Die Rote Armee Fraktion : Terrorismus der 1970er Jahre
Violence in its various forms and expressions has always been a theme in human history. Particularly the most brutal form is terrorism. The issue of terrorism in the latter decades was mainly associated with Islamist terrorism and Al-Qaeda. Due to the constant media presence of Islamist terrorism, other terrorist movements and motives were increasingly forgotten. The planned paper deals with the terrorism of the 70’s tries to recall them again. The terrorism of the 70’s is mainly connected to the left terrorism. Dealing with this topic first requires clarification of terms or delimitation of related expressions. Primarily, this involves distinguishing the terms “terror” and “terrorism” from one another. The term “terror” represents methods of state reigns of terror against its own population or certain groups of citizens. Thus, the concern is from a “force from above”. However, when one speaks of “violence from below” i.e., violence by social groups against state authorities, one speaks of “terrorism”. The subject of this paper is the left terrorist organisation, which was active in Germany from 1970 to 1998, the Red Army Faction-RAF. The aim is to give the reader an overview of this Red Army Faction within the planned work, starting with the description of the political and economic context that contributed to the emergence of the organization until its demise in 1998. In other words, this paper deals with the attempt to reconstruct the history of the RAF. It will take the reader through all phases of the organization starting with the first generation and will try to compare the motives of the other two generations to the first. When it comes to the RAF, everything revolves around the three generations, which are described in detail in this paper, including all the main documents, representatives, and actions.
The planned paper deals with the following research questions:
1. What led to the radicalization of the 1968 student movement and the emergence of the RAF?
2. Why did the history of the RAF span three generations and were the motivations the same in each generation?
Which will be answered in the last, fifth part of the paper.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Digital Leadership - Führung im digitalen Zeitalter
This master thesis describes the challenges faced by leaders in the digital age. Newly developed leadership concepts such as Digital Leadership and Leadership 4.0 are examined to gain insights into how these challenges can be overcome in the digital age in combination with the COVID-19 pandemic. Leaders face challenges to recognize digitalization in their environment. The process of digitalization is continuously advancing. The demands placed on executives are also changing along with digitization. The rapid pace of technological development poses major challenges for executives. This master's thesis is concerned with highlighting the challenges faced by managers in the digital age. Newly developed leadership concepts such as Digital Leadership and Leadership 4.0 are examined to gain insights into how these challenges can be met in the digital age in combination with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on a literature review and empirical qualitative research using 6 interviews with experts, the challenges leaders face in the digital age are discussed. It also examined how leaders need to respond to challenges and what competencies are needed to successfully shape the digital transformation.
The result shows that executives are confronted with challenges of digital transformation, globalization, new communication culture, changing values and new ways of working. To respond to these challenges, leaders need the right competencies. Leadership in the digital age should be characterized by a low-hierarchy innovation culture characterized by collaboration, transparency, agility and openness.
Circular economy in the fashion industry
The linear economy has created unsustainable systems within the fashion industry. The depletion of natural resources and global, complex supply chains among many other factors are becoming an increasing risk for business. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF) (2017) estimates a EUR 100 billion worth loss of materials each year as a consequence of the current wasteful, linear fashion system. Short-term business models like fast fashion will soon become unsuccessful and unprofitable, hence obsolete. It is questioned whether the current system will be able to support the demand of future generations in a world dominated by global warming and climate change. Within a Circular Economy, companies could tackle many problems of the current wasteful linear economy. There already exist several guidelines and frameworks for circular design for fashion. One of these frameworks was chosen to conduct further research and formulate concrete recommendations for Austrian SMEs in the fashion industry. The circular design for fashion strategies by the EMF were introduced in 2021 and represent a starting point for creative professionals in the industry. It is challenged whether they contribute to a Circular Economy and if and to what extent they are established in the target group. This paper explores Circular Economy in the fashion industry with a focus on circular fashion design. The findings of the research are concluded in recommendations on how SMEs in the Austrian fashion industry can contribute to a CE by circular design.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Arbeitskräfteüberlassung als Alternative zum Inhouse-Recruiting
Temporary work is one of the employment concepts used by both companies and employees. Staff leasing is not only used in Austria, but also in other European countries. The concept of temporary employment looks back on a long history and extends to the present. For these reasons, the relevance of the topic in society and the economy is given, which leads to understand this concept in detail but also to survey the current state regarding the experiences that entrepreneurs make.
The present scientific work deals with this concept. The aim of the work is to find out to what extent temporary employment is used in Austria and how the experiences are currently or were in the past. The specific research question is therefore, "To what extent are external personnel services such as temporary staffing used by companies and to what extent do the services of personnel consultants fulfil the current requirements and expectations of customers?"
In order to answer the research question, experts were interviewed on the topic within the framework of qualitative research. The research interest lay in which experiences entrepreneurs have made with personnel leasing and for which reasons this form of employment is used in the company. The study therefore analyzed reports on experiences, reasons and attitudes toward temporary employment.
The results showed that temporary staffing is still relevant and necessary. Flexibility, coverage of order peaks, quick reaction times as well as additional recruiting tool are terms which emerge in the context of the study.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
Chancen und Handlungsempfehlungen im Social-Media-Marketing mit Facebook und Instagram für kleine Weingüter in Deutschland
This thesis discusses the opportunities and recommended actions in social media marketing (SMM) on Facebook and Instagram for small wineries in Germany. Research in this area is needed as there have been no scientific studies so far on how small wineries in Germany in particular can benefit from SMM. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to identify main opportunities, recommended actions and trends in SMM for small wineries. For this purpose, the thesis will explore the following research question and subsequent questions:
– Research question: What opportunities does SMM offer small wineries in Germany, especially when using Facebook and Instagram?
– Subsequent question 1: How important is the development of a SMM strategy in order to take advantage of the opportunities offered by SMM?
– Subsequent question 2: What kind of actions can be recommended to small wineries for them to benefit from the opportunities offered by social media, especially by Facebook and Instagram?
– Subsequent question 3: What future trends in SMM for small wineries can be expected?
In order to answer the research question and subsequent questions, a literature review and empirical research in the form of qualitative semi-structured interviews with three marketing experts and two co-owners of wineries are conducted.
The results show that small wineries in Germany use Facebook and Instagram for marketing purposes and can benefit from the advantages of SMM in the same way as medium and large wineries, especially if they pursue a specific strategy for this. This thesis provides small wineries with specific recommendations and identifies trends for the implementation of SMM. As a result, this thesis offers new insights into SMM used by small wineries in Germany.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 202
