Christliche Unternehmensführung als Erfolgsmodell
The given thesis deals with the topic of religious business administration and has the purpose to find out, if such an approach can be successful according to various indicators of success. It is written from a business perspective but also includes theological aspects. Due to the fact, that Christianity is the most widely spread religion in Europe, this thesis is only dealing with Christian values. Therefore, two scientific questions will be answered. The first question is: “Is Christian business administration a model for success?” and the second questions: “In which business areas is such a model useful?”. The thesis is separated into four parts. The first part is an introduction to the topic and lays out the relevance of such an approach. The introduction is also concerning ethical issues of the past years. The second part deals with theoretical background regarding business administration and displays the connection between a sustainable approach, as well as the importance of values for successful business administration. In the main part of this thesis Christian business administration is described by its values and explained how its done. E.g. How to be a leader. To compare the literature with practical experience, five interviews with Christian business owners have been accomplished. The results of this thesis are given the fourth part. The conclusion is, that Christian business administration can be a model of success because it includes many factors which are relevant for current market needs. For example, the stakeholder value approach which improves the business results. Still, there are also some negative aspects of the model, which can actually lead to the very opposite result. For example, when a company is referring to the labour law of the church. Regarding the second question, Christian business administration is useful in human resources and leadership. The thesis also gives the opportunity for further research regarding the importance trust in a business world.Masterarbeit Wien, Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 201
Im Wartezimmer der EU: eine Analyse des Annähe-rungsprozesses der Türkei mit vielen Fragezeichen
The following master thesis deals with the relations between the European Union (EU) and Turkey. The Turkish efforts of becoming a member of the European Community already had their origin in the 1960’s, nevertheless the country still hasn’t finished its accession process. Since the Ankara Agreement 1963 the de-velopment of the Turkish approach towards Europe is characterized by ups and downs. In this regard military coups in the 70’s and 80’s should be mentioned, which led to partial abruptions in Turkey-EU relations. On the other hand Turkey managed to accomplish diverse reforms concerning economic, political and judi-cial modernization processes in recent years. The EU honored these achieve-ments by initiating accession negotiations in 2005. Nevertheless, at the present time, the development of the negotiations proceeds protracted due to consecutive deficits of Turkish human rights and rule of law.Nowadays Turkey finds itself in a strategically important position. With its borders to regions known for their critical political situation, for example Syria with the on-going civil war in connection with the current refugee crisis or Iraq with increased terroristic activities, Turkey has to react responsively to these incidents. At the same time the European Union, formerly established as a peace project which managed to successfully unite the European regions, is confronted with se-vere challenges. On the one hand, Europe still suffers from the consequences of the economic crisis 2008/09 with massive debts of certain countries, on the other hand Europeans demand that the Union deals properly with the current inflow of refugees.Globalization in connection with the actual worldwide occurrences demonstrates a certain dependence of the EU on Turkey and the other way round. Due to this fact the main objective of this thesis is to identify the sectors crucial for the relations between these two actors. Hence, analysis based on the parameters economic relation, energy supply, safety policy and internal/external platform will enable an overall picture of the two actor’s ties. Furthermore, the question of which form of European Integration related to Turkey would fit best to satisfy the interests of both players will be put in the spotlight within this thesis.Thomas KotzianMasterarbeit Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 2016 Fachbereich: Politikwissenschaf
Kundenanforderungen an den Service Level in der chemischen Industrie
The chemical industry is a key industry in many developed countries. As a raw material supplier for almost all other industries it is definitely one of the most important industries in the world. Companies in the chemical industry are faced with a very high level of competition, volatile and difficult to estimate customers’ requirements, hardly predictable demand, inflexible and complex production processes, and the particular chemical supply chain which influences all activities hence its profitability. Since the market for chemical products is highly competitive, the focus lies heavily on prices. This thesis provides an overview of the supply chain and its challenges of the chemical industry as a part of the process industry. One of the main challenges which is discussed in this thesis is that the customers’ requirements have to be satisfied as quickly as possible with minimal inventories while increasing service level. Another crucial challenge is that the chemical production is only cost efficient if all plants and capacities are fully utilized. The first part of this thesis contains a thorough literature research, whereas for the second part, interviews with experts were made and they were asked to fill in a questionnaire, in order to gain valuable and applicable insights from practical experience. The findings show that all service level factors are very important for the chemical industry but the ultimate goal should be to offer or to reach the best possible price-performance ratio.Ingrid DuskovaMasterarbeit Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 2016 Fachbereich: Logisti

