Objective: To analyze the supply of input and procedures, non-invasive and micro-invasive, for dental caries lesions in Primary Care in Brazil, comparing the Brazilian geographic regions in three different periods. Material and Methods: Historical series study based on secondary data extracted from the 1st Cycle (2012), 2nd (2014), and 3rd cycle (2018) of the External Evaluation of the National Program for Access and Quality of Primary Care. The proportions of Oral Health Teams offering non-invasive (fluor) and micro-invasive (sealants) supplies and procedures between Brazilian geographic regions were compared using the Chi-square test, using the Z Test adjusted by the Bonferroni method, and between the years (2012, 2014, and 2018) using the Cochran Q test (p<0.05). The percentage variation between the proportions per cycle was calculated. Results: The availability of inputs of fluor gel in Brazil increased between 2014 (91.6%) and 2018 (94.1%) (p<0.001), but statistically only in the Northeast and North (p<0.001). The offer of the topical fluorine procedure increased between 2012 (78.8%) and 2018 (87.4%) (p<0.001) in Brazil, with the most significant increase in the North (+7.5%) and Northeast (+22.0%). There was greater availability of inputs of sealants in Brazil between 2012 (56.8%) and 2018 (69.5%) (p<0.001) in Brazil, and more significant expansion in the Northeast (+43.4%). There was a greater offer of the sealing procedure in Brazil between 2014 (98.6%) and 2018 (98.5%), compared to 2012 (94.7%) (p<0.001), with more significant expansion in the North (+5.8%). Conclusion: There was an increase in the supply of input and procedures, non-invasive and micro-invasive, in Primary Care in Brazil. Despite maintaining regional inequalities, they were reduced, with greater expansion in the North and Northeast regions between the years evaluated

Objective: To evaluate the changes in the work routine of Brazilian pediatric dentists (PD) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and Methods: Dentists specializing in pediatric dentistry, working in public or private services, and attending children or adolescents were included. Data collection was performed through a self-administered online questionnaire. Demographic information such as gender, age, work experience time, city size, and place of work was collected; if specific preventive measures were adopted during the pandemic; if there was an increase in service prices and additional costs; and how did the search for urgent or elective dental care take place during 2020 and 2021. A descriptive analysis was performed. Results: A total of 270 PD answered the questionnaire, of which 52.6% interrupted elective care during the pandemic, more than half (51.1%) reduced the number of patients per shift, and more than 70% increased weekly hours. Regarding the financial aspect, 94.7% of participants reported having additional costs, and 51.8% increased the cost of their appointments. In 2020, 72.0% reported a decrease in searches for elective appointments and 58.7% an increase for urgent care. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic affected the search for appointments and the routine of Brazilian PD. For many, the potential financial impact was due to additional costs, periods without patients, and price correction of appointments

Objective: To assess the influence of social support, smoking, and alcohol use on the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) of pregnant women. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on a random sample of 256 pregnant women at a public healthcare service in southern Brazil. OHRQoL was measured using the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) questionnaire. A semi-structured questionnaire was administered to collect demographic, socioeconomic, social support, and deleterious habits data. Clinical examinations were performed to diagnose dental caries (DMFT index) and gingivitis (marginal gingival bleeding). A Poisson regression model was used to investigate the influence of pregnant\u27 characteristics on OHRQoL. With this approach, we calculated rate ratio (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results: The mean overall OHIP-14 score in the sample was 9.74 (SD=9.00). Pregnant women who presented poor social support reported the worst OHRQoL. Regarding deleterious habits, women who drank alcohol (RR=1.18; IC 95%: 1.05-1.33) and smoked (RR=1.20; 95% IC: 1.07-1.35) during pregnancy had higher means in OHIP-14. In addition, older and non-white women who presented untreated dental caries, ≥15% of marginal gingival bleeding, and low household income also reported worse OHRQoL. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that low support social and poor habits during pregnancy influence women\u27s OHRQoL

In contemporary times, the intense industrial, technological and scientific development, notably from the 20th century onwards, provoked a great informational explosion, which demanded the mastery of new virtual dynamics for social interaction, mainly with regard to access to knowledge, communication and research in today\u27s globalized world. In this context, Brazilian university libraries face new paradigms about their role, in which librarians and their users have intensified the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), with the need to incorporate minority groups in the process, as is the case of visually impaired users. In view of this understanding, this article aims to identify in university libraries in the Northeast region of Brazil, through the Institutional Portal, the use of audio description for digital visual documents, with a view to including users with visual impairments. The investigative corpus comprised nine university libraries located in the capitals of the Brazilian Northeast, based on a documental and descriptive research with a qualitative approach. To this end, in addition to the history of informational inclusion of visually impaired users, it is emphasized, based on digital documents and environments of university libraries in Northeast Brazil, the importance of using the resource for the dissemination of academic information accessible in the virtual environment , as a cultural product, transmitting knowledge, understanding, information, and expanding access to the social and cultural inclusion of these users. The investigation pointed out that audio description is not yet a practice in universities and that, therefore, it is still not possible to fully serve people with visual impairments.

The diagnosis is characterized for a minute data survey that allow to identify problems and to consider solutions to minimize the existing vacuum between the current situation and the desired one. In this study we consider to present a panoramic view of the archive of the Central Library of the UFPB situation, on the basis of a research carried through in 2005. It was verified that the documents produced for the library, independent of its phase (current, intermediate, permanent) are kept in the respective sectors, commanded for tipology, without a clear conscience of the life cycle and stated periods of guard of these documents, on the part of its employees. As a method was adopted a technique of data collection, the application of questionnaires, half-structuralized interview and comment. The collected data had obeyed the quantitative analysis procedures, for which it used the trena measurement, linear meters, as well as the quantification for unit all the times that it was made necessary. The research data point that the Central Library does not make use of documentary management politics, nor of a commission that manages it; the employees are unaware of the table of temporality existence in the proper institution, as well as, the stated period of guard of documents and the inexistence of an organization parameter, manuscript and filling of the documentation. We consider that the Library, to reach an efficient functioning of its documentation, makes necessary the implantation of a documentary management, with enabled professionals, aiming at the rationalization of the keeping, the preservation of permanent value documents and, consequently, economy of money, time and space.O diagnóstico caracteriza-se por um levantamento minucioso de dados que permitam identificar problemas e propor soluções para minimizar o vácuo existente entre a situação atual e a desejada.
