Production, Purification and Characterization of Terpenes Isolated From Two New Strains of Yeasts in Iraq and Study of Their Antiparasitic Activity
The current study was included isolation and identification of yeasts from five sediments soil samples from Al-Faw and Shatt al-Arab in Basrah provinces, Iraq. The soil samples were collected during fallow period 1-1-2021 to 1-6-2022. In the primary isolation dilution method used for cultured soil samples, two-crud colonies filtration was used. Two types of terpenes (T1, T2) were purified from culture filtrates of both species Cystobasidium benthicum and C .minutum separately. The thin layer chromatography and column chromatography were used in the first step of purification. Cytotoxicity test revealed no toxic effect for both terpenes at 0.2 gm / ml concentration. The two terpenes were identified using ultra violet and infra-red spectroscopy as well. Therefore, the results showed the terpenes nature of both toxins and determination of important active groups in the structure of the two isolated terpenes. The current study aimed to search for more treatments that limit the vitality of the larval stages of the parasite, so it was done antiparasite activity for both terpenes were performed against Echinococcus granulosus the results showed the T1 more activity against parasite compared with T2

The Impact of e-HRM on Teacher Performance: A Case of Higher Educational Institutions in Sindh Province
This study investigated the impact of Electronic Human Resource Management (E-HRM) on teacher performance in public universities in Sindh, Pakistan. The research design combined surveys and interviews, employing a mixed-methods approach to collect data from teachers currently serving in the selected universities. The study explored e-HRM practices in planning, training and development, and monitoring. The findings revealed a discernible connection between e-HRM variables and teacher performance, with planning, training and development, and monitoring showing significant positive impacts. The exclusion of the evaluation variable raises questions about measurement challenges. The findings have implications for policymakers and university administrators, emphasising the need for robust e-HRM systems to optimise human resource management and enhance teaching staff capabilities. The study contributes to the theoretical framework drawing upon Human Capital Theory, the Resource-Based View, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning movement. Recommendations for future research include refining evaluation metrics, conducting longitudinal studies, exploring context-specific challenges, and addressing issues related to e-HRM implementation in higher education institutions. Inclusively, the study provides valuable insights into the transformative potential of E-HRM in optimising teacher performance and fostering institutional excellence in the educational landscape of Sindh province, Pakistan
Navigating Employee Performance: An In-depth Examination of the Influences of Various Management Controls within Private Sector Banks in Karachi
This comprehensive study was driven by the imperative to understand how different management control systems (MCS) – namely Personnel, Culture, Results, and Action Controls – distinctly influence organizational performance, a topic of enduring significance in the business management field. Through detailed path analysis, the research uncovers a significant positive influence of action and cultural controls on performance. In contrast, personnel and results controls do not demonstrate a substantial connection with performance. The investigation reveals that MCS can account for up to 63.7% of the variability in performance, offering critical insights into the efficacy of different control systems in shaping organizational outcomes. This study not only illuminates the theoretical frameworks and practical implementations of MCS but also enriches the understanding of their strategic significance, potentially guiding organizations to leverage control systems effectively to boost performance and fulfil their goals in a structured manner
Emotional Intelligence and Anxiety Handling in Secondary Grade Students by Classroom Managerial Style
Emotional intelligence means not only controlling emotions, solving inner problems and mental conflicts, but also steaming other people\u27s mental problems and their conflicts. It is also used to assess the emotions of others, their inner conflicts, and their mental anxieties. Understanding Emotional Intelligence (EI) by the teacher can reduce emotional distress and stress in students and guide them to the best of their ability for teamwork, and harmony. The research sample comprised 250 secondary grade students equally distributed under five classroom managerial styles in Rahimyar Khan. A questionnaire was used for data collection, based on ten themes: enthusiasm, self-awareness, motivation, social skills, self-regulation, and collaboration, atmosphere of trust, mutual harmony, enthusiasm, and empathy. Overall, it was clear that students were more enthusiastic, self-aware, motivated, socially skilled, self-regulated, collaborated, trusted, mutually harmonial, coherent, and empathetic in the democratic operational atmosphere. This was visible mostly in an achievement-oriented classroom atmosphere and then in the situational classroom atmosphere, but least in laissez-faire and authoritarian classroom atmosphere. Overall anxiety revealed that students are very anxious in laissez-faire and authoritarian classroom atmospheres. The results will play a dominant role for teachers to think about their overall management style in the classrooms
Impactful Cooperative Learning and Academic Achievement of Mathematics Students
