حمكا واتجاهاته في استخراج الدروس والعبر من الآيات المتعلقة بأحداث السيرة النبوية: دراسة تحليلية في تفسير الأزهر: Hamka and his trends in extracting the highlights and lessons from the verses related to prophetic history: An analytical study in Tafsir al-Azhar
This paper aims to discover the trends of Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (HAMKA) in extracting the highlights and lessons from the verses related to prophetic history (Fiqh al-Sīrah) through his Tafsir al-Azhar. The importance of the research stems from the fact that it deals with the best and most comprehensive exegesis written in the Malay language. Moreover, Hamka was a polymath Muslim scholar who possessed a great level of sciences and skills, and at the same time, he was also a preacher, reformer, politician and writer. This study is based on the descriptive-analytical method in describing Hamka's biography, his methods in interpreting the verses, and his trends in extracting highlights and lessons from those verses. This research found that the most important Hamka’s trends are: clarifying highlights and lessons in Islamic propagation and politics, emphasising highlights and lessons in belief and behaviour, relating the prophetic history’s reflections to the current situation, linking the highlights and lessons of the prophetic history’s reflections to the Islamic-Nationalism ideology, finding out the jurisprudence rulings deduced from the prophetic events, and correcting the society’s understandings and reforming its entity. These trends are reflections of Hamka's missions in Islamic propagation, reform, politics, and society. Therefore, this research will make a scientific contribution to the field of reflection on prophetic history and Quranic exegesis (al-Tafsīr); where it presents a model of the practical and living approach in extracting the highlights and lessons of the prophetic history from the first source, which is the Holy Quran

The opportunities and challenges of the halal food industry in Indonesia: Some notes from Quranic and economic perspectives: Peluang dan cabaran industri makanan halal di Indonesia: Beberapa catatan daripada perspektif al-Quran dan ekonomi
With all the potential that Indonesia has, the halal industry should be optimised to build the economy and improve people's lives. This study aims to look further at the opportunities and challenges of Indonesia's halal food and beverage industry. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and SWOT analysis techniques. The results showed that Indonesia has excellent food and beverage industry opportunities. For example, Indonesia has seen high growth in the number of Muslims. The target market in Indonesia is enormous, public awareness of consuming halal food continues to increase, and technology development is rapid. The existence of e-commerce and media continues to grow. In terms of financing, there are many options for alternative financing platforms and collaboration opportunities with Islamic banking and financial institutions. However, this opportunity has not been fully utilised. Indonesia still has to face various challenges from various sides, such as limited access to international markets, a lack of research on market movements, and a low utilisation of information technology to develop this industry. Meanwhile, the forms of policies from the central and regional governments are still not aligned, and the bureaucracy for inter-sectoral cooperation is still relatively small. By looking at the results of the positioning analysis through the SWOT technique, it is recommended that the Indonesian halal food industry implement a growth strategy through horizontal integration. In this position, the Indonesian halal food industry has an excellent opportunity to grow by developing the halal food and beverage industry
Pendekatan tafsir Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang dalam berinteraksi dengan riwayat Isrā’iliyyāt: Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang’s interpretation method in interacting with the Isrā’iliyyāt’s narration
Interpretation scholars used Isrā’īliyyāt’s narration while interpreting qaṣaṣ al-Qur’ān by using different approaches, such as narrating part of the Isrā’īliyyāt’s narration, focusing the narration on a specific category, or not giving any commentary on its status. This narration could divert the reader’s focus from the teaching contained in the qaṣaṣ al-Qur’ān to a worthless debate. Therefore, this research analyses Abdul Hadi Awang’s interpretation method in interacting with Isrā’īliyyāt’s narration. This research uses a qualitative design based on content analysis. The collection of the research’s data was through document analysis of an audio recording of a few Quranic chapters interpreted by Abdul Hadi. NVivo software was applied to analyse the data descriptively. The findings of the research show that the Isrā’īliyyāt narration presented by Abdul Hadi was divided into two categories, namely narration that comes with commentary and narration without commentary. Besides, it was noted that the Isrā’īliyyāt narration found in Abdul Hadi’s interpretation was not his own source of interpretation; in fact, it was presented to attract the audience’s attention in his lecture
السمات الإيقاعية الخارجية في القصيدة "لأنك خير خلق الله حقا" لأحمد نناوي: دراسة تحليلية عروضية: External rhythmic features in the poem “Li Annaka Khayr Khalq Allāh Ḥaqqan” by Aḥmad Nanāwī: A prosodic analytical study