Sprungdiffusionsprozesse zur Bewertung von Optionen
The objective of this master thesis is to give the intended reader an overview about jump diffusion models on option pricing. Hence, the theoretical background of option pricing with jump diffusion models has been investigated to apply a jump diffusion model extended by a GARCH(1,1) process. Therefore, daily closing prices of the stocks from Volkswagen AG and Porsche Holding for a period from January 4th 2010 until June 30th 2016 have been the basis for modelling and calculating the model under the restrictions and requirements of a jump diffusion process and a GARCH (1,1) process. Finally, the applied model has been investigated in each research step on significance of the results by analyzing different buying scenarios and comparing them to a standard Black Scholes model.Peter ZödiMasterarbeit Fachhochschule des BFI Wien 2016 Fachbereich: Banking and Financ

Die Reform der Leasingbilanzierung nach IFRS Auswirkungen auf die Bilanzierung österreichischer Unternehmen
This thesis is about the change in the lease accounting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The literature review shows that this topic is very important for the lessees, lessors (leasing market), auditors, investors and other interested people. The central aspects of this thesis are: What effects does the new Right-of-useapproach have on the lease accounting of companies in Austria? Other questions are: How will the reform effect the accounting of Austrian companies? How does the change of lessee’s accounting effect lessors respectively the leasing market? What measures have lessors and the leasing market to promote customer loyalty? This thesis is concerned with the current lease accounting, the Discussion paper (DP) 2009/9, the Exposure draft (ED) 2010/9, the ED/2013/6 and the new lease standard IFRS 16. The empirical part consists of interviews. Five experts have been interviewed based on a previously prepared interview guide with questions about the current lease accounting, the exposure drafts and the possible impacts for the lessees, lessors and auditors. The main results are that the Right-of-use-approach affects the balance sheets of lessees and by this increases the gearing ratio. The lessees have to think about changes in their IT-system. Small companies will maybe rethink closing a new contract because of the changes of the new lease accounting. If lessors bring their longtime consulting experience in properties to the foreground, then the number of leasing agreements will perhaps not decrease. Otherwise it will be possible that the leasing contracts will decline.

The present diploma thesis aims at analyzing the challenged posed by the imple-mentation and subsequent sustained use of customer relationship management systems.
Throughout the last years, CRM has proven to be an important factor when it comes to increasing revenue and profit margin. More and more businesses are starting to implement CRM projects. However, according to literature research, about half of all businesses fail to successfully implement such systems. This rate reflects the pertinence of this topic and clearly indicates the need for an in-depth analysis of the situation and the contributing factors.
The author attempts to answer the question why CRM projects fail during imple-mentation. Furthermore, it is analyzed whether or not a general strategy, a guide-line for successful implementation of CRM projects can be established. Lastly, it is investigated how sustained CRM application can be managed.
In order to answer these research questions, the author relies on the methodolo-gies of literature research as well as a qualitative empirical approach of interviews with experts on the field.
The main problems that lead to failure of CRM projects stem from misinformed expectations, lack of understanding of interrelations, lack of objectives, faulty pro-cess management, there being no or inadequate requirements specifications, poorly project organization, IT-infatuation, as well as a lack of involvement of and resistance from the prospective CRM users.
Due to these problems a seven step guideline for successful CRM implementation and troubleshooting during projects was created.
Sustained use of CRM systems by the employees involved can be achieved through reassuring action by the applicable change management as well as proper employee leadership.
The paper concludes with a perspective on recent possible future trends in the field of CRM projects.
