    Cross section measurement of e(+)e(-) -> (KSKL0)-K-0 at root s=2.00-3.08 GeV

    The cross sections of the process e+e-→KS0KL0 are measured at fifteen center-of-mass energies s from 2.00 to 3.08 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 582 pb-1 and using the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The results are found to be consistent with those obtained by BABAR. A resonant structure around 2.2 GeV is observed, with a mass and width of 2273.7±5.7±19.3 MeV/c2 and 86±44±51 MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The product of its radiative width (Γe+e-) with its branching fraction to KS0KL0 (BrKS0KL0) is 0.9±0.6±0.7 eV. © 2021 authors. Published by the American Physical Society

    Measurement of the branching fraction of leptonic decay D-s(+) -> tau(+)nu(tau) via tau(+) -> pi(+)pi(0)(tau)

    By analyzing 6.32 fb-1 of e+e- annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we determine the branching fraction of the leptonic decay Ds+→τ+ντ, with τ+→π+π0ν¯τ, to be BDs+→τ+ντ=(5.29±0.25stat±0.20syst)%. We estimate the product of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcs| and the Ds+ decay constant fDs+ to be fDs+|Vcs|=(244.8±5.8stat±4.8syst) MeV, using the known values of the τ+ and Ds+ masses as well as the Ds+ lifetime, together with our branching fraction measurement. Combining the value of |Vcs| obtained from a global fit in the standard model and fDs+ from lattice quantum chromodynamics, we obtain fDs+=(251.6±5.9stat±4.9syst) MeV and |Vcs|=0.980±0.023stat±0.019syst. Using the branching fraction of BDs+→μ+νμ=(5.35±0.21)×10-3, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions BDs+→τ+ντ/BDs+→μ+νμ=9.89±0.71, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality. © 2021 authors.     Relationship between REM sleep behavior disorder and depression and anxiety and night eating syndrome

    The purpose of this study is to reveal the risk of depression and anxiety disorders and night eating syndrome in individuals with REM sleep behavior disorder and to determine the relationship between them. Intermittent awakening from sleep to sleep or accompanied by physical movements that could injure itself is defined as REM sleep behavior disorder. Ethical committee approval of the study taken from T.R. Istanbul Arel University. The sample of the study was analyzed by 47 people from T.R. Ministry of Health Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases and Chest Surgery Training and Research Hospital, 39 people from T.R. Ministry of Health Sultan Abdul Hamid Khan Training and Research Hospital, 28 people from the T.R. Ministry of Health, Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital were included in the study. Total of 108 data randomly selected were included in the study as control group. It can be said that the REM sleep behavior disorder was low (13-0=13/3=4,33; 0-4,33: low; 4,34-8,66: intermediate; 8,67-13,00: high). There was a positive and significant relationship between REM sleep behavior disorder scores and anxiety (r =.43; p <.05) and depression (r =.56; p <.05) scores. The participants with high REM sleep behavior disorders have high anxiety and depression symptoms. © 2021 Mattioli 1885. All rights reserved

    The 'wavelet' entropic index q of non-extensive statistical mechanics and superstatistics

    Generalized entropies developed for non-extensive statistical mechanics are derived from the Boltzmann-Gibbs-Shannon entropy by a real number q that is a parameter based on q-calculus; where q is called ‘the entropic index’ and determines the degree of non-extensivity of a system in the interval between 1 and 3. In a very recent study, we introduced a new calculation method of the entropic index q of non-extensive statistical mechanics. In this study, we show the mathematical proof of this calculation method of the entropic index. Firstly, we propose that the number of degrees of freedom, n is proportional to the inverse of the wavelet scale index,[Formula presented], where iscale is a wavelet based parameter called wavelet scale index that quantitatively measures the non-periodicity of a signal in the interval between 0 and 1. Then, by applying this proposition to the superstatistics approach, we derive the equation that expresses the relationship between the entropic index and the wavelet scale index, q=1+2iscale. Therefore, we name this q-index as the ‘wavelet’ entropic index. Lastly, we calculate the Abe entropy, Landsberg-Vedral entropy and q-dualities of the Tsallis entropy of the Logistic Map and Hennon Map using the ‘wavelet’ entropic index, and based on our results, compare and discuss these generalized entropies. © 2021 Elsevier Lt

