    Amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of the decay Ds+ → K+ π + π − π 0

    The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Ds+ → K+π+π−π0 is observed by using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb−1 recorded by the BESIII detector at the centre-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The first amplitude analysis of Ds+ → K+π+π−π0 reveals the sub-structures in this decay and determines the fractions and relative phases of different intermediate processes. The dominant intermediate process is Ds+ → K*0ρ+, with a fit fraction of (40.5 ± 2.8stat. ± 1.5syst.)%. With the detection efficiency based on our amplitude analysis, the absolute branching fraction for Ds+ → K+π+π−π0 is measured to be (9.75 ± 0.54stat.± 0.17syst.) × 10−3.     Fragility Based Evaluation of Different Code Based Assessment Approaches for The Performance Estimation of Existing Buildings

    Seismic performance of existing buildings constructed before modern seismic design codes is one of the important problems of earthquake prone countries. Increasing life and economic losses after strong earthquakes shows the necessity of seismic performance assessment studies and methods. Therefore, in this study assessment methods recommended by different seismic codes were investigated and probabilistically assessed by comparing the fragility curves of existing low- to mid-rise RC structures. Building performances were determined according to TEC-2007, TBEC-2018, EC8/3 and ASCE 41-17. Eight different occupied buildings, classified according to construction dates (old and new) and story numbers (3 to 6), were selected and investigated by using these codes. At first, building capacity curves and damage limits, defined by the different code methods, were determined via pushover analyses. Structures were then subjected to more than 300 real strong ground motion (GM) records employing nonlinear dynamic analysis and fragility curves were obtained. Static analysis results showed that strength, stiffness and deformation capacity of new buildings are significantly higher than old ones according to all seismic codes considered and it is observed that TBEC-2018 gives the most conservative capacity estimations with respect to others. Comparison of fragility curves indicated that damage probabilities of TBEC-2018 and EC8/3 are higher than other seismic codes and this situation is valid for all story number and building age classes. In most cases TBEC-2018 and TEC-2007 results represent the upper and lower bounds of damage probabilities. It was also found that building age is the most effective parameter that affect the fragilities of existing buildings. Distribution of fragility curves imply that different code methods can give significantly different damage estimations under identical seismic demand levels

    Improved exploiting modification direction steganography for hexagonal image processing

    Steganography has made significant advances in the Square-pixel-based Image Processing (SIP) domain, but to our knowledge, no work has yet been done in Hexel (Hexagonal Pixel)-based Image Processing (HIP). This paper presents a HIP-domain data hiding method that exploits and improves the SIP-domain Exploiting Modification Direction (EMD) embedding scheme. The proposed method, Hexagonal EMD (HexEMD), utilizes a HIP-domain cover image's hexagonal nature and infrastructure to embed the secret message. In standard digital imaging systems, the sensor portion that converts photonic energy into an analog electrical signal and all the subunits that digitize, process, and display this signal are based on square pixel logic, so there is currently no commercial equipment available to produce HIP-domain images. Thus, the image is first transformed into the HIP domain in software using the infrastructure developed in the project. Then the HIP-domain image is partitioned into non-overlapping heptads of the standard size, each containing seven hexels. Rather than embedding segments to the independent pixel pairs as done in SIP-domain EMD, we do the embedding iteratively in each heptad. Experimental results show that the HexEMD outperforms its SIP equivalent, EMD, by improving embedding capacity and achieving low visual quality distortion. © 2022 The Author

    Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar, romandan tiyatroya hikâyeden çeviriye edebiyatın birçok alanında eser vermiş önemli bir yazardır. Hüseyin Rahmi’nin eleştiri yazıları yazdığı da bilinmektedir. Onun eleştirmen yönüne bakıldığında ilk olarak Cadı romanı çerçevesinde Şahabettin Süleyman’ın eleştirilerine karşılık yazdığı Cadı Çarpıyor ve Ali Naci’yi hedef alarak kaleme aldığı Şakavet-i Edebiyye adlı kitapları ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu eserler dışında süreli yayınlarda kalmış olan ve eleştiri niteliği gösteren edebiyat yazıları da vardır. 1888’den itibaren yazılarıyla yayın dünyasında görünmeye başlayan Hüseyin Rahmi Tercüman-ı Hakikat, İkdam, Âti, Akşam, Yeni Kitap, Yedigün gibi dönemin birçok gazete ve dergisinde eleştiriler yayımlamıştır. Hüseyin Rahmi, süreli yayınlardaki bu yazılarıyla dönemin edebiyat meselelerini ele almıştır. Dolayısıyla dönemin edebiyat dünyasının nabzını tutarak kendi sanat anlayışı çerçevesinde edebiyat akımlarından edebî türlere kadar edebiyatın her alanında yorumlarda bulunmuştur. Ancak Hüseyin Rahmi’nin süreli yayınlardaki eleştiri yazıları çerçevesinde edebiyata yaklaşımını ortaya koyabilecek nitelikte bir yazı kaleme alınmamıştır. Bu çalışmada Hüseyin Rahmi’nin söz konusu eleştiri yazıları incelenerek edebiyata dair görüşleri değerlendirilecektir

    Is cutaneous microbiota a player in disease pathogenesis? Comparison of cutaneous microbiota in psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis with scalp involvement

