Emotional labour behavior of nursing students: A qualitative study
Aim: This study aimed to determine the opinions of nursing students on emotional labor behavior. Background: It is of importance to teach emotional labor behavior to nursing students, the nurses of the future. Design: The research has a phenomenological qualitative design. Method: Participants consisted of 20 nursing students who were in face-to-face communication with patients in clinical practice. The Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) was used to report this research. Results: Considering the theoretical structure of the subject, emotional labor behavior was examined under three main themes: surface acting, deep acting, and genuine acting. Conclusions: Emotional labor behavior affects students’ approach to patients and performance in clinical practice. Education has a supportive effect on the management of emotions and the guidance of the clinical environment and clinical services. © 2022 Elsevier Lt
MATCH OF TuRKIYE'S PROGRAM BUDGET WITH THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The documents that embody the goals that the states want to achieve are the budgets. With this feature, budgets; it gives clues about how states will follow a path to ensure administrative, economic , environmental sustainability. The Sustainable Development Goals, which were set forth by the United Nations with the aim of "leaving no one behind", were accepted by 193 countries to be realized between 2015 and 2030. Turkiye is also among these countries. In our study, it is aimed to examine to what extent the program budget, which entered into force as of 2020, serves the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, 17 SDGs and 67 budget programs were matched , it was revealed how much share was allocated to each SDG from the budget. Turkiye ranked 71st among 163 countries in the SDG index in 2021. As a result of the study, it was determined that Turkiye could not allocate sufficient resources from the budget to realize some SDGs. It is considered that Turkiye may rise rapidly in the SDG index with the preparation of budget programs in line with SDGs in the upcoming period. In addition, it is evaluated that the new budget system can take on a sustainable development-oriented structure

Annular lesions represent a unique macro-morphologic pattern in various skin disorders that may be found in pityriasis rotunda, elastosis perforans serpiginosa, subacute nodular migratory panniculitis, keratolysis exfoliativa, neutrophilic eccrine hidradenitis, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, and intentionally induced annular lesions. This group is highly heterogenous and variable in clinical presentation. Whereas some are benign self-limiting disorders like pityriasis rotunda, others such as hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis follow a chronic course or have a potential of being life-threatening. Epidemiology, pathogenesis, histopathology, clinical presentation and diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment are discussed
Granulomatous annular diseases
Granulomatous skin disorders comprise a large group of diseases that are typically characterized by granuloma formation both in the skin and in many other tissues. Cutaneous lesions are usually seen as erythematous papules and plaques that may occasionally be arranged in an annular, ringlike con-figuration. The etiopathogenesis is unclear in most cases, and granuloma formation may be associated with various systemic, infectious, and metabolic disorders, foreign bodies, environmental antigens, or malignancies. Treatment options are dependent on the etiology, extent, and severity of the lesions. This review includes the clinical, histopathologic, and dermatoscopy findings, differentials, and treatment op-tions for noninfectious granulomatous annular skin disorders.(c) 2023 Elsevier Inc. Unraveling the chemical profile, antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, cytotoxic potential of different extracts from Astragalus caraganae
Six extracts (water, ethanol, ethanol-water, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane, and n-hexane) of Astragalus caraganae were studied for their biological activities and bioactive contents. Based on high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), the ethanol-water extract yielded the highest total bioactive content (4242.90 & mu;g g(-1)), followed by the ethanol and water extracts (3721.24 and 3661.37 & mu;g g(-1), respectively), while the least total bioactive content was yielded by the hexane extract, followed by the dichloromethane and ethyl acetate extracts (47.44, 274.68, and 688.89 & mu;g g(-1), respectively). Rutin, p-coumaric, chlorogenic, isoquercitrin, and delphindin-3,5-diglucoside were among the major components. Unlike the dichloromethane extracts, all the other extracts showed radical scavenging ability in the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay (8.73-52.11 mg Trolox equivalent [TE]/g), while all extracts displayed scavenging property in the 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging assay (16.18-282.74 mg TE/g). The extracts showed antiacetylcholinesterase (1.27-2.73 mg galantamine equivalent [GALAE]/g), antibutyrylcholinesterase (0.20-5.57 mg GALAE/g) and antityrosinase (9.37-63.56 mg kojic acid equivalent [KAE]/g) effects. The molecular mechanism of the H2O2-induced oxidative stress pathway was aimed to be elucidated by applying ethanol, ethanol/water and water extracts at 200 & mu;g/mL concentration to human dermal cells (HDFs). A. caraganae in HDF cells had neither a cytotoxic nor genotoxic effect but could have a cytostatic effect in increasing concentrations. The findings have allowed a better insight into the pharmacological potential of the plant, with respect to their chemical entities and bioactive contents, as well as extraction solvents and their polarity

Analytic modeling and comprehensive transverse deflection analysis of elastically restrained piezoelectric actuators with silicone layer
The impacts of electro-mechanic-fluid parameters on the transverse deflection behavior of the silicone-based piezoelectric diaphragm (SPD) with translational and rotational elastic edges were investigated. The bottommost silicone layer was assumed to be an elastic plate with uniformly distributed elastic restraints along the edges. The closed-form analytical expression for SPD deflections was derived by using classical laminated plate theory based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions. The analytical model was validated by experimental, FE methods and the results of the other study. Madde Kullanım Bozukluğu Tanılı Bireylerde Yeme Bozuklukları, Duygusal Yeme ve Depresyon Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi
