The Vitamin D Intake, Probiotic Intake, and Infection Incidence and Nutritional Status in Children Aged 24–59 Months

    No full text
Stunting remains a major nutritional problem among children in Indonesia. The 2022 SSGI reported a stunting prevalence of 21,6% nationally, 20,8% in Central Java Province, and 28,9% in Temanggung Regency. Vitamin D plays a role in bone growth and immune regulation, probiotics support gut microbiota balance and nutrient absorption, and infection incidence may affect nutritional status. This study aimed to examine the relationship between vitamin D intake, probiotic intake, and infection incidence with nutritional status (height-for-age) among children aged 24–59 months in Temanggung Regency. An analytical survey with a cross-sectional design was conducted in March 2024. The population consisted of all under-five children in Temanggung Regency, with 55 subjects selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through direct height measurements and interviews using questionnaires, including 24-hour dietary recall, infection history, and supplement consumption. The results showed no significant association between vitamin D intake, probiotic intake, or infection incidence and height-for-age (p-value > 0,05). This may be influenced by recall bias and the lack of assessment of infection duration and frequency. Further studies should explore other risk factors contributing to stunting in Temanggung Regency

This study aims to investigate household organic waste management practices for eco enzyme production as a recycling effort in Baturetno. The specific objectives of this study are to educate the public about the benefits and process of eco enzyme production, and to measure the program's effectiveness in reducing the volume of organic waste disposed of. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at a resident's home in RT 10, Bumen Wetan, Baturetno, Banguntapan, Bantul. This activity involved 15 participants who took part in outreach and training on organic waste management and eco enzyme production. Data were collected through direct observation and interviews with participants to gain an in-depth understanding of their practices and perceptions. The results of the activity showed that through outreach and training, participants gained a better understanding of the importance of organic waste management and the eco enzyme production process. Participants were able to practice making eco enzymes correctly using the tools and materials provided. The production of eco enzymes not only helps reduce the volume of organic waste but also results in a natural cleaning product suitable for everyday use. The active participation of the community in this program demonstrates the great potential for implementing similar practices in other communitie

SEHAT (Holistic Acupressure Touch to Overcome Emesis Gravidarum) training for Posyandu cadres in supporting the health of pregnant women was held in Kondongia village, Lohia sub-district, Muna district on October 15–17, 2025. This activity aims to improve the skills of Posyandu cadres in performing acupressure as a non-pharmacological complementary effort to overcome emesis gravidarum. The implementation method includes socialization, theoretical and practical training, and direct assistance in the field. The results of the activity showed an increase in cadre skills. Before the training, 85,71% of cadres were in the category of unable or unskilled in performing acupressure techniques. After the training, cadre skills increased with 33,33% being able to perform acupressure with little guidance and 66,66% being able to do it independently and correctly. A positive impact was also seen in the condition of pregnant women who were the targets of assistance, where there was a significant decrease in the frequency of emesis gravidarum. Before acupressure, 49,33% of pregnant women experienced mild and 20% severe emesis gravidarum, while after the intervention, only 14,66% experienced mild, 4% severe, and 68% did not experience emesis gravidarum. These results indicate that acupressure is effective as a simple complementary therapy that can be taught to Posyandu cadres to improve the comfort of pregnant women and support holistic maternal health

    No full text
Adolescent girls are a group with a risk of experiencing a decrease in Hb, because every month they experience menstruation. Menstruation results in a lot of blood, the loss of blood is synonymous with the loss of red blood cells. The reduced number of red blood cells results in the ability of the blood to carry oxygen into the body. This study aimed to prove whether age, weight and menstruation (predictor variable) affect blood Hb (response variable). The results of the study was also to determine which predictor variable has a dominant influence on the response variable. This research was carried out at SMPN 1 Ngancar, Kediri Regency, developing a cross-sectional design of 80 students, subjects were randomly selected and willing to be a sample. The predictor variable consists of age (x1), weight (x2) and menstrual status (x3), while the response variable is blood haemoglobin (y). The results of the study determined that the predictor variables that affected the subjects' blood Hb levels were age and menstruation. Menstruation is a more dominant variable than the age of the subject. Subjects should increase awareness in consuming foods high in iron, as well as Fe supplements, especially during menstruation

Diabetic foot ulcers and blood glucose control are critical aspects of managing Diabetes Mellitus. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of compliance with blood glucose control and the risk of diabetic foot ulcers in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was employed. A total of 120 subjekts were selected proportionally from a population of 280 individuals in the working area of Bangkala Health Center, Makassar City, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. A purposive sampling technique was used, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using thechi-square test. The results showed that out of 66 subjekts who were compliant with blood glucose control, 52 were not at risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers, while 14 were at risk. Conversely, among the 54 non-compliant subjekts, 36 were at risk of developing diabetic ulcers, while 11 were not. Bivariate analysis revealed a p-value of 0.000,indicating a statistically significant relationship between the level of compliance with blood glucose control and the risk of diabetic foot ulcers. These findings support the hypothesis that effective blood glucose control significantly reduces the risk of diabetic foot ulcers in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus

Al-Qur'an Recitation Therapy on Reducing Maternal Anxiety Levels Before Caesarean Section

    No full text
Caesarean section delivery often triggered anxiety in pregnant women due to its invasive and risky nature. One method to reduce preoperative anxiety related to caesarean section was by administering Murottal Al-Qur’an therapy. Murottal Al-Qur’an was believed to help calm the patient's psychological condition through spiritual approaches and sensory stimulation, allowing mothers to feel more relaxed and think positively and optimistically. This study aimed to determine the effect of Murottal Al-Qur’an therapy on reducing anxiety levels in mothers before undergoing caesarean section. This research was a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The instrument used was the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test. A total of 17 subjects were selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that Murottal Al-Qur’an therapy had a significant effect on reducing maternal anxiety levels before caesarean section, with a p-value of 0,000 (p < 0,05). It is expected that this study could serve as a reference and be applied as an intervention for patients undergoing caesarean section to help reduce preoperative anxiety levels