Most mathematics abstract concepts have difficulty teaching-learning, but it is easy to utilize appropriate teaching techniques like cooperative learning for better academic achievements. The current study aimed to examine the impact of cooperative learning on mathematics students’ academic performance in grade 5. Fifty students were employed as an experimental group. The data were collected through a developed questionnaire at two points, that is, pre-test and post-test. The test was based on subjective and objective methods that have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the cognitive domain of Bloom’s Taxonomy. The MCQs were distributed among three domains with nearly equal weighting given to knowledge, understanding, and application (or problem-solving) skills. Data were analyzed through statistical methods that determined the positive impact of cooperative learning on the academic achievement of mathematics students. The involved students found it pleasant and enjoyed the learning environment. Teaching through cooperative learning is recommended as designing activities that promote group work can help students for better academic achievement
Technostress Level in Prospective Teachers at Higher Education Institution
In the last two decades, most researchers have taken an interest to understand how technology affects negatively. It is extensively reported that techno stress is evoked due to technology among different groups like prospective teachers. This quantitative survey examined the technostress level of prospective teachers in the department of education using a validated technostress instrument. The findings of the study show that the used instrument was found valid to examine technostress with minor modifications and examining prospective teachers\u27 moderate levels of technostress can affect their work performance in the class. The findings of the study found that final-year students have less technostress as compared to first-year students. Moreover, this study will be used as a potential reference in the context of Pakistan to know that if there is advanced technology then there might be the existence of technostress. This research study will provide awareness to the management of HEIs to overcome technostress among prospective teachers
Teachers’ Professional Knowledge of Lesson Plans and Its Practices of Teaching: A Case of Quetta Secondary Schools
Teachers’ professional knowledge and its implementation are part and parcel of the comprehensive students’ academic achievements. This study aimed to assess the practice of teachers’ professional knowledge of lesson plans for teaching Pakistan studies at the secondary school level. The study\u27s research design was descriptive, using a quantitative method. The total population of the study comprised 56 male teachers of secondary schools. The researcher used a convenience sampling technique to select 40 male teachers teaching Pakistan studies to classes 9 and 10. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire using Google Forms using SPSS version 25, and frequencies and percentages were computed. The study\u27s findings reveal that while teaching Pakistan studies, teachers develop logically structured lesson plans that engage all students in the classroom according to students’ needs. It also focuses on the sequence of a single lesson and gives step-by-step instructions. However, it was also assessed that teachers do not identify clear learning objectives of the lessons, align content to appropriate cognitive skills, activities and assessment of lessons, use learning materials effectively in the classroom and plan various instructional strategies for different lessons. It is recommended that teachers be provided with professional training to improve their skills of developing lesson plan skills, and the teachers’ education programs impart different instructional strategies for teaching social sciences subjects.
Integration of Health and Education in Teacher Education Programs
Integrating health and physical education in teacher education programs has garnered significant attention recently, driven by the potential to enhance students\u27 overall well-being and instil enduring healthy habits. The study\u27s foremost objectives were to identify health and physical education content within the teacher education curriculum and suggest some guidelines for integrating health and physical education content in the teacher education curriculum. The research was qualitative and a narrative design was used. The research was done using document analysis of teacher education programs. Based on this, findings and conclusions were drawn, and recommendations for further study in the field were suggested. Research findings indicate that the curriculum and content in the teacher education programs have sufficient portions that may help prospective teachers to enable them to handle health and education activities at schools if needed. Teacher education programs are intended to enhance the future teacher’s ability to promote pupils’ health and physical education
Effect of Metacognitive Strategies on Secondary School Students to Achieve Sustainable Learning Skills
This study aimed to determine the effect of metacognitive strategies on secondary school students’ self-regulation, self-consciousness, and learning skills. Using a quasi-experimental research design with a pre and post-test technique, the data was gathered from the secondary school students with the assistance of the integration of metacognitive strategies within the lectures of the science instructors. The findings of the study reveal a significant effect of using metacognitive strategies within science lectures on the self-regulation and learning skills of secondary school students. The study recommends that science instructors consider implementing appropriate metacognitive techniques in the classroom, in particular, and the schools’ management to arrange workshops for science instructors to learn to integrate the metacognitive techniques, in general
