Die Möglichkeiten von KI im Bereich der Supply-Chain-Cybersecurity in der deutschen Automobilindustrie
This thesis has attempted to answer the following research question: What possibilities exist for AI in the area of supply chain cybersecurity in the German automotive industry that may assist in developing preventive measures to identify risks in time? For this purpose, the thesis was divided into several sections: a systematic literature analysis following Webster & Watson, a theoretical part, and an empirical (qualitative) survey. The subjects of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and artificial intelligence in supply chain cybersecurity were examined. Subsequently, developments in the German automotive industry were presented in order to put the collected findings and conclusions in a context that would serve to answer the research question. According to the experts and the literature, AI will speed up and optimize the process of interconnectivity and automation, even if it involves certain risks. In the automotive industry in particular, the use of AI along the supply chain is already well advanced, even if the technology itself is still new and not very mature. Advances in computing power, accelerating data analysis, reducing sources of error, and improving cybersecurity are definitely arguments in favor of implementing AI. The benefits outweigh the disadvantages, according to the literature and the consulted experts: AI-powered supply chains have the flexibility to adapt and respond to changes in the product mix or unforeseen events by integrating data on advertising campaigns, prices, and even weather forecasts in near real-time. The risks and concerns mentioned, but also opportunities and potential, also apply to the automotive industry. Data can be processed more quickly, resources and costs can be saved, errors avoided. AI can optimize cyber security by recognizing, calculating, and analyzing potential risks at an early stage. This means that cyber-attacks can be thwarted before they even happen. Risks that can be calculated can be localized more quickly and accurately. In addition, due to the analysis of large amounts of data, models can be calculated and forecasts can be made that are far superior to those of a human, according to the conclusions reached over the course of the thesis.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
„Clean Meat“ : kann Fleisch aus dem Labor die Fleischindustrie transformieren und die Welternährung angesichts wachsender globaler Herausforderun-gen revolutionieren?
The present study aimed to investigate the potential of Clean Meat, also known as in-vitro meat, as a sustainable alternative to traditional meat in terms of resource usage and impact on the planet and human health. Through a thorough analysis of current literature, it was found that Clean Meat has significant advantages over traditional meat in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, land usage, and water pollution. Additionally, the technology has the potential to minimize animal suffering while also improving human health. The master thesis also investigates the potential of clean meat to transform the meat market and examines whether it can be aligned to the concept of disruptive innovation or creative destruction.
The literature review analyzes the concepts of sustaining and disruptive innovation, the Innovator's Dilemma, and Schumpeter's theory of creative destruction. Based on these concepts, the study identifies clean meat as a potential example of a disruptive innovation that challenges the conventional meat industry. However, several obstacles still need to be overcome before Clean Meat could replace traditional meat, such as competition on price, scalability, and regulatory acceptance. There-fore, the study also delves into the topics of public acceptance of Clean Meat, and the need for political, economic, technological, ecological and sociocultural requirements that need to be met in order for it to become an substitute of animal-based foods.
In conclusion, it is evident that Clean Meat represents a promising solution for a more sustainable future and has the potential to transform the meat industry, but more research and development needs to be done to overcome the obstacles that are still present before Clean Meat is able to replace traditional meat.
In the context of this work the effectiveness of the European Semesters has been evaluated, hence the results of two member states, namely Austria and Italy have been analyzed and compared. The effectiveness of the European Semester is described as the ability to ensure compliance with the country specific recommendations. Therefore, the evaluation of the country specific recommendations for both countries have been investigated in order to examine the performance of the two case studies in the past. It has been shown that the effectiveness has been rather low for Austria as well as Italy. With a new instrument, namely the Recovery and Resilience Facility, coming into the European Semester in 2021, there was hope that the performance of the European Semester would improve greatly. Within the scope of this work the potential of the Recovery and Resilience Facility to ameliorate the effectiveness of the European Semester has been researched. Based on the External Incentive Model influence on credibility, benefits and political costs have been examined. The results show that the Recovery and Resilience Facility offers an enormous potential in terms of improving the general effectiveness. This can mainly be attributed to the given benefits, as well as the increased credibility.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202

Führungskompetenzen
The world of work has always been subject to constant change due to technical developments, demographic change and other influences. Over the centuries, the industrial revolutions have repeatedly reformed the world of work and working conditions and created new opportunities. These changes have accelerated in recent decades and also influence the methods of human resources management and the necessary skills of managers to ensure successful leadership.
The rapid development in technology and the resulting new possibilities result in new challenges in the way of working and the working environment that should not be ignored. The economic success of a company can often also depends on whether and, above all, how quickly it can adapt to the new conditions and methods in the field of "New Work", because employee satisfaction is still a significant factor in increasing corporate productivity.
The tasks and demands on management have therefore not only increased but have become far more complex. It takes a lot more than just expertise or a charismatic personality to be a successful leader. In order to find good employees and keep them in the company, it is necessary for team leaders to recognize and support their needs for an optimal working environment.
Digitization has made work easier and more flexible and independent working, but at the same time it has also created new risks and fears. In addition, the spread of the Covid-19 virus and the associated pandemic have posed new challenges for the private lives of citizens in Austria, as well as for everyday working life and companies. In compliance with adapted and sometimes very restrictive working conditions, not only did the health of the employees have to be protected, but work operations also had to be maintained at the same time.
The term New Work and related aspects such as home office, virtual meetings and video calls have become standard in almost every company within a very short time. However, that alone is not enough to claim that New Work has been successfully introduced - this also involves changes in terms of employee management, culture, hierarchy structure and many other factors.