Amaç: Bu araştırmada madde kullanım bozukluğu, duygusal yeme, yeme bozuklukları ve depresyon arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırmaya madde kullanım bozukluğu teşhisiyle ayaktan veya yatarak tedavi gören 100 deney ve 100 kontrol katılımcısı olmak üzere toplamda 200 kişi dahil edilmiştir. Vaka alımı SBÜ Erenköy Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi’nde yapılmıştır. Bireylere Bağımlılık Profil İndeksi Özbildirim Formu, Duygusal Yeme Ölçeği, Rezzy Yeme Bozuklukları Ölçeği ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmanın tüm örneklemi 28-37 yaş aralığında (%37) yoğunlaşmıştır. Madde kullanım bozukluğu tanılı bireylerde eğitim seviyesi düzeyinin ve evli, çocuk sahibi ve psikiyatrik-psikolojik tedavi görmüş olma oranlarının, sağlıklı bireylere göre daha düşük olduğu bulunmuştur. Madde kullanım bozukluğuna sahip bireylerde duygusal yeme, yeme bozukluğu geliştirme ve depresyon seviyesi madde kullanım şiddetinin yaklaşık %84,8’ini açıklamaktadır. Madde kullanım şiddetiyle; duygusal yeme, yeme bozukluğu geliştirme ve depresyon seviyesi arasında pozitif yönlü, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişkinin varlığı saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Madde kullanım bozukluğu tanılı bireylerde duygusal yeme, yeme bozukluğu geliştirme ve depresyon seviyesi sağlıklı bireylere göre daha yüksektir. Bağımlılık tedavisi sürecinde, duygusal yeme ve yeme bozukluğu gibi durumların göz önünde bulundurulması önemlidir
Uzamış SARS-CoV-2 PCR Pozitifliği Olan Olguda P323L Mutasyonu
Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) emerged in the last months of 2019 and caused a pandemic effecting the whole world. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of COVID-19 has changed by various mutations since the day it was first identified, causing the pandemic to continue. Age, male gender, obesity, and comorbidity, which are general risk factors for COVID-19, can also cause prolonged PCR positivity. In this report, a case of 37-year-old male who is working in the hospital's COVID-19 molecular diagnostics laboratory was presented. He was vaccinated with three doses of inactivated vaccine, CoronaVac (Sinovac Biotech, Beijing-China), within the context of the vaccination program carried out in Türkiye. His first SARS-CoV-2 positivity was detected on 12.01.2021, four months after the last vaccination, and he continued to be detected positive for SARS-CoV-2 throughout a period of 39 days by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) tests performed with 2-3-day intervals. The patient has a 20-pack/year smoking history and his body mass index (BMI) was 29.8 kg/m2 at the time of his COVID-19. The case, which was clinically defined as mild COVID-19 with symptoms including back and headache, cough, fever (38.5°C), and loss of taste-smell, and without any additional complications or respiratory distress during the disease process. In the radiological examination, the lung was found within normal ranges. Prophylactic enoxaparin sodium anti-xa IU/0.6 ml was administered to the patient due to his cardiovascular risk, and no additional treatment was given. Whole genome sequencing was performed from nasopharyngeal swab samples of the patient at the beginning and 16th day of the infection to investigate the the specific genomic features and mutation pattern of the virus in the host over time, due to the prolonged SARS-CoV-2 PCR positivity. Library preparation for the whole next-generation sequencing (NGS) was performed by the SARS-CoV-2 Panel, Paragon CleanPlex kit (Paragon Genomics, USA), and indexing of the library was done by Clean-Plex Dual-Indexed PCR Primers for Illumina Set B kit (Paragon Genomics, USA). NGS analysis was performed on the Illumina Miniseq (Illumina, USA) platform. As a result of the bioinformatics evaluation, both samples were determined as SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant (Nextclade; 21J-Delta variant, Pango lineage; AY.43). Remarkably, the SARSCoV-2 sequences in the two samples taken 15 days apart; several identical mutations; such as D614G in the S gene, P323L in the ORF 1b gene region, and P1228L in the Nsp3 gene region, were detected. Besides that, when compared to the first sample, three additional mutations (P383L, P539S, L838I) were observed in the sequence of the second sample, which led to three amino acid changes, the clinical significance of which has not yet been determined in the literature. It is thought that; these mutations that change amino acid expression, as well as the other three mutations detected, may contribute to the improvement of the fitness of the virus and may be one of the factors responsible for the prolonged SARS-CoV-2 PCR positivity. Additional data to be obtained by further epidemiological sequencing studies will shed light on this issue
Fabrication and characterization of chlorhexidine gluconate loaded poly(vinyl alcohol)/45S5 nano-bioactive glass nanofibrous membrane for guided tissue regeneration applications
Polymeric barrier membranes are used in periodontal applications to prevent fibroblastic cell migration into the cavities of bone tissue and to properly guide the proliferation of tissues. In this study, the fabrication, characterization, bioactivity, and in vitro biological properties of polyvinyl alcohol-based nanofibrous membranes containing nano-sized 45S5 bioactive glass (BG) loaded with chlorhexidine (CH) gluconate with biocompatible, bioactive, and antibacterial properties for using as dental barrier membranes were investigated. Nanofibrous membranes with an average fiber diameter, pore size, and porosity of 210 nm, 24.73 μm, and 12.42%, respectively, were loaded with 1% and 2% CH, and the release profile was investigated. The presence of BG in the membranes promoted fibroblastic proliferation and the presence of CH provided antibacterial properties. Nanofibrous membranes exhibit a high ability to restrict bacterial growth while fulfilling the necessary conditions for use as a dental barrier thanks to their low swelling rates, significant surface bioactivities, and appropriate degradation levels. © 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC
