A Vns Based Framework for Early Diagnosis of The Alzheimer's Disease Converted from Mild Cognitive Impairment

    No full text
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is an intermediate stage between age-related cognitive decline. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a more serious decline in dementia. Early identification of mild cognitive impairment with a high risk of Alzheimer's disease is very important for increasing the success rate of the treatment. In this study, we present a Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) based framework that uses Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data to diagnose early conversion from MCI to AD. The proposed framework has been built in three main phases: preparing dataset, feature selection, and classification. After preparing the dataset, a VNS algorithm selects the most predictive MRI features for classification. Then, a Linear Support Vector Machine is utilized to classify the selected features. All data in this study are obtained from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) database with 860 subjects, eight different monthly periods, and 286 features in each period. The results obtained from the framework outperform those of previous research in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity values. The results of this study demonstrate that our framework has a huge potential for early prediction and detection of mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer's disease conversion

Based on an collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of collected with the BESIII detector at , the first amplitude analysis of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay is performed. From the amplitude analysis, the component is found to be dominant with a fraction of , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. In combination with the absolute branching fraction measured by BESIII, we obtain , where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction . The precision of this result is significantly improved compared to the previous measurement. This result also differs from most of theoretical predictions by about , which may help to improve the understanding of the dynamics behind. © 2021 Published by the American Physical Societ

    No full text
In this work, gain of a traditional horn antenna is enhanced up to 2.9 dB over X-band using 3D printed square-shaped multi-layer lens. For this purpose, firstly the multi-layer lenses are designed using Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) and simulated in 3-D CST Microwave Studio (MWS) environment as consisting of square-shaped five layers with variable dielectric constants and heights. Thus, optimum values of the dielectric constants and heights are resulted limiting from 1.15 to 2.1 and 9.2 mm to 10 mm, respectively compatible for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) based 3D-printing process. Finally, the optimum lens is realized by 3D printer via FDM evaluating infill rate of cheap Polylactic Acid (PLA) material for each layer. The simulated and measured performance of the multi-layer dielectric structures are hand to hand. The horn antenna equipped by our proposed dielectric lens achieves gain enhancement of the traditional antenna up to 2.9 dB over the operation band. Furthermore, the proposed design is compared with the counterpart designs in literature and based on the comparison results it can be said that the proposed design achieves the better performance in the smaller in size as equipped a traditional X-band horn antenna. © 2021 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES). By analyzing an e+e- annihilation data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb-1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the D0→ρ-μ+νμ decay for the first time. We obtain BD0→ρ-μ+νμ=(1.35±0.09stat±0.09syst)×10-3. Using the world average of BD0→ρ-e+νe, we find a branching fraction ratio of BD0→ρ-μ+νμ/BD0→ρ-e+νe=0.90±0.11, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within the uncertainty. Combining the world average of BD+→ρ0μ+νμ and the lifetimes of D0(+), we obtain a partial decay width ratio of ΓD0→ρ-μ+νμ/(2ΓD+→ρ0μ+νμ)=0.71±0.14, which is consistent with the isospin symmetry expectation of unity within 2.1σ. For the reported values of BD0→ρ-μ+νμ/BD0→ρ-e+νe and ΓD0→ρ-μ+νμ/2ΓD+→ρ0μ+νμ, the uncertainty is the quadratic sum of the statistical and systematic uncertainties

Association of the Relationship Between Nutritional Status and Certain Biochemical Parameters in Obese Children

    No full text
The prevalence of childhood obesity is increasing globally. Adiposity is more concentrated in subcutaneous tissue in women and visceral fat tissue in men. Abdominal obesity is more commonly associated with metabolic diseases in men. The results showed that the mean BMIz scores of boys was higher than girls, but total body fat was lower than girls. Total body fat free mass, water and muscle mass were higher in boys than girls. It was determined that children aged 10-17 years consumed fatty and sugary snacks and sugary drinks at school. Food consumption containing the carbohydrate, fat, saturated fat and cholesterol were higher in boys than girls. As a result, it was thought that it would be more beneficial and reliable to use anthropometric methods showing body composition together with BMI zscore while evaluating body weight in adolescents. While nutritional counseling, it may be beneficial to consider that the energy and nutrient requirements of male adolescent individuals and their daily food consumption are higher than girls. When the results of the study are evaluated, we mention that it would be appropriate to evaluate girls more carefully in terms of iron deficiency anemia and diseases such as insulin resistance and diabetes

Based on a data sample of (1.0087±0.0044)×1010 J/ψ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII accelerator, the absolute branching fraction (BF) of the decay J/ψ→γη is measured with high precision using events in which the radiative photon converts to e+e-. Using the measured absolute BF of J/ψ→γη, the absolute BFs of four dominant η decay modes are measured for the first time. The results are B(J/ψ→γη)=(1.067±0.005±0.023)×10-3, B(η→γγ)=(39.86±0.04±0.99)%, B(η→π0π0π0)=(31.96±0.07±0.84)%, B(η→π+π-π0)=(23.04±0.03±0.54)%, and B(η→π+π-γ)=(4.38±0.02±0.10)%, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The results are consistent with the world average values within two standard deviations

#nofulltext# --- Fareed, Fareed M. A. (Arel Author), Çapan Yalçın, Özlem (Arel Author)Mutations in hepatocyte nuclear factor (HNF)1A gene cause the most common form of Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY), a monogenic subtype of diabetes mellitus. Functional characterization of mutant proteins reveals that mutations may disrupt DNA binding capacity, transactivation ability and nuclear localization of HNF1A depending on the position of the mutation. Previously identified Arg271Trp and Ser345Tyr mutations in HNF1A were found to be defective in nuclear localization. Arg271 residue resides in a region similar to classical nuclear localization signal (NLS) motif, while Ser345 does not. Importin alpha family members recognize NLS motifs on cargo proteins and subsequently translocate them into nucleus. Here, we first investigated the nuclear localization mechanism of wild type HNF1A protein. For this purpose, we analyzed the interaction of HNF1A with three mouse homolog importin alpha proteins (KPNA2, KPNA4 and KPNA6) by co-immunoprecipitation assay and molecular docking simulation. Hereby, KPNA6 was identified as the main import receptor, which is responsible for the transport of HNF1A into the nucleus. Immunolocalization studies in mouse pancreatic cells (Min6) also confirmed the co-localization of HNF1A and KPNA6 in the cytoplasm. Secondly, the interaction between KPNA6 and mutant HNF1A proteins (Arg271Trp and Ser345Tyr) was assessed. Co-immunoprecipitation studies revealed a reduced interaction compared to wild type HNF1A. Our study demonstrated for the first time that HNF1A transcription factor is recognized and transported by importin/karyopherin import family, and mutations in NLS motifs may disrupt the interaction leading to nuclear localization abnormalities and MODY phenotype