    Background: Knowledge about cutaneous microbiota in psoriasis vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis is limited, and a comparison of microbiota in the two diseases was not yet previously undertaken. Aims/Objectives: This study aimed to compare the scalp lesional and non-lesional microbiota in psoriasis vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis with that in a healthy control group. Methods: Fifty samples were taken with sterile swabs from patients’ and controls’ scalps, and 16S rRNA gene sequencing analyses were performed. Results: Alpha and beta diversity analyses showed that bacterial load and diversity were significantly increased in psoriasis vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis lesions compared to the controls. As phyla, Actinobacteria decreased and Firmicutes increased, while as genera, Propionibacterium decreased; Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Aquabacterium, Neisseria and Azospirillum increased in lesions of both diseases. Specifically, Mycobacterium, Finegoldia, Haemophilus and Ezakiella increased in psoriasis vulgaris and Enhydrobacter, Micromonospora and Leptotrichia increased in seborrheic dermatitis lesions. Mycobacterium, Ezakiella and Peptoniphilus density were higher in psoriasis vulgaris compared to seborrheic dermatitis lesions. The bacterial diversity and load values of non-lesional scalp in psoriasis vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis lay between those of lesional areas and controls. Limitations: The small sample size is the main limitation of this study. Conclusion: Higher bacterial diversity was detected in lesions of both psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis compared to the controls, but similar alterations were observed when the two diseases were compared. Although these differences could be a result rather than a cause of the two diseases, there is a need to analyze all members of the microbiota and microbiota-host interactions. © 2022 Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology - Published by Scientific Scholar

    First Observation of the Direct Production of the chi(c1) in e(+)e(-) Annihilation

    We study the direct production of the J(PC) = 1(++) charmonium state chi(c1)(1P) in electron-positron annihilation by carrying out an energy scan around the mass of the chi(c1)(1P). The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. An interference pattern between the signal process e(+)e(-) -> chi(c1)(1P) -> gamma J/psi -> gamma mu(+)mu(-) and the background processes e(+)e(-) -> gamma(ISR) J/psi -> gamma(ISR)mu(+)mu(-) and e(+)e(-) -> gamma(ISR)mu(+)mu(-) is observed by combining all the data samples. The chi(c1)(1P) signal is observed with a significance of 5.1 sigma. This is the first observation of a C-even state directly produced in e(+)e(-) annihilation. The electronic width of the chi(c1)(1P) resonance is determined to be Gamma(ee) = (0.12(-0.08)(+0.13)) eV, which is of the same order of magnitude as theoretical calculations

    Fairy Tales, Inequalities, and "Esit Masallar"

    Despite not being able to make any singleagreed-upon definition, the tale can be described by highlighting some of its features or drawing the boundaries of the genre. Different classifications are made according to the qualities that enable these boundaries to be drawn. Denominations such as oral tales, classical tales, and postmodern taleshave emerged as a result of to draw boundaries, classify, and name. Classical tales are formed through the literalization, moralization, and writing of oral tales, transforming them into ideological texts of bourgeois culture, lifestyle, and morality, and fairy tales, which include both classical and oral tales as well as their predecessors are the subject of very lively discussions all over the world today. Since the second half of the 20th century in particular, the critical accumulation of classical tales has also been enriched by the increase in attempts to destroy them. These attempts at destruction have mostly been carried out with regard to the power relations and gender stereotypes in these tales. In this context, classical tales are being destroyed and rewritten. The texts produced in this way can be called postmodern tales with an overview. When considering these attitudes, this denomination can be criticized as being too inclusive, if not inaccurate or incomplete. In addition, definitions that reveal the intention are also used, such as anti-tales, conflicting tales, counter tales, progressive tales, tales of liberation, and equality tales. The present study analyzes the reproductions in the Esit Masallar" in the context of gender and power relations by establishing parallels with the ideological transformation of tales from the classical to the postmodern period and the critical accumulation that has been built

    The Relationship Between Diet Quality And Body Weight Management In Pre-Obese And Obese Women

    Abstract Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between “KIDMED, Mediterranean Diet Quality Index”, “Diet Quality Index International (DQI-I)” scales and Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat percentage, biochemical parameters of preobese and obese women. Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted on 125 participants who applied to Fırat University Hospital Nutrition and Diet Policlinic between 11 April 2019 and 31 May 2019 in Elazıg/Turkey. Nutritional habits were evaluated with KIDMED and DQI-I. Food frequency questionare was used to collect data on dietary patterns. Chi-square test, T-test, ANOVA were used to analyze data. Scheffe or Tamhane tests were used in the binary comparisons of the groups. Pearson Correlation was used to evaluate the relation of quantitative variables with each other. Results: The mean age of the participants was 39,09±14,36 (min 19- max 69) years and %52 (n:65) were pre-obese and % 48 (n:60) were obese according to BMI. Mean scores of KIDMED and DQI-I of pre-obeses were significantly higher than obeses. BMI, body fat percentage, total cholesterol level were inversely associated with both DQI-I and KIDMED. The relationship between total cholesterol level and dietary total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, empty calorie food, and fatty acid ratio scores was negatively significant for each component. Conclusion: The majority of pre-obese people were in the good and average categories of KIDMED, while the obese were mostly in the average and poor categories.The relationship between BMI and DQI-I total score was stronger than KIDMED. © Mattioli 188