    Search for the X (2370) and observation of eta(c) -> eta eta eta ' in J/psi -> gamma eta eta eta '

    Using a sample of 1.31 x 10(9) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform a study of J/psi -> gamma eta eta eta' to search for the X(2370) and eta(c) in the eta eta eta' invariant mass distribution. No significant signal for the X(2370) is observed, and we set an upper limit for the product branching fraction of B(J/psi -> gamma X(2370) . B(X(2370) -> eta eta eta') gamma eta(c)).B(eta c -> eta eta eta') = (4.86 +/- 0.62(stat) +/- 0.45(sys)) x 10(-5)

    A Review of Functional Characterization of Single Amino Acid Change Mutations in HNF Transcription Factors in MODY Pathogenesis

    Mutations in HNF transcription factor genes cause the most common subtypes of maturity-onset of diabetes of youth (MODY), a monogenic form of diabetes mellitus. Mutations in the HNF1-alpha, HNF4-alpha, and HNF1-beta genes are primarily considered as the cause of MODY3, MODY1, and MODY5 subtypes, respectively. Although patients with different subtypes display similar symptoms, they may develop distinct diabetes-related complications and require different treatments depending on the type of the mutation. Genetic analysis of MODY patients revealed more than 400 missense/nonsense mutations in HNF1-alpha, HNF4-alpha, and HNF1-beta genes, however only a small portion of them are functionally characterized. Evaluation of nonsense mutations are more direct as they lead to premature stop codons and mostly in mRNA decay or nonfunctional truncated proteins. However, interpretation of the single amino acid change (missense) mutation is not such definite, as effect of the variant may vary depending on the location and also the substituted amino acid. Mutations with benign effect on the protein function may not be the pathologic variant and further genetic testing may be required. Here, we discuss the functional characterization analysis of single amino acid change mutations identified in HNF1-alpha, HNF4-alpha, and HNF1-beta genes and evaluate their roles in MODY pathogenesis. This review will contribute to comprehend HNF nuclear family-related molecular mechanisms and to develop more accurate diagnosis and treatment based on correct evaluation of pathologic effects of the variants

    Effects of Autochthonous Yeast Cultures on Some Quality Characteristics of Traditional Turkish Fermented Sausage "Sucuk"

    The objective of this study was to determine the effects of yeast cultures (Candida zeylanoides and Debaryomyces hansenii) isolated from traditionally dry fermented Turkish sucuks, on some physicochemical and microbiological properties of the product. Eight different batches of the sucuks were produced by the inoculation of yeast and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) cultures (Lactobacillus curvatus, Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus sakei) in different combinations. The sucuks were ripened for 12 days and analyzed at 1st, 6th, and 12th days of ripening. Percent moisture content, pH, water activity (a(w)) and residual nitrite values of the sucuk inoculated with the yeast cultures were higher at the end of the ripening. The use of yeast cultures decreased hardness, gumminess, and chewiness values of the sucuk while increased adhesiveness values. Major volatile groups were aldehydes, terpenes, and sulphur compounds in the sucuk samples. The most noticeable results were for sensory properties of the sucuk that were positively improved by the yeast cultures

    Search for the Rare Semi-leptonic Decay J/psi -> D(-)e(+)nu(e) + c.c.

    Using 10.1 x 10(9)J/ events produced by the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII) at a center-of-mass energy s = 3.097 GeV and collected with the BESIII detector, we present a search for the rare semi-leptonic decay J/psi -> D(-)e(+)nu (e) + c.c. No excess of signal above background is observed, and an upper limit on the branching fraction B(J/psi -> D(-)e(+)nu (e)+c. c.)<7.1x10(-8) is obtained at 90% confidence level. This is an improvement of more than two orders of magnitude over the previous best limit

    Document Sentiment Classification Using Hybrid Wavelet Methodologies

    Sentiment and semantic analysis of a text are very important issues of today because of increasing text data. Our study proposes a new method to reveal the hypernym relations (generic term) of the words in the text and to enhance the accuracy results of sentiment classification of the texts. We used wavelet transform method that has been rarely used in text analysis. In our study, the aim is to show how this method contributes the sentiment analysis classification problem. We used classical algorithms and hybrit wavelet algorithm for sentiment analysis problem. It has been observed that when wavelets are applied to classical classification algorithms, the accuracies increased approximately 5%