The prosodic study is a significant approach in literary works, as it concentrates on the structure that Arabic poetry depends on, and it is considered as the main pillar in the formation of external rhythm in Arabic poems. In this regard, this study will focus on uncovering the aesthetic features resulting from al-‘Arūḍ (Arabic prosody) and al-Qāfiyah (Rhyme) in the poem “Li Annaka Khayr Khalq Allāh Ḥaqqan” of Aḥmad Nanāwī. The study analyses the poem based on the science of prosody and rhyme by deploying the analytical method. In addition, this study concluded that the poet invested rhythmic dimension provided by the al-Baḥr al-Wāfir itself, as well as strengthening the rhythmic structure through the use of ziḥāf al-‘aṣb and scansion of the poem (al-Taqṭī‘ al-‘Arūḍi), to shed light on the intended goal of this poem, which was to extend a tribute to the Prophet (PBUH), in terms of defending him, as well as in response to the statements made against him by some extremists. The poet also became successful in choosing the letter al-lām with ḍamma vowel as the letter of rawī, as well as in composing the elements of rhyme, which raises the poem to the highest rhythmic intensity. It further confirms that the poet revealed his creativities that correspond to the poem’s nature
Cabaran pengajaran kursus mantik di Institut Pengajian Tinggi: Challenges of teaching logic in Institute of Higher Education
Logic (Manṭiq) began to appear and has developed in Islamic society through the translation of Greek works into Arabic. This discipline, which was considered the basis of philosophy, was also used by Islamic scholars to develop knowledge. Today, logic is offered as one of the courses for Usuluddin studies at the Institute of Higher Education (IHE). Based on previous studies, it was found that the students were still unable to understand and master this field of knowledge. Although some of them understand the theory, their level of mastery needs to be improved. Thus, this study aims to identify the challenges faced by lecturers in the process of teaching and learning logic. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach by presenting a case study as a research design. Purposive sampling was used, involving the university lecturers who teach logic and are located in the Klang Valley. Data was obtained through semi-structured interviews and then analysed using a thematic approach (thematic analysis). The results of the study show that the challenges faced by lecturers in teaching logic are more focused on their theoretical nature and difficulty in understanding. At the same time, lecturers need to be creative in presenting examples and address the issue of students’ limitations in understanding the relationship between logic and other sciences. This study also identified the need to diversify teaching methods among lecturers, such as through a blended learning approach, in an effort to attract and encourage students to master the subject
Strategi penterjemahan pantun Melayu-Arab dalam siri animasi Upin & Ipin: Malay-Arabic pantun translation strategies in animated series of Upin & Ipin
Upin & Ipin is a Malay-language-based animated series produced by Les’ Copaque Production that is televised to educate children about the month of Ramadan. Given the immensely positive reaction from the viewers, this animated series has been expanded in production and translated into a number of different languages, including Arabic, through the use of subtitling or dubbing. The dialogue translation process of this animated series employs Malay pantun, which are particularly difficult to translate into other languages. Many studies related to pantun have been conducted, but the majority of them have emphasised the meaning and values found in pantun. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate Malay ‘pantun’ in Upin & Ipin based on ‘pantun’ theories by Mat Piah (1989) and its translation into Arabic based on translation strategies by Vinay & Darbelnet (1958/1995) and Veisbergs (1997). The focus of this study is on the equivalence of Malay-Arabic ‘pantun’ translation, specifically in terms of translation strategies used, word selection, and ‘pantun’ rhyming. This is a descriptive study that takes a qualitative approach. The findings revealed that the majority of Malay ‘pantun’ in this animated series adheres to Mat Piah’s (1989) 'pantun' characteristics, and seven translation strategies were employed: literal translation, transposition, modulation, equivalence, adaptation, addition, and omission. The researchers suggested that more studies on the translation of Malay animation into Arabic should be done from several perspectives, such as songs, cultural aspects, linguistic decency, and so on
al-Iṣlāḥ menurut Muḥammad al-Makkī al-Nāṣirī dan penerapannya dalam mendepani fasa endemik: al-Iṣlāḥ according to Muḥammad al-Makkī al-Nāṣirī and its application in facing the endemic phase
