Kefahaman mahasiswa Muslim Lembah Klang tentang konsep hak kebebasan beragama di Malaysia : The understanding of Klang Valley Muslim students on the concept of religious freedom in Malaysia
The concept of religious freedom based on the Islamic perspective and the National Constitution is not absolute and limited. Because of that, several groups of Non-Governmental organizations (NGOs) emerged, such as the Islam Interfaith Commission (IFC) or Inter-Religious Centre (IRC), the Group of Article 11, and the Coalition of Malaysian NGOs in the UPR Process (COMANGO), which called for an absolute understanding of religious freedom as it is set forth in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Among the issues repeatedly associated with religious freedom in Malaysia is the issue of apostasy. Therefore, this research is conducted to identify the level of Muslim students’ understanding of the concept of religious freedom in Malaysia. This research is qualitative and exploratory-based, using a set of questionnaires as an instrument to collect data. By using the purposive sampling method, a total of 404 respondents were selected among Muslim students at government or private higher learning institutions in the Klang Valley. The research found that the level of Muslim students understanding of the concept of religious freedom at Klang Valley is high, with a minimum score of 4.32 (sd = 0.82). This finding shows that although there are several issues concerning religious freedom and a variety of demands from NGOs who are promoting the new and liberal concept of religious freedom, Muslim students still continue to understand the concept as it was institutionalized in the National Constitution and Islamic principles
Promoting behavior-based safety with Islamic principles: Menggalakkan keselamatan berasaskan tingkah laku dengan prinsip Islam
Occupational safety and health are concerned with all aspects of employees' physical, mental, and social health and safety. Being a labor-related issue, several laws in every country ensure the safety, health, and welfare of people engaged in work. Therefore, it becomes the legal responsibility of the employer to provide a safe workplace for employees. However, without employee participation, state legislation and employers' efforts can do little to make the workplace safe and healthy. Employee behavior is considered a key element in ensuring safety at the workplace. Human behavior includes the way an individual acts based on various factors such as genetics, social norms, core faith, and attitude. Thus, religion plays a vital role in reinforcing safe work behaviors. Islam has a strong effect on the lifestyle and behavior of its adherents. In this conceptual paper, principles and guidelines offered by Islam related to safety and health are highlighted. An effort has been made to look into the basic sources of Islam to find out principles and guidelines related to safety, health, and the environment. Behavior-based safety, from an Islamic perspective, is concerned with creating a work environment based on the principles of brotherhood, mutuality, cooperation, mercy, kindness, and benevolence. It is observed that the Islamic approach to occupational safety and health is not limited to compliance with organizational safety procedures. Still, it is a religious obligation and a divine calling
Analisis perbandingan metode Hermeneutik dan Tafsīr bi al-Ra’yī dalam penafsiran al-Quran: Comparative analysis on Hermeneutic and Tafsir bi al-Ra’yī in Quranic exegesis
Hermenutics, a method of interpreting the Qur’an, was first introduced by a controversial Muslim Scholar, Hasan Hanafi. His effort is followed by some other Muslim scholars such as Fazlur Rahmān, Naṣr Ḥāmid Abū Zayd and Muḥammad Arkoun. Apparently, Hermeneutics is similar to Tafsīr bi al-Ra’yī which employs pure reason and logic as the medium of interpreting the Qur’an. However, to a certain extent, Hermeneutics has significant differences from the concept of Tafsīr bi al-Ra’yī which encourages a large number of Muslim scholars to reject hermeneutics in understanding the Qur’an. Hence, this article is meant to epistemologically evaluate Hermeneutics in terms of its definition, history, development, scholars, and comparison with Tafsīr bi al-Ra’yī

The study found that the hadith describes faith as the foundation of spiritual intelligence. In addition, the study also found that among the spiritual elements highlighted in hadiths are piety, love towards Allah and the Prophet, self-confidence, and steadfast patience
The notion of liberalisation on the Anti-Hadith Movement and its impact on society: Idea liberalisasi dalam Gerakan Anti Hadith dan impaknya kepada masyarakat
In the 18th century, the West pioneered a surge of modernisation as a force of imperialism created the idea of Islamic-oriented liberalisation in the West’s conquest countries. This Western European-led modernisation stems from the network of a capitalist economy, technological issues, social influence, and changes in political power worldwide. This perpetuated questions among Muslim philosophers about the weakness of Muslims and their decline compared to the exponential growth of Western Civilisation. At the same time, rationalism and historical criticism aided the reign of colonialists, becoming the prime motivation for European Orientalists to take a critical approach towards the study of hadiths in Islamic countries. There is a scarcity of Muslim scholars who are influenced and fascinated by Western Orientalists’ ‘new’ Islamic discourse and thinking, and then adapt them as an alternative solution to Muslim issues worldwide. Therefore, this article elaborates on Islamic liberalisation efforts, especially those that touch on the issues of hadiths raised by a group well-established as the Anti-Hadith Movement (AHM). Among the issues raised are the relevance of the hadiths’ teaching in a modern era as well as the authority of the hadiths play-acting as a medium driving progress or regression. The outcome of the study finds that AHM invites implications and confusion to society in the form of Western thinking, as well as the civilisation that shapes Islamic modern thinking

The Syariah Court in Malaysia possesses executive jurisdiction in deciding upon matters related to creed and religious status. The jurisdiction aims to restrain the signs of heresy and renunciation of the religion of Islam among Muslims. There were no clear and standardized legal provisions regarding repentance orders (istitābah) at the state level. The study also provides implications and several recommendations for improving creed restoration practice
Konsep Malakah Ibnu Khaldun dalam konteks pengajaran yang menerapkan Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT): Ibnu Khaldun concept of Malakah in the teaching context that implementing High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
High-order thinking skills (HOTS) are a transformation in the education system in Malaysia this century, in line with the implementation of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025. The practice of implementing HOTS has outperformed the entire subject content concept by focusing on several HOTS theories, in particular the Bloom and Marzano taxonomy. However, for the Islamic Education subjects based on the Quran and As-Sunnah, the implementation of this HOTS element needs to be translated through the basis of the Islamic Education Philosophy, which puts the perfection of intellectual education as the main thrust in driving this thinking culture. The emergence of figures such as Ibn Khaldun, who speaks thoroughly of the mind-based concept of Malakah, has sparked diversity in the perspective of the understanding of HOTS. For this reason, this study uses the analysis process by analyzing the literature by examining the contents of a synonymy or summarizing the meaning of the poor concept of Ibn Khaldun in the context of the teaching of Islamic education subjects. The results of this study resulted in four basic concepts in the application of HOTS through the use of Malakah combined with the use of 'aql tamyizi, 'aql tajribi, 'aql nazari and insaniyah fact. In general, the implementation of Islamic Education PdP, which implements HOTS, should focus on the process and philosophy of teaching that Ibn Khaldun has established to ensure that students' understanding, appreciation, and practice assess the requirements set out on the basis of the Islamic Education Philosophy
