Employee Green Behaviour as a Bridge: How Knowledge and Motivation Drive Job Performance

This study develops and tests an integrated model to investigate the phenomenon of employee green behaviour in the hotel industry of Pakistan. Thus, drawing upon the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), the study examines the antecedents (i.e., employee environmental knowledge and motivation) and outcomes (i.e., job performance) of employee green behaviour. Empirical data have been collected from operational-level employees of 3-star and above hotels via a self-administered survey-based questionnaire in three different time lags, i.e., T1, T2, and T3. Statistical software was used to analyse the data and test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that employee environmental knowledge and motivation have a significant positive impact on employee green behaviour and green behaviour is significantly related to job performance. The result of mediation analysis shows that employee green behaviour significantly mediates between employee environmental knowledge, motivation, and job performance. The findings contributed to the employee green behaviour literature by providing empirical evidence in the context of a planned behaviour theory and offering actionable insights for managers and policymakers aiming to cultivate a green-orientated culture to enhance employee performance. The limitations and future research directions are discussed at the end of the research study

The inclusion of sustainable practices in the manufacturing segment has gained importance in protecting the environment from degradation by transforming practices in SMEs.  This research investigates the link between sustainable manufacturing practices (SMP) and sustainable performance (SP) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while examining the mediating role of competitive capabilities. This study adopts a quantitative research approach and employs a survey method to gather data from managers and employees of Pakistani SMEs with a sample of 420. Data was analyzed using Smart PLS 4.0. As per the results, sustainable manufacturing practices (SMP) significantly improve the sustainable performance of SMEs, while competitive capabilities act as a vital mediating factor between SMP and SP. SMEs must execute SMP to preserve the environment. Moreover, the government needs to develop strategies for SMP implementation in SMEs by providing training and development opportunities to initiate programs. These initiatives can help SMEs in the adoption of sustainable practices to reduce, recycle, and reprocess in order to minimize waste in the manufacturing process

The study explores the project portfolio management decision-making procedures under uncertain and dynamic settings by investigating adaptive strategies together with strategic resource distribution and leadership adaptability as drivers of portfolio achievement. The study investigates uncertainty factors while evaluating decision-influenced adaptive strategies and develops implementable suggestions for PPM managers. 235 Project and portfolio managers from the technology sector completed structured surveys that served as the basis for quantitative research data analysis. Descriptive statistics together with correlation and mediation comparisons and moderation testing allowed researchers to study key variable relationships in the analysis phase. The findings revealed that adaptive decision-making increases portfolio performance and organizational flexibility along with strategic resource allocation effectively declines uncertainty. Leadership adaptability has a substantial impact on how adaptive decision-making affects portfolio performance and market uncertainty raises the effectiveness of strategic resource allocation toward portfolio outcomes. The study recommends that organizations mend adaptive decision-making through augmented leadership adaptability and enriched strategic resource allocation with added real-time feedback systems. Scenario-based planning together with flexible decision-making systems allows organizations to handle uncertain situations and enhance portfolio stability

The Impact of Positive Attitude on Motivation, Anxiety, and Mathematical Performance Among Lower Secondary Students in Karachi, Pakistan

This study investigated the motivation, anxiety, and mathematical performance as predictors of students’ positive attitude toward learning mathematics. While several challenges influence students’ performance, their unfavourable attitude toward mathematics has been recognised as one of the most significant barriers. Using the correlational study, the data was gathered from the students enrolled in grades 6, 7, and 8 from the public and private schools in Karachi, following the Catholic Board of Education Karachi (CBEK). The findings of the study revealed a significant correlation between motivation, anxiety, and the mathematical performance of students. The results offer several implications for educators, school leaders, and curriculum developers. Mathematics teachers must prioritise fostering positive classroom experiences by incorporating interactive teaching strategies, real-life problems, and constructive feedback. Such practices enhance students’ attitudes toward mathematics, reduce anxiety and enhance motivation. School management should foster such a climate where mistakes are treated as learning opportunities. Continuous training for mathematics teachers about digital tools and mathematics applications, and simulations must be provided. Curricula must integrate activities such as gamified learning, peer collaboration, and mathematics clubs

Determinants of Financial Inclusion in Pakistan

This study explores how digital financial literacy, Fintech usage, social influence, and usability affect financial inclusion in Pakistan, where the digital finance landscape is rapidly changing but financial inclusion remains low. Using a structured questionnaire, we surveyed Fintech clients as part of a quantitative approach. We then analysed the results using statistical packages for descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Our findings show that each of the four factors has a significant and positive impact on financial inclusion. Notably, Fintech use and usability have the most predictive potential, followed by social impact and digital financial literacy. The structural model indicates a 42.9% variation in financial inclusion, suggesting a moderate level of predictive accuracy. These results underscore the importance of integrating access to financial technology with opportunities to empower users through digital skills development, platform usability, and social network engagement. The study provides key recommendations for policymakers, Fintech developers, and financial service providers on how to promote financial inclusion through approachable, accessible, and socially acceptable solutions. Ultimately, our study shows that deliberate efforts to increase digital financial inclusion can lead to equitable growth and economic empowerment in Pakistan

This study investigates the relationship between spirituality and subjective well-being among adults with a particular focus on the mediating role of hope. This research addresses the gap in literature by exploring the role of spirituality and hope in enhancing well-being in Pakistan, where mental health challenges are prevalent and formal support is limited. These factors are key psychological resources fostering emotional resilience and life satisfaction. The study employs a correlational design and collects data from 401 adults in Karachi and Lahore aged 18 to 60 using validated instruments, including the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale Satisfaction with Life Scale Positive and Negative Affect Schedule and Herth Hope Index. The findings reveal that spirituality significantly reduces negative affect and enhances life satisfaction primarily through the mediating effect of hope. These results suggest that spirituality serves as a protective factor against psychological distress, emphasizing its potential integration into mental health interventions. In resource-limited environments like Pakistan, where conventional psychological services are scarce, incorporating spiritual and hope-based strategies into mental health frameworks could foster well-being and emotional stability. This study highlights the need for culturally sensitive approaches that integrate spirituality as an important component of psychological health

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause a variety of illnesses, from the common cold to severe acute respiratory syndrome. The SARS–CoV–2 outbreak was first reported by the World Health Organization in China and has now become an epidemic, reflecting the extremely high transmissibility of the virus, which has caused great concern and stress among people around the world. Research suggests that prevention, risk education, and promotion of self–care behaviours can slow the spread of the disease in communities, and identifying sources of transmission can be effective in controlling it. The mortality rate of this virus is significantly higher in the elderly and people with underlying diseases compared to healthy people. Coronavirus is a challenging disease and can be easily transmitted in public places, and the number of people infected with this virus is increasing exponentially across all ages and groups. Therefore, increasing public awareness of this disease and providing positive psychological programs and teaching prevention methods in the media can reduce mental problems in society, in addition to reducing mortality and the number of patients