On April 1, 2022, Malaysia entered the endemic phase after transitioning from the pandemic. This transition is intended to allow Malaysians to resume life after dealing with COVID-19. Therefore, the reconciliation process will be accelerated to ensure the country's welfare. Including the Islamic religious point of view is one of the important strategies. Many Islamic scholars contribute ideas to enlighten society, in addition to other strategies such as finance, health, and others. For example, a Moroccan Islamic scholar named Muhammad al-Makkī al-Nāṣirī who has a tafsir entitled al-Taysīr fī Aḥadīth al-Tafsīr. As a result, this research was carried out to examine Muhammad al-Makkī al-Nāṣirī’s thoughts on Al-Iṣlāḥ through his tafsir as well as its application in dealing with the endemic phase. The methodology used is a qualitative study by analyzing the verses of the Qur'an that contain words rooted from Ṣād - Lām - Ḥā' in the tafsir al-Taysīr fī Aḥadīth al-Tafsīr. Following that, the findings will be discussed thematically, as well as their application in facing the endemic phase. According to the findings, the process of restoring the endemic phase is not limited to external factors such as environmental reform, but also the spiritual collapse and social conflict between communities, which are also part of the cause of the calamity that afflicts the entire global population. In this regard, this study is significant for all parties working to improve the world after the COVID-19 pandemic while also broadening the dimensions of the improvement strategy in the endemic phase. On April 1, 2022, Malaysia entered an endemic phase after transitioning from the Covid-19 pandemic. This transition period is intended to allow Malaysians to resume normal life after dealing with the outbreak for the past two years. Therefore, the reforming process is accelerated to ensure the country's welfare, which has suffered severely and negatively. The religious point of view, particularly Islam, is one of the most important areas in reforming strategies. Many Islamic scholars contributed spiritual ideas to enlighten society and other strategies, such as finance and health. For example, a Moroccan Islamic scholar named Muḥammad al-Makkī al-Nāṣirī worked on a tafsir entitled al-Taysīr fī Aḥādīth al-Tafsīr. Hence, this research was carried out to examine al-Nāṣirī’s thoughts on al-Iṣlāḥ through his tafsir, as well as their applications in dealing with the endemic phase. The study used a qualitative methodology that involved analysing the verses of the Quran that contain words rooted from ṣād - lām - ḥā’ in the tafsir. The findings were then discussed thematically as their applications to the issues confronting the endemic phase. According to the analysis, restoring the endemic phase is not limited to external factors such as environmental reform. It is also necessary to focus on the spiritual collapse and social conflict between communities, which are also part of the causes of world calamity. In this regard, this study is significant for all parties working to improve the world after the Covid-19 pandemic while broadening the dimensions of the improvement strategy in the endemic phase
Penetapan harta asas pembayaran diat dalam konteks Malaysia: Determining the basis of diyya payment property in the Malaysian context
Islam provides a unique two-pronged legal mechanism known as diyya. Diyya is not just punishment for the offender in the form of a fine but also compensation for the victim. A certain amount of money must be paid by the offender. Unlike summonses, the compensation paid belongs to the victim and is not taken by the authorities. However, in the context of the implementation of diyya, the questions that arise are: who will bear the burden of this, and what property can be used as a medium of payment? Hence, this article will describe the concept of diyya property in its implementation situation in Malaysia and the types of property that can be used for diyya payment. This article will also focus on the diyya rate and methods to set the rate in Malaysia. The methodology used is a library research method based on primary sources such as hadith and secondary sources from the collection of documentation such as books, articles, journals, working papers, internet sources, newspapers, and others. This article sums up the concept of main property in a country. In the context of Malaysia, it is the national currency, which is the Malaysian Ringgit (RM). The ratio of the exchange of Dirham to RM transactions is applicable in Malaysia
Interpretasi partikel wacana ‘Lah’ berdasarkan ilmu Balaghah: Interpretation of discourse particle ‘Lah’ based on knowledge of Balāghah
The development of studies in Malay and Arabic has prompted researchers to construct an interpretation of the discourse particle ‘lah’ based on the Arabic linguistic perspective. This research adapted methods used by Sidnell in detailing aspects of interpretation choice with regard to discourse type, informants, and data transcription procedures. Recordings of the discourse on Wacana Sinar with the title “Plan for National Young Leaders/Pelan Pemimpin Muda Untuk Negara” are used. The interview involved a moderator and three panel members from the government and the opposition parties. In the process of developing interpretation for the discourse particle ‘lah’, knowledge of Arabic Balāghah is adapted to its use in Malay. Based on this knowledge, specifically on knowledge of al-ma’ānī, analysis to build the discourse interpretation of the particle ‘lah’ is focused on the form of spoken speech (khabarī), aspects of the structure of speech (isnād) and aspects of language style (uslūb). The result of this study indicated two interpretations of the discourse particle ‘lah’. One is indicative of the speech structure used (isnād). Apart from that, twelve other interpretations of the discourse particle ‘lah’ are based on aspects of language style (uslūb). This cross-language study is expected to increase knowledge of the elements of Arabic, which in turn enables it to re-dignify the Malay language
