Synthesis of aloe vera loaded chitosan nanoparticle with ionic gelling method
2019 Scientific Meeting on Electrical-Electronics and Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science, EBBT 2019 -- 24 April 2019 through 26 April 2019 --Aloe Vera, a long-lived and xeromorphic plant, is known for its therapeutic properties. Several beneficial effects have been reported including AV, hypoglycemic, wound and burn healing, gastroprotective, anticancer, antifungal and anti- inflammatory properties. Chitosan, a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer, has attracted the interest of scientists in recent years thanks to its antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal effects. In this study, production of AV loaded chitosan nanoparticles was investigated. Tripolyphosphate (TPP) was used as crosslinker. Field Emission Gun Scanning Electron Microscopy (FEG-SEM) was used to determine the surface characterization and size of chitosan nanoparticles produced by ionic gelation technique. In addition, UV-Spectrometry was used to determine the amount of AV loaded into the produced nanoparticles. AV loaded chitosan nanoparticles produced in this study, as well as antibacterial and antifungal properties, as well as the active substance loading capacities are high and can be designed according to the desired area in many areas (cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, biomedical and tissue engineering, etc.) can be used as a candidate material. © 2019 IEEE
Plow, Adolescent Fertility and Foreign Direct Investment
WOS: 000473781000007Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of adolescent fertility on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). We used cross country data for the year of 2014 to unravel the causal relation. Design/methodology/approach - To eliminate the risk of possible omitted variable bias, and reverse causality we use an instrumental variable approach. The instruments used are the plow use variable, and the variable showing the years since the transition to agriculture identifying the male dominant cultural values. Findings - 2SLS estimation results indicate that adolescent fertility increases FDI. In particular, the result shows that the lower bargaining power of the women at the job market due to a rise in early age fertility would stimulate FDI inflows. Research limitations/implications - The research proposes the presence of causality running from adolescent fertility to FDI and invites future empirical investigation using richer data set. Originality/value - The results provide significant implications for both gender distribution of labor market earnings and the applied labor economics. The study is the first study in the literature exploring the nexus between these variables, thus, has significant contribution. Paper type - Research pape
Measurements of the absolute branching fractions and CP asymmetries for D+ -> (KS,LK+)-K-0 (pi(0))
Using e(+)e(-) collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb(-1) taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we determine the absolute branching fractions B(D+ -> (KSK+)-K-0) = (3.02 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.08) x 10(-3), B(D+ -> (KSK+)-K-0 pi(0)) = (5.07 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.23) x 10(-3), B(D+ -> (KLK+)-K-0) = (3.21 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.11) x 10(-3), and B(D+ -> (KLK+)-K-0 pi(0)) = (5.24 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.22) x 10(-3), where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The branching fraction B(D+ -> (KSK+)-K-0) is consistent with the world average value and the other three branching fractions are measured for the first time. We also measure the CP asymmetries for the four decays and do not find a significant deviation from zero
Study of e(+)e(-) -> gamma omega J/psi and Observation of X(3872) -> omega J/psi
Kolcu, Onur Buğra (Arel Author)We study the e(+)e(-) -> gamma omega J/psi process using 11.6 fb(-1) e(+)e(-) annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from root s = 4.008 GeV to 4.600 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. The X(3872) resonance is observed for the first time in the omega J/psi system with a significance of more than 5 sigma. The relative decay ratio of X(3872) -> omega J/psi and pi(+)pi(-)J/psi is measured to be R = 1.6(-0.3)(+0.4) +/- 0.2, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic (the same hereafter). The root s-dependent cross section of e(+)e(-) -> gamma X(3872) is also measured and investigated, and it can be described by a single Breit- Wigner resonance, referred to as the Y(4200), with a mass of 4200.6(-13.3)(+7.9) +/- 3.0 MeV/c(2) and a width of 115(-26)(+38) +/- 12 MeV. In addition, to describe the omega J/psi mass distribution above 3.9 GeV/c(2), we need at least one additional Breit-Wigner resonance, labeled as X(3915), in the fit. The mass and width of the X(3915) are determined. The resonant parameters of the X(3915) agree with those of the Y(3940) in B -> K omega J/psi and of the X(3915) in gamma gamma -> omega J/psi observed by the Belle and BABAR experiments within errors
Observation of a cross-section enhancement near mass threshold in e(+)e(-) -> Lambda(Lambda)over-bar
The process e(+)e(-) -> Lambda(Lambda) over bar is studied using data samples at root s = 2.2324, 2.400, 2.800 and 3.080 GeV collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross section is measured at root s = 2.2324 GeV, which is 1.0 MeVabove the Lambda(Lambda) over bar mass threshold, to be 305 +/- 45(-36)(+66) pb, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The cross section near threshold is larger than that expected from theory, which predicts the cross section to vanish at threshold. The Born cross sections at root s = 2.400, 2.800 and 3.080 GeV are measured and found to be consistent with previous experimental results, but with improved precision. Finally, the corresponding effective electromagnetic form factors of Lambda are deduced
Examination of dielectric response of Au/HgS-PVA/n-Si (MPS) structure by impedance spectroscopy method
