    Get PDF
The Omed-omedan tradition is one of the unique traditions in the city of Denpasar, precisely in Banjar Kaja, Kelurahan Sesetan. The Omed-omedan tradition is a mythology accepted as a cultural heritage of the Banjar Kaja community, Sesetan, has been passed down from the older generation to the present. That\u27s why this tradition is said to be unique and rare as cannot be found elsewhere. The Omed-omedan tradition was originally a tradition that was carried out spontaneously by the Banjar Kaja community, but in its development it has transformed into a cultural festival which certainly has a fairly high selling value. The transformation of a tradition which was initially carried out spontaneously by the community into a festival showed that the cultural industry with its capitalist ideology was able to influence most people to agree that the implementation of this tradition was packaged into a festival. The Banjar Kaja Sesetan community feels that they need a new model in the implementation of this tradition so that it has more selling value and is better known than before. The Banjar Kaja community, Sesetean, has unconsciously been hegemony by capitalist ideology so that it has unconsciously agreed to transform the tradition from spontaneity into a festival. By reason of the progress of the era and tourism, this tradition is considered to have high economic value so that it should be used as a cultural festival. The cultural industry does not eliminate the sacred value of this tradition, but by turning into a festival with various packages that satisfy the people present, resulting in the loss of the authenticity of the tradition, there has been an unconscious uniformity in the implementation of this tradition.&nbsp

The Balinese language which is used in daily life on the island of Bali has experienced a shift in usage so it needs to be preserved. In an effort to preserve the Balinese language and script, the Provincial Government issued Bali Governor Regulation Number 20 of 2013 and Regulation number 1 of 2018. I Made Suatjana submitted a proposal that the Balinese script be included in Unicode to make it easier to display Balinese script on digital media. Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha developed keyboards or keyboards and an application called T@miang to facilitate typing Balinese characters on computer devices. Computer equipment is slowly becoming obsolete, replaced by mobile devices used by 53.03% of users in Indonesia, so it is necessary to build a Balinese script keyboard that can be used on mobile devices. PaTik Bali is built for mobile devices with Android operating system. PaTik Bali layout is adapted to T@miang keyboard layout. PaTik Bali version 1.0 only uses the Balinese script on each keyboard key. In version 2.0 each button on PaTik Bali has been added Latin letters because of the large number of entries on the Google Play page. Based on data recorded on the Google Play Console, there are 41,820 devices that have installed the Balinese Keyboard (PaTik Bali) application, 99.19% are from Indonesia. In general, the PaTik Bali application can be accepted in the community, this can be seen from the average rating given by users on Google Play which is 4.27 on a scale of 5. However, some users complain about the incorrect form of letters. The PaTik Bali application uses fonts that have been embedded in the Android operating system so that it can be used as a keyboard in other applications. This font still has enough problems. To fix this problem, it is necessary to develop the Balinese font then ask Google as an Android developer to enter the new font into the Android operating system.&nbsp

    Get PDF
Basically subak is a farmer-managed irrigation system in Bali. It is an entity managing some sites of rice field, getting irrigation water from one source, having subak temple, and getting an autonomy of internally and externally. It also has some natural bounderies. Subak as a socio-cultural institution has some strengths. But subak is very weak because of external intervention. The globalization (competition, pragmatism, materialism, etc) highly influences the subak existence. Now, irrigation water for subak is taken by tourism sector as water drinking industry and by the domestic used. Therefore water for subak is limited. Also, the land tax (pajak bumi dan bangunan) is very high, because the number of tax is based on rice fileld location. That is why land conversion in Bali is very high, about 750 ha/year. The problems and threats of subak in Bali are coming from tourism sector, green revolution concept, free trade, and biotechnology development. To increase the defensiveness and sustainability of subak needs a strategic policy in relation with parhyangan (values) aspects, pawongan (social) aspects, and palemahan (physical) aspects
