In this study, one species of algae, belongated to cyanophyta : Hapalosiphon aureus west and west 1897 were isolated, identified and purified. The extracts of algal isolates were testing to clarify their ability on growth inhibition on each of gram +ve and gram –ve bacteria E.coli & S. aureus, filamentous fungi A. fumigatus, and yeasts C.albican. The extracted alkaloid of species H.aureus showed higher inhibition activity. In our literature survey, the alkaloid compound analog N- methylcytisine was isolated for the first time from the H.aureus. This compound was characterized using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Ultra Violet Spectrum (UV), Infrared Spectrum (IR), Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1HNMR), Melting Point and Solubility in organic and inorganic solvents. The biological activity of this alkaloid was determined using the Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) against six bacterial isolates. The results showed inhibition in 33.3% growth of bacteria on 150 μg/ml concentration level, while the MIC against six fungi isolates showed inhibition of growth 33.3% at 50 μg/ml compared to standard antibiotic. The median lethal dose (LD50) showed no toxicity, no cytotoxicity and no effect on human red blood cells for 18 hours

    Get PDF
Previous studies rarely focused on exploring the factors that influence Pakistani customers towards purchase decisions through digital marketing. This research will explore the factors that influence customer purchase decision in the Pakistan consumer market through digital marketing with the help of thematic analysis. This research will significantly drive implications for marketers over customer purchase decision and also helps the policymakers to identify the key factors for their specific products. The explored factors will also indicate customers’ behavioural approach of purchasing through digital marketing platforms. A qualitative research strategy has been embraced to lead this research exploration. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and thematic analysis was applied as a tool for this research after transcribing the interview data through NVivo QSR version 10. The themes are comprised of factors obtained during data analysis. The topics comprise Customer impulsivity is increased by digital marketing, price affects customers\u27 buying decisions, the main variables influencing a customer\u27s buying intention are social, psychological, personal, and cultural. Even though social impact influences decision-making in digital marketing, few studies have considered social influence in decision support systems since, until recently, social interaction data was not properly collected in digital marketing databases. Despite this, the clientele for digital marketing is gradually shifting from a transactional to a relationship-based culture

The awareness and demand for sustainable development are getting more assertive and measuring sustainability is a complex undertaking. The study has examined the current state of sustainability practices in Malaysian Islamic Banks (IBs). The study has employed a combination of three methods for sustainability measurement, including Content analysis, Simos, and TOPSIS. The sustainability assessment of Malaysian IBs over the ten years (2010-2019) revealed an increased reporting trend on the sustainability dimensions. Malaysian IBs report almost equally on all sustainability dimensions and have comprehensively documented environmental and social dimensions. There has been an increase of appreciation in the understanding of the value and application of technology in the twenty-first century. In the classroom, technology is replacing conventional teaching techniques. Despite the fact that various research studies have been used to demonstrate the advantages of subtitled movies for language learners, there are notably few ones in this area in the context of Pakistan. This study was framed to examine the effects of watching videos with the subtitles on ESL students\u27 vocabulary and listening abilities. Pre-post tests and attitude questionnaires were given as part of a quasi-experimental study that the researchers used, to gather both qualitative and quantitative data of the groups. The group\u27s hearing comprehension scores were pre-tested at .948 and vocabulary scores were pre-tested at .876. Both with p-values at more than 0.05 showed the group\u27s listening and vocabulary skills were on the same level. However, both the listening comprehension and vocabulary learning post-test outcomes had p-values under 0.05 (0.007 and 0.014, respectively). The researcher’s additional use of descriptive statistics and participant surveys showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in vocabulary learning and listening comprehension, supported the alternative hypothesis. The current study provides insightful qualitative and quantitative data that can aid in the better understanding of modern teaching methodologies and their potential for change by policymakers, syllabus writers, and educators. By allowing for deeper investigation of the topic, this study can aid future academics’ understanding of the value of incorporating technology into education
