Erfolgsfaktoren von Change Management in Zeiten der Corona-Pandemie anhand des Fallbeispieles einer IT-Unternehmensgruppe
This master thesis deals with the topic of "Success factors of change management in times of the Corona pandemic based on the case study of an IT corporate group". The case study offers valuable insight into a change process for the introduction of an ERP program in several companies of the group.
Subsequently, it will be presented why this topic seems to be particularly relevant nowadays in an ever faster changing environment. Furthermore, an overview of the current theoretical state of research is given regarding the topics of change management as well as critical success factors in a change environment. This information represents both the starting point and the foundation for the case study which serves as an empirical test for the identified success factors.
The implementation of the ERP software "SAP - Business by design" in the IT group of companies brought about a fundamental change in the organizational structure and in the processes. Business processes were redefined, which, of course, had an enormous impact on the employees in the company. They had to learn to think in terms of holistic processes in order to understand the new workflows and accept substantial changes. For this very reason, communication played an important role in this change management process and was a key success factor in the implementation of the software.
To understand what other factors made a major contribution to organizational change, the aforementioned change management process is analyzed in detail. The case study is based on an analysis of internal company documents as well as qualitative interviews with employees from different parts of the organization - people who made the decisions, people who implemented the change und people who were everyday users of the new software. Mayring’s methodology for qualitative content analysis is used to analyze the collected data of these conversations and the results are presented according to different categories. Additionally, a thorough analysis of the responses as well as a synthesis with theoretical models is carried out and leads to new insights what other factors played an important role in the change process and why they were of importance.
In addition, the analysis of the case study addresses the effects of the corona pandemic on the change process and how lockdowns and home office impacted change communication. Finally, the collected findings are incorporated into a systematic change management approach and points of interest for further studies are stated.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Wie das digitale Kollaborationstool Microsoft Teams die Zusammenarbeit in kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen verändert
The digital transformation is fundamentally changing the way we communicate and socialize, both in our private lives and at work. In this context, professional coordination and team processes are increasingly taking place via collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
The goal of this master thesis was to identify possible improvements in the introduction and deployment of collaboration tools in small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, a systematic literature research on the topic of digitalized collaboration was conducted. This was followed by a quantitative empirical study among employees. On the one hand, the survey asked about the degree of digitization at the respective workplace and the individual level of knowledge. On the other hand, the questions were aimed at gradual satisfaction with the Microsoft Teams toolbar.
The following three conclusions can be drawn on the basis of the study results: First, employees primarily expect the tool to offer them added value. The video meeting function achieved the highest level of approval with regard to practical simplification in everyday work. Secondly, companies should use Microsoft Teams especially when and where several of the core functions are missing in the current workplace design. Thirdly, collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams can also offer added value if employees were already satisfied with the internal coordination and decisionmaking processes before the introduction. Dissatisfied employees are gene-rally more skeptical about digitally driven change. However, binding usage rules can contribute to a more positive user experience.
Microsoft Teams itself is a universally applicable tool. The survey underscores the impression that many employees are open to digital collaboration. Frustration and disappointments in practical use have less to do with the actual design and user-friendliness of Microsoft Teams and more to do with the existing shortcomings in companies. This makes it all the more important for companies to create structured and inclusive framework conditions for all stakeholders when implementing a collaboration tool like Microsoft Teams.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Analysis of Greenium in European Bond Market
The modern business environment is characterised by highly dynamic micro- and macroeconomic factors. Securing a long-term competitive advantage is vital to function effectively under such circumstances. In recent decades, a new category beyond the well-known technology or production advantages has appeared on the horizon that can effectively support the process of building a long-term competitive advantage. The aim of this thesis is to examine if the fact of issuing green bonds by companies generates financial advantages for them. The analysis is done by conducting qualitative and, afterwards, quantitative research. The literature research shows the steadily increasing importance due to legal changes in this area, which will happen in the European Union. Also, because of this fact, it is expected that the number of issued green bonds will increase from year to year. The empirical part of this thesis examined if green bonds are exhibiting lower yields compared to their counterparty conventional bonds without the “green” component. The investigation was done on two samples: the supranational European Investment Bank-issued bonds and bonds issued by corporate companies active on the EU bond market. The research was done by estimating the yield curves for green and conventional bonds for both data samples and, consequently, by analysing their differences. The yield curves were estimated using the Nelson-Siegel and Svenson method for estimating term structure. Small, insignificant differences were found for the year 2022, which, however, do not significantly influence the financial attractivity of green bonds.

While SMEs tend to focus their digital transformation strategies on economic objectives, developments in the corporate macro-environment are calling for a value-oriented rethink. Corresponding guidance for the required change is provided by the Industry 5.0 concept, which aims to strike a balance between digitalisation, human centricity, sustainability and resilience. Building on the European Commission’s implementation activities, the Austrian funding programme KMU.DIGITAL could play a key role in the national introduction of this value-based concept.
In view of the above, this master thesis aims to devise recommendations on how to tackle a value-oriented (re-)alignment of KMU.DIGITAL. This assignment is based on literature research that focuses not only on the Industry 5.0 concept itself, but also its enablers and the implementation measures taken so far. In order to transfer these findings to the funding programme, a method triangulation is pursued. In a first step, the current relevance of the Industry 5.0 concept within the KMU.DIGITAL strategic consultation process is examined on the basis of quantitative research. In a second step, 20 qualitative expert interviews are conducted in order to assess how the concept could be promoted in future KMU.DIGITAL programme phases and what role consultants could play in this.
This master thesis provides evidence for the implicit application of the Industry 5.0 concept at KMU.DIGITAL. So far, however, the relevance of human centricity, sustainability and resilience during the strategic consultancy seems to depend on the individual background of the consultants. In order to anchor the concept in a standardised way, it is recommended to develop both value-oriented funding criteria and a guiding framework such as the SDGs. As the promotion of Industry 5.0 triggers a systemic change (in values), an incremental approach is advised since this would allow the consistent involvement of relevant stakeholders and the implementation of accompanying measures to enhance its acceptance. Moreover, the mediator role currently taken on by KMU.DIGITAL consultants should be utilised and reinforced.
Although this thesis concludes that the explicit use of “Industry 5.0” is not suitable for strategic digitalisation consultations of Austrian SMEs under the given circumstances, it indicates that the underlying value-oriented approach is almost indispensable. Taking the example of KMU.DIGITAL, the recommendations for the implicit promotion of the Industry 5.0 concept show how the value-oriented (re-)alignment process of digitalisation funding programmes can be gradually implemented and incorporated into strategic digitalisation consultations by building on existing structures. Furthermore, the master thesis provides suggestions on how to harmonise value-oriented funding criteria for digitalisation funding programmes and support co-operation across programmes beyond the (supposed) limits of digitalisation.