Taşçıoğlu, İlke (Arel Author)HgS-PVA nanoparticles were obtained via a simple ultrasound-assisted method. The structural and morphological characteristics of the products were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The optical properties were also analyzed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The XRD pattern demonstrated that the samples were high purity and no impurity other peaks were detected. The optical band gap was calculated by Tauc plot measured as 2.4 eV and a blue shift of about 0.3 eV due to the quantum confinement of charge carriers in a small nanostructure was observed. The surface of the samples consisting of nano-sized particles and the energy between the functional group were proved by SEM measurement and FTIR analysis techniques, respectively. Dielectric behavior was examined in the frequency range of 1 kHz-5MHz by using admittance (C-V and G/omega-V) measurements. The effect of surface states (N-ss) and polarization processes are dominant especially at low frequencies which lead to large discrepancies in C and G values. The dielectric constant value epsilon' reduces with the frequency increments, whereas the ac electrical conductivity sigma(ac) increases, depending on the nature of reducing polarization and series resistance (R-s) effect. The epsilon ''-V and tan delta-V plots give a peak in the inversion region and the magnitude of this peak reduces with the frequency increments, shifting towards the accumulation region that can be ascribed to a frequency dependent dielectric relaxation
Complete Measurement of the. Electromagnetic Form Factors
The exclusive process e(+)e(-) -> Lambda(Lambda) over bar, with Lambda -> p pi(-) and (Lambda) over bar -> (p) over bar pi(+), has been studied at root s = 2.396 GeV for measurement of the timelike Lambda electric and magnetic form factors, G(E) and G(M). A data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 66.9 pb(-1), was collected with the BESIII detector for this purpose. A multidimensional analysis with a complete decomposition of the spin structure of the reaction enables a determination of the modulus of the ratio R = vertical bar G(E)/G(M)vertical bar and, for the first time for any baryon, the relative phase Delta Phi = Phi(E) - Phi(M). The resulting values are R = 0.96 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.02(syst) and Phi(F) = 37 degrees +/- 12 degrees (stat) +/- 6 degrees (syst), respectively. These are obtained using the recently established and most precise value of the asymmetry parameter alpha(Lambda) = 0.750 +/- 0.010 measured by BESIII. In addition, the cross section is measured with unprecedented precision to be sigma = 118.7 +/- 5.3(stat) +/- 5.1(syst) pb, which corresponds to an effective form factor of vertical bar G vertical bar = 0.123 +/- 0.003(stat) +/- 0.003(syst). The contribution from two-photon exchange is found to be negligible. Our result enables the first complete determination of baryon timelike electromagnetic form factors
Observation of the Leptonic Decay D+ →τ+ντ
We report the first observation of D+→τ+ντ with a significance of 5.1σ. We measure B(D+→τ+ντ)=(1.20±0.24stat±0.12syst)×10-3. Taking the world average B(D+→μ+νμ)=(3.74±0.17)×10-4, we obtain Rτ/μ=Γ(D+→τ+ντ)/Γ(D+→μ+νμ)=3.21±0.64stat±0.43syst., which is consistent with the standard model expectation of lepton flavor universality. Using external inputs, our results give values for the D+ decay constant fD+ and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcd| that are consistent with, but less precise than, other determinations.

Bankacılık sektöründe sermaye-karlılık ilişkisi büyük önem arzetmekte ve sermaye yeterliliği düzenlemelerinin
bankacılık sektörünün karlılığı ve etkinliği üzerindeki etkileri ile bu etkilerin büyüklüğü birçok çalışmaya konu
olmaktadır. Özellikle, 2008 yılından itibaren A.B.D ve A.B’de yaşanan krizler, sermaye düzenlemelerindeki
yetersizliklerin, krizlerin ortaya çıkması ve büyümesindeki rolünün daha ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelenmesine yol
açmıştır. Türk Bankacılık Sektörü incelendiğinde, gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde faaliyet gösteren birçok
bankaya göre, yüksek sermaye yeterlilik ve karlılık rasyoları dikkati çekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1980-2017
dönemi için, Türk Bankacılık Sektörü sermaye yeterliliğine ve karlılığa ilişkin yıllık veriler kullanılarak, sermaye
yeterliliği ile sektör karlılığı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Karlılığa ilişkin indikatörler olarak ROE ve NFM
bağımlı değişkenler, sermaye yeterliliğine ilişkin olarak ise, özsermaye/toplam varlıklar ve
özsermaye/mevduat+mevduat-dışı kaynaklar oranları bağımsız değişkenler olarak çalışmada kullanılmaktadır.
Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar, sermaye yeterliliğini gösteren sözkonusu oranlar ile karlılık indikatörleri arasında
uzun dönemli ilişkiler olduğunu göstermektedir
Ebeveyn Çocuk Kapsayıcı İşlev Ölçeği Geliştirme
Öz. Çocuk kliniğinde karşılaşılan çocuk sorunları ile ailelerin tutumları arasında belli ilişkiler
vardır. Bu ilişkilerin geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracıyla tespit edilmesi, tedaviye yardımcı
olacak bir enstrüman olabilecektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, ailelerin çocuk yetiştirirken
gösterdikleri tutumların ölçülmesine olanak sağlayacak psikanalitik kurama göre uyarlanmış
bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Uygulama aşamasında ailelere, araştırmacılar tarafından
hazırlanan demografik bilgi formu, geliştirilmesi planlanan ölçek verilmiş; İstanbul il
genelinde 1042 adet (0-14) yaş çocuk ailesiyle görüşme yoluyla uygulama yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin
geliştirilme aşamaları içinde kapsam geçerliliği, yapı geçerliliği ile iç tutarlılık ve test tekrar
test güvenilirlik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Yapı geçerliliği için açımlayıcı faktör analizi
yapılmıştır. İç tutarlılık güvenirliliği test etmek için madde toplam korelasyon ve Cronbach’s
Alpha değerlerine bakılmış, test tekrar test tekniği için ölçek 3 hafta arayla aynı gruba tekrar
uygulanarak sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda yüksek geçerlilik ve
güvenirlilik değerlerine sahip 5 faktörlü yapı elde edilmişti
