Data have been recorded using 14 channels EEG from four male participants. The power of delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma frequency bands have been recorded and used to classify the collected data. Decision tree pre-processing method have been used to select the attributes of frequency bands and electrodes. To classify the data, support vector machines (SVM), linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and logistic regression (LR) machine learning algorithms have been used. It was found that it was separated %82.25 with SVM, %81 with LDA and %80.75 with LR. The results of three algorithms have shown similar scores. © 2019 IEEE
The Plight of Marginalized Women in Khaled Hosseini’s a Thousand Splendid Suns in ‘The Third World Feminism’
Third World Feminism’ investigates into the resistance and portrayal of women in literature in the oppressive and marginalizing territories. Postcolonial feminism highlights a tendency towards universalizing women by focusing on the involvement of women in the Western lifestyle in the war-stricken lands where they have been, on the one hand, segregated as inferior; yet, on the other hand, upheld as the instigators of resistance towards the betterment of societies in which the full impact of a misguided patriarchal rule breaks the women down emotionally, who are abused, deceived and controlled. Thus, this paper aims at displaying the observations considering local culture, gender discrimination and female passive resistance as far as collected from Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns. The novel depicts the conflicts of identification of the women which pave the way for the degradation applied on the characters. Subsequently, from a postcolonial feministic perspective, the paper attempts to investigate the plights of women, which are enforced on them through the patriarchal components and standards of culture

Characterisation and comparison of disc brake pads of heavy vehicles by experimental methods
In this study, characteristics of disc brake pads of heavy vehicles produced by three different manufacturers were compared experimentally. The former pad is the original (OEM), the latter pad is the subsidiary industrial production (SIPM), and the third pad is the Turkish production (TM). These brake pads which have different compositions; components, wear and friction characteristics, mechanical and physical properties were investigated and also the environment and usage were compared among each other. For chemical analysis, energy distribution spectroscopy (EDS) system integrated with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) device were used. Thermal gravimetric (TG) analysis was performed to determine the mass losses in the pad materials. Wear friction tests of pads were made according to JIS D 4411 standard. Apart from these, the hardness, density and internal shear strength values of the pads are measured
Dynamic time warping based connectivity classification of event-related potentials
Human brain electrical responses measured as Electroencephalogram epochs have different characteristics by means of amplitude and frequency content depending on the conditions and stimuli. Event-related potentials are the responses given to the stimuli and can be measured using the EEG. The average of these epochs are computed to remove the background activity and helps to exhibit the response to stimuli solely. In the concept of this study, dynamic time warping based connectivity features are used to classify the single-trial ERP epochs. Color Stroop test was implemented and ERP data are collected from 10 subjects. Support vector machine and K-NN classifiers are used and accurate classification results are achieved with the use of DTW metrics. © 2019 IEEE
The impact of US monetary growth on Bitcoin trading volume in the current economic uncertainty
This study examines the effect of US monetary growth on Bitcoin trading volume. To achieve this purpose, firstly, the symmetric causality test is used. Following this test, another symmetric causality test is used to reveal a time-varying causal effect between variables. The data set covers the period from July 2010 to July 2019. The results of the first symmetric causality test, which considers the time interval of the study data as a whole, show that there is no causal relationship between variables. According to the results of the second causality test, these support the previous results substantially. However, an interesting detail is the causal relationship between variables for the period between April 2019 and July 2019. The reason for this relationship could be that investors who are indecisive during the current economic uncertainty add Bitcoin to their portfolios in response to the Federal Reserve's decisions. © 2020, IGI Global
Experiential Destination Marketing and Tourist Behavior: A Research on Senior Tourists
Destination tourism activities and objects, by their very nature, are experience based and have a high potential in terms of experiential
marketing’s applicability. In this regard, it has been aimed to adapt strategic experiential marketing modules (sense, feel, act, think
and relate) to the destination of Istanbul and to analyze the effect of those components on the satisfaction level and behavioral
intentions (loyalty, intention to pay more and negative WOM) of senior tourists visiting Istanbul, Turkey. Data were collected by a
self-administrative questionnaire on senior visitors. The results of structural equation model showed direct and indirect relations
between strategic experiential marketing modules, experiential satisfaction and behavioral intentions
Analysis of the Relationship between Real Effective Exchange Rate, Common Equity Tier 1 Ratio and Return on Equity: Evidence from Turkey
The analysis of the relationship between exchange rate fluctuations, common equity and return on equity is of high importance
to be able to improve adequate policies with the purpose of maintaining stability in foreign exchange rate, when it is taken into
consideration that mentioned fluctuations lead to the loss in bank capital and profitability. Hence, the studies in the related
literature have been increasing in great amount recently. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between
real effective exchange rate, common equity and return on equity in the period of 2014:01 - 2018:09. The unit root properties of
the series are tested by using Carrion-i Silvestre et al.(2009) unit root test and the cointegration relationship between the series
is investigated by employing Maki(2012) cointegration test. Both tests take into account multiple structural breaks. The results
indicate that there is only a long run relationship between real effective exchange rate and return on equity for Turkish Banking
Sector with structural breaks
