    Get PDF
Considering its importance, this study tests the empirical nexus between investment and saving over the period in the Pakistan economy. By using the Harrod-Domar Model, we have estimated the link between national saving and national investment in the Pakistan economy over the time 1980 to 2019. Various cross-country studies in the literature are evidence of a positive relationship between saving and investment. The econometric method “Ordinary Least Square (OLS)”, has been used to estimate the model. It concludes that national and foreign savings are proportionally related to investment in the Pakistani economy. From the estimates, it is also recommended that both national variables have a perfect relation in the economy. In the Pakistan economy, more savings would be needed for significant improvement in the investment. The government of Pakistan should pay more attention to enhancing encouragement through policy for not only investment but also saving rates to sustain investment in the country because the savings rate has been the main obstacle to capital availability for economic growth and development.  Moreover, to enhance investment trends in the Pakistan economy, more and more savings would be needed with mega reforms harmoniousness like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC)

    Get PDF
This quantitative study aimed to explore the impact of dysfunctional parenting on aggression and disruptive behaviour among children. The data were collected from 100 children studying at different institutes in Rawalpindi, using a purposive sampling technique. The participants of the study varied in age between 11-14 years. Three scales, that is, the Parenting Scale (PS), the Aggression Scale (AS), and the Disruptive Behaviour Sale Professed by Students (DBS-PS) were used for data collection. The data analysis was performed using correlation analysis, linear regression, and independent sample T-test. It was hypothesized that dysfunctional parenting would be positively correlated with aggression and disruptive behaviour, and dysfunctional parenting would have a significant impact on aggression and disruptive behaviour. The findings revealed that dysfunctional parenting was positively correlated with disruptive behaviour, but not with aggression. On the other hand, aggression and disruptive behaviour were positively correlated. Moreover, it was also proved that dysfunctional parenting had a significant impact on aggression and disruptive behaviour. However, there were no significant gender differences to be found in the study outcomes. This research will help to fill the gap in the research on student aggression and dysfunctional parenting

    Get PDF
Ascaris lumbricoides is a parasite that alters the immune response of the host. This study aims to determine the serum levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-22 (IL-22) in some patients and their relationships to the severity of infection. The current study also aims to study some blood parameters of patients infected with the Ascaris lumbricoides. Patients were referred to this laboratory for testing from Al Furat General Hospital in Al-Najaf Province, Al Sader General Hospital, Al-Zahra Maternity and Paediatrics, and Al-Hakeem Hospital. Formol-ether concentration and Kato-Katz thick smear techniques were used to examine stool samples. The results show a significant increase (P0.05) in serum interleukin-10 and interleukin-22 in ascariasis patients compared to the healthy group. The results revealed a significant increase (P0.05) in iron level concentration in ascariasis patients and a significant decrease (P0.05) in Hb, PCV, and RBCs count