The aim of this master's thesis is therefore to question the management methods in the Austrian private sector, considering today's working world 4.0. Furthermore, the focus should also be on the challenges of human resources management during the Covid-19 pandemic, and it should be determined which measures are necessary in order to act in a success- and future-oriented manner - even in times of crisis.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Einfluss von Crowdsourcing auf angestrebte Ziele
The aim of this master's thesis is to conduct a survey on the influencing factors of crowdsourcing in profit-oriented companies and to shed light on whether the academic literature correlates with practical implementation or yields novel insights. The interviews will be conducted with individuals who have participated in such crowdworking operations or have previously practiced this working model, in order to ascertain experiences and attitudes regarding the business model.
To adequately address the research question, a distinction must be made among the influencing factors before, during, and after the crowdsourcing process. In this context, the phases of crowdsourcing, which is outlined by literature, play a significant role, as they distinctly outline the organizational effort and coordination aspects. Prior to implementation, clients must engage with the strategic question of structuring. To establish a regulated crowdsourcing workflow and diminish the potential for unforeseen events during the process, certain mechanisms must be defined within the management process for regulating and sanctioning as necessary. Following the conclusion of each crowdworking process, it is essential to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and identify the potential for reducing transaction costs and addressing information asymmetries.
Although the working model brings various benefits to both companies and crowdworkers, understanding the motives of the crowd is necessary to ensure effective incentive systems, task assignment optimizations, and long-term collaboration. Ultimately, this understanding also contributes to better alignment between the company's goals and the participants' expectations, leading to successful crowdsourcing initiatives.
Despite comprehensive precautions taken for all influencing factors, certain information-related advantages for the crowdsourcees still exist during the crowdsourcing process. For this purpose, the crowdworking process was analyzed based on “transaction cost theory” and “principal-agent theory”, followed by an empirically investigated interviews involving seven experts. As a result of this work, it will be evident that the factors mentioned in the theory correlate with the insights derived from the empirical examination.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
"The Great Resignation“ - Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten des Retention Managements
The Great Resignation is a current phenomenon in which a large number of employees are quitting their jobs. It is particularly relevant to the topic of employee retention, as it highlights the challenges that employers face in retaining their workforce. With the job market being more competitive, employees are seeking better work-life balance, flexible work arrangements, and a sense of purpose and connection in their work. To address these challenges, employers need to prioritize creating a positive and engaging work culture that supports employee well-being and provides opportunities for growth and development. They should also offer competitive compensation and benefits packages and invest in employee training and development. Ultimately, employers who are able to adapt to the changing needs and expectations of their employees will be better positioned to retain their workforce in the face of the Great Resignation.
The aim of this thesis is to show the effects of the many resignations that have occurred in recent years. It also shows how employers deal with them and what measures they take. The thesis starts by presenting the great resignation phenomenon, continuous to the reasons and explanation of the phenomenon and highlights importance of retention management.
The theoretical part presents the four aspects of employee retention according to Gartner. The qualitative part uses the method of expert interviews to assess what companies understand by these aspects, how they put them into practice and whether they do anything different from what is described in the theoretical part. The results shows how Austrian companies are dealing with the increasing number of resignations and what measures they are currently taking in order to retain their employees.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Hybrid Leadership : die Veränderung von Führung im hybriden Arbeitssetting
The work environment is in a state of transformation which has been driven even more strongly in recent years by the covid pandemic. Hybrid working is becoming more and more standard in many companies. This new working model also affects and changes leadership. This master's thesis aims to investigate how leadership in hybrid work settings is shaped, what challenges but also opportunities arise, and what measures support managers in hybrid leadership. Within the framework of guided interviews with experts, seven managers were interviewed on their experiences with leadership in hybrid settings.
Based on the literature and empirical research, the author concludes that leadership in the hybrid setting is demanding and that managers need certain competencies to a greater extent. These include trust, communication skills, and digital competencies. Working in separate locations creates new challenges for managers. Personal contact becomes less, communication is difficult and the boundaries between work and private life become blurred. Nevertheless, there are also positive effects that come with hybrid working, especially more flexibility and higher job satisfaction. To support managers in their leadership, measures such as coaching and trainings are needed to help them meet the requirements of the hybrid setting. Furthermore, companies can help to make hybrid working easy to implement by providing the necessary framework and equipment. This also helps to support hybrid leadership.
The economic crisis triggered by the Corona pandemic showed the impact of such a crisis on companies and on their employees. The occurrence of such an enormous change in the economic environment confronts companies with challenges that cannot be surmounted. This has consequences such as dismissals or short-time work. This master’s thesis deals with the preparation for such crises in relation to human resource management. This starts with the recognition of an impending crisis-like situation. With a planned early crisis detection, signs should be correctly interpreted to be able to prepare. Furthermore, this thesis deals with strategic human resources management to prepare the human resources apparatus for economic changes in the long term. The work deals with strategic personnel planning and personnel development. The second part of this master’s thesis deals with the connection between strategic human resource management and the effects of the Corona crisis on employees. By an empirical data collection and its evaluation, the effects of strategic human resource management on the crisis security of the staff are examined. With a quantitative data collection using an online questionnaire, 250 employees were asked about their impressions of the effects of the Corona pandemic and human resource management in their companies. Furthermore, persons responsible for the implementation of human resources planning were asked. These data were compared and checked for correlations. Three hypotheses were formulated, which are described in more detail in this paper and examined for their validity. Tendencies were found that companies that placed a high value on strategic human resource management came through the crises better. However, only a few of these correlations were actually significant. For this reason, although tendencies could be identified, the correlations could not be clearly confirmed due to the lack of significanceMasterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
