    No full text
This study aims to analyze the geosemiotic features of the linguistic landscape in Little Tokyo, Blok M, Jakarta, and to examine how these features function in representing real-world activities and sociocultural meanings. A qualitative research approach was employed using the geosemiotic framework proposed by Scollon and Scollon (2003) to categorize and interpret 402 signs displayed in the area. The signs were classified into three categories: official signs, private signs, and mixed signs, with private signs emerging as the most dominant. These included 50 restaurant signs, 82 shop signs, and 44 private advertisements. A closer geosemiotic analysis was conducted on the 50 restaurant signs by examining key components such as code preference, inscription, and emplacement. The findings reveal a strong presence of multilingualism, with Indonesian, Japanese, and English frequently used across the signage. The signs perform both informational and symbolic functions: they facilitate navigation and communication for visitors while simultaneously expressing the area’s distinctive cultural identity. Overall, the study demonstrates that the signage in Little Tokyo, Blok M plays a significant role in constructing and reinforcing a unique socio-cultural and spatial landscape

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the effect of Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) on Return on Equity (ROE) at PT Barito Pasific Tbk during the period 2014-2024. The method used is quantitative with multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the multicollinearity test indicate that there is no multicollinearity between independent variables, with tolerance and VIF values that meet the assumptions. The heteroscedasticity test shows that the data meets the required assumptions, while the Run-Test test shows that there is no autocorrelation. The resulting regression equation is Y = 23.477 + - 0.020 X1 – 0.291 X2 + e, which indicates that Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) is negatively related to Return on Equity (ROE) and Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) is negatively related to Return on Equity (ROE). The analysis results show that Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) together contribute 42% to Return on Equity (ROE), while the rest is influenced by other factors. The t-test shows that Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) do not have a significant effect. The F-test also confirms that Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) together have no significant effect on Return on Equity (ROE). This research provides useful insights for companies and investors in making financial decisions    Keywords : Debt to Equity Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio, Return on Equity, Capital Structure, Financial Performanc

Transformation of Agricultural Waste into Silica–Cellulose Microsponge Adsorbent for Optimization of Waste Cooking Oil as Biodiesel Feedstock

    No full text
The utilization of used cooking oil as a biodiesel feedstock is hindered by its high free fatty acid (FFA) content, which interferes with the transesterification process. This study aims to reduce FFA levels through adsorption using a silica–cellulose-based microsponge adsorbent synthesized from rice husk ash and corn cob waste. The investigated process variables include adsorbent mass (1, 3, 5 g), temperature (30, 45, 60 °C), contact time (30, 60, 90 minutes), and silica-to-cellulose ratios (40:60, 50:50, 60:40). FTIR analysis revealed characteristic peaks of Si–O–Si (~1053 cm⁻¹) and Si–O (~795 cm⁻¹) indicating the presence of amorphous silica, while the O–H stretching (~3200–3500 cm⁻¹) of cellulose appeared weaker due to silica dominance on the surface. This confirms the successful formation of the silica–cellulose composite with strong chemical interaction. Furthermore, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis showed a specific surface area of 87.77 m²/g with mesoporous characteristics, confirming the microsponge structure with high affinity toward polar molecules such as FFA. The optimum conditions were obtained at 5 g adsorbent mass, 30 °C, 60 minutes contact time, and a 60:40 silica-to-cellulose ratio, achieving an FFA reduction efficiency of 49.62%. These physicochemical properties make the adsorbent efficient, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly, highlighting the great potential of agricultural waste transformation into active materials for pre-purification of used cooking oil toward sustainable biodiesel production

Sintesis PAN-co-PMMA sebagai Compatibilizer pada Pencampuran Natural Rubber dan Nitrile Butadiene Rubber:Aplikasi dalam Pencampuran Karet Perapat

    No full text
Natural rubber (NR) and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) exhibit poor miscibility due to their differences in their solubility parameters. To improve compatibility, a PAN-co-PMMA compatibilizer was synthesized by copolymerizing acrylonitrile (AN) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) with potassium persulfate (K2S2O8) as the initiator. This study investigates the influence of initiator concentration on the characteristics of PAN-co-PMMA and evaluates the mechanical performance of NR/NBR blends incorporating the compatibilizer for rubber seal applications. PAN-co-PMMA was synthesized using a water-ethanol co-solvent at 65°C for 3 hours with a stirring speed of 400 rpm, using initiator concentrations of 1, 2, 3, dan 4 %wt and an AN: MMA ratio of 90:10 (%wt). The drying was conducted at 100°C for 3 hours. IR analysis confirmed successful copolymerization through the appearance of characteristic C≡N and C=O absorption bands. The addition of PAN-co-PMMA reduced curing time and significantly enhanced the tensile strength of the NR/NBR blends

    No full text
Demand for batteries continues to increase in line with the growth of electric vehicles, while the availability of lithium in nature is limited. One alternative is the use of renewable natural materials, such as coconut shells, to produce functional carbon materials. This study aims to synthesize graphene-like carbon (GLC) from coconut shells using pyrolysis and sonication methods. The process was carried out through drying at 150–200 °C and pyrolysis at 700 °C. XRD characterization showed main peaks at 2θ ≈ 23.11° and 43.75° (150 °C/700 °C), and 23.15° and 43.38° (200 °C/700 °C), with an interlayer spacing of 0.35 nm and a shift in the C (002) peak from pure graphite, indicating the formation of nanosized graphene layers. FTIR analysis confirmed the presence of O–H, aromatic C=C, C=O, and C–O groups, indicating a hexagonal carbon framework with oxygen functionality on the surface. The Raman spectrum showed ID/IG ratios of 0.84 and 0.83, indicating structural disorder while still consistent with graphene-like characteristics. Conductivity tests showed relatively stable electrical conductivity with gradual electron energy loss at small current increases, allowing better control of electron mobility

    No full text
This study examines the linguistic landscape of Taman Margasatwa Ragunan, a public zoo in Jakarta, by focusing on the types and functions of signs found in the area. Linguistic landscape studies are significant because public signage reflects how language is used for communication, regulation, and identity construction in public spaces. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of signs and their functions based on the framework proposed by Landry and Bourhis. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the data consist of 60 signs collected through direct observation and photographic documentation. The signs are classified into two types, namely government signs and private signs, and are analyzed according to two functions: informative and symbolic. The findings reveal that government signs are more dominant than private signs. In terms of function, informative signs occur more frequently than symbolic signs. These results suggest that the linguistic landscape of Taman Margasatwa Ragunan primarily serves practical communication purposes while simultaneously representing national identity. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of language use in Indonesian public spaces

Does ESG Performance Have An Influence on Enterprise Value? Evidence from Indonesia

    No full text
This study investigates the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance on enterprise value in publicly listed companies in Indonesia. Using 69 firm-year observations with complete ESG scores from the Bloomberg Terminal from 2021 to 2023, panel data regression is employed for analysis, which incorporates Tobin's Q as the dependent variable, ESG scores as independent variables, and leverage, firm size, and return on equity as control variables. The results reveal that none of the ESG pillars environmental, social, or governance significantly affect enterprise value suggesting that ESG initiatives do not generate measurable financial benefits in the short run. These findings are consistent with time horizon theory, which suggests that ESG initiatives generate immediate costs while their value creation benefits materialize in the long run. The study presents empirical evidence that in the short-term context, ESG performance is not yet viewed as a value enhancing signal for investors in the Indonesian capital market, highlighting the need for further research over extended observation periods to capture long term sustainability impacts
