The methodology used is the descriptive approach. The field study was conducted on a sample of 324 students from Mouloud Mammeri University from different disciplines, where the Taylor Apparent Anxiety Scale (translated by Mustafa Fahmy) was usedm.The results of the study showed that the students have a high degree of anxiety, especially With the increase in the number of detected cases and the number of deaths and the fear of the second wave of the pandemic and the development of the virus

    Learner Autonomy in Distance Learning under the Circumstance of Corona virus: Challenges and Opportunities

    After the spread of Corona virus, the Algerian government like many other countries has closed its universities. This crisis has led the ministry of higher education and scientific research to adopt online-courses. Formal learning has, most of the time, been associated to inside classroom practices and activities; however, little attention is given to learning outside the classroom in the absence of the teacher.Thus, this paper attempts to explore the effectiveness of distance learning as an alternative option to cope with this unprecedented situation and to develop learner autonomy. Two questionnaires were administered to 22 teachers and 72 students at Ahmed Zabana University of Relizane-Algeria- via email and Facebook. The respondents of this research include 10 teachers and 38 EFL students.Results have shown that though distance learning is an appreciated method to make students experience autonomy during this time, it is still difficult and challenging due to students’ psychological instability, teachers’ lack of online teaching experience and bad network quality
