Basic education plays a key role in shaping the character and quality of human resources. As the initial stage of formal education, elementary school plays a strategic role in preparing students for the next level of education. This study aims to analyse and determine the effect of teacher professional competence, and to identify which dimension of teacher professional competence has the most significant effect on improving the academic performance of public elementary school students in the Bulu district of Rembang regency. This study employed a quantitative, correlational research approach. The study population comprised 156 teachers, with 118 teachers being selected at random using the proportional technique. Data were collected via closed questionnaires. The questionnaire instrument includes 25 statements based on the Likert scale and has been proven to be valid and reliable (Cronbach's α ≥ 0.7). The results showed that the questionnaire instrument was valid (R-count > 0.3) and reliable (Cronbach's alpha = 0.894). The data are normally distributed and there is a positive, significant relationship between teacher professional competence and school academic quality (r = 0.627, Sig. = 0.000). Regression analysis revealed that a one-unit increase in teacher competence improves academic quality by 8.52 points (R² = 0.393). The linearity test confirmed a linear relationship, showing that teacher professional competence has a significant effect on academic quality. This study concludes that teacher professional competence is a key factor in improving basic education quality. It is recommended that teacher training is strengthened, academic supervision is improved, and learning innovation is encouraged. Other variables, such as student motivation and leadership, should also be considered in future research

The phenomenon of bullying shows the degradation of attitudes, character, and morals of students that deviate from the values of Pancasila. Pancasila Education as Civic Education has a very important role as a subject that is oriented towards shaping the character and identity of the Indonesian nation. The research aims to develop a Learner Worksheet based on the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-Create) model, integrating bullying prevention activities for elementary school students. With an R&D approach based on the ADDIE model, the draft student worksheet is validated by experts (PPKn lecturers, educational psychologists, elementary school teachers, and RADEC experts). RADEC-based student worksheet for the prevention of bullying in elementary schools has met the validity requirements based on quantitative and qualitative analysis. The Gregory validity coefficient of 0.85 indicates that this instrument is feasible and can be widely implemented in elementary schools, with the potential to become a systematic and reflective character learning medium. Student worksheet that have been validated can be used as the main media in thematic learning, character education, or violence prevention activities in schools. Teachers can use this worksheet as a reflective learning facilitator that encourages students to recognize the social situation around them, build inclusive dialogue, and foster the courage to report and resolve conflicts peacefully

Labor Dynamics: The Influence of District Minimum Wage and Inflation on Employee Turnover in West Java’s Manufacturing Sector

    No full text
This study examines the effects of district minimum wages and inflation on actual employee turnover in the manufacturing sector of West Java, Indonesia, during the post-pandemic period of 2022–2024. Using a panel data regression approach with fixed effects, the research analyzes data from 27 regencies and cities to assess how economic variables influence labor mobility. The results show that both district minimum wage and inflation significantly affect turnover rates. While higher minimum wages are associated with lower turnover—supporting efficiency wage theory—the positive coefficient for inflation indicates that rising prices erode real income, leading to increased turnover. The simultaneous significance of both variables reflects a complex interaction: wage increases can enhance retention, but their effectiveness is undermined when inflation outpaces nominal gains. This finding aligns with dual labor market theory, suggesting that minimum wage hikes may shift manufacturing jobs closer to the conditions of primary labor markets, though inflation can reverse these gains. The study concludes that to maintain workforce stability, wage policies must consider inflation-adjusted income levels. Policy recommendations include developing inflation-sensitive wage adjustment mechanisms, offering inflation-indexed compensation packages at the firm level, and implementing worker training programs to strengthen resilience to economic shocks. These measures aim to balance wage growth with purchasing power and mitigate the destabilizing effects of labor turnover in the region’s manufacturing industry
