Lymphangioma of tongue – A case report
Lymphangiomas are uncommon congenital hamartomas of the lymphatic system, usually diagnosed in infancy and early childhood. Commonly located at head and neck, they are rarely seen in the oral cavity. Common site in oral cavity is the tongue. In the absence of proper therapy, lymphangiomas of the tongue are extremely recurrent, rarely leads to serious complications such as hemorrhage or obstruction of the upper respiratory airways. Here we are report a case of 9 years old child with a swelling on the ventral surface of the tongue

Sterilization and Disinfection of Extracted Human Teeth for Institutional Use
Objective: The study was done to determine the various effective methods of sterilization in extracted human teeth. Materials & methods: 80 non carious molar teeth were extracted due to periodontal disease and used to determine the effectiveness of different disinfection, sterilization method of using bacillus subtilis, a spore bearing thermo resistant bacteria frequently used to test sterilizers. The teeth were collected and stored in normal buffered saline. 10 teeth were placed in each of 8 groups. 7 groups with 10 teeth were immersed in 5% Naocl, 2.5 % Naocl,, 10 % formalin, 3 % H2O2, 2% gluteraldehyde, 3% hypochlorite solution and autoclaving at 1210C, 16 lbs pressure for 20 minutes respectively and last was immersed with normal saline as control ,subsequently incubated for 7 days at 370c in blood agar, mackonkey agar, nutrient agar before and after treatment for 48 hrs. The plates were examined before treatment and after treatment for growth of Bacteria. Result: It was found that autoclaving at 1210C for 20 minutes at 16 lbs pressure, 10 % formalin, 3 % sodium hypochlorite solution was 100% effective. Conclusion: It was concluded that formalin, hypochorite, autoclaving was the choice of sterilization of human extracted teeth for institutional use
Palateless magnetic retained overdenture: An innovative technique to treat patient with severe gag reflex
Gagging is the most common protective reflex that prevents the foreign bodies from entering trachea.However, some patients exhibit abnormally active gag reflex which makes the denture fabrication and use difficult. This article describes an innovative method of managing such patients by the use of magnetic assembly in fabrication of palateless over denture on retained teeth thereby improving tolerance towards the intraoral prosthesis
Over-Erupted Maxillary First Molar And Unilateral Scissors Bite Treated Efficiently Using Orthodontic Mini-Implants – A Case Report
Over-erupted maxillary molars present unique challenges to the orthodontist, causing occlusal and functional disturbances, as well as a canted occlusal plane, apart from compromised periodontal health. This case report demonstrates the use of mini-implants in a 20 year old male patient requiring re-treatment who presented with an over-erupted permanent left maxillary first molar and unilateral scissors bite. A new method of applying elastic force from the mini-implants to the molar tooth for affecting their intrusion is described. The over-erupted molar was successfully and efficiently intruded using two mini-implants in 5 months, thus greatly simplifying the correction of the scissors bite.  
Management of multiple non-vital permanent anterior teeth with open apex, calcified canal and periapical lesion.
Aims and objectives : Traumatic dental injuries may result in endodontic complications such as non-vital teeth, open apex, calcified canals and peripaical lesion. Their management is a challenge to dentists. The open apices frequently have divergent root canal walls which make debridement and obturation difficult. Thus closure of root apex is essential for success of the endodontic treatment. Traditionally, calcium hydroxide is the material of choice for apical barrier formation and healing. Also, teeth with signs of calcified pulp require conventional endodontic treatment, if it is possible to introduce instrument into the root canal. The aim of the present article was to report the successful closure of root apex, management of calcified canal and periapical lesion in a non-vital permanent central incisor. Case description : Here, the case was managed with calcium hydroxide dressing for four months before obturation with gutta-percha when signs of apical closure were observed. Conclusion : The follow up was done regularly and at the end of two years, signs of complete periapical healing were observed. 
Ozone in Dental Therapy : An Outlook
Dentistry is in a continual battle with infection, soft tissue, and/or hard tissue. These infections come from bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. An infection can be of a single organism or a combination of all the above. The use of ozone in dentistry is gaining place in every day’s dental practise and is used in almost all dental applications with no toxicity and side effects. The undisputed disinfection power of ozone in dentistry is a very good alternative and/or additional disinfectant to standard antiseptics. Ozone therapy in dentistry is now the new standard of care in all disciplines of dentistry. Ozone therapy holds great potential as an atraumatic treatment modality to incorporate into dental practice
A bird’s eye view of International Organization for Standardization [ISO] – A review.
Abstract: ISO, the International Organization for Standardization is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards. It has put together more than 19,100 standards as on May 2012.1 ISO makes possible the addressing of the different needs, business, governmental and societal. ISO is a network of different national standard bodies, one per country. As on May 2012, there are 164 of these national standard bodies. For India, the national standard body is the Bureau of Indian Standards, BIS. The strategic, technical and administrative support to all the members of ISO is provided by the ISO Central Secretariat, in Geneva, Switzerland. ISO standards address society and all its activities as a whole. They play an important role in the stabilization and growth of national and international interactions. ISO Standards have a unique value. This paper takes a comprehensive view of ISO and its activities, and also as to how dental institutions can gain by implementing the ISO process in its activities, bringing about standardization in practices and education.  
Tooth Colored Post System: Review of Literature
The basic application of a tooth colored posts (functionally graded composite, zirconia and fiber reinforced composite) in the post endodontic restorative phase of a tooth is based on the usage of the correct post in a given situation. Many advantages of the tooth colored posts such as, its favorable esthetics, ease of use, their modulus of elasticity values that are similar to that of dentin and this can reduce the risk of fractures as well as stress concentration at the apex of root. It can increase their survival compared to teeth restored with metallic posts. The most complication of the colored post system is the deboning failures, but those posts allowed the retreatment of the deboning post. All studies evaluating the tooth colored post systems up to December 2011were included. Key words: Post, Tooth Colored, Endodontic Treated Teet
Repairing of Fractured Metal Ceramic Restorations: Techniques Review
Abstract Statement of the problem: The ceramic veneer in Metal-ceramic crowns and FPDs have the potential for fracture. Fractured porcelain poses a serious and clinical problem. It may be desirable to repair a broken retainer of a fixed prosthesis rather than to remove it and risk the possibility of destroying the entire restoration or damaging the abutment teeth. Techniques: Intra-oral (re-bonding the fractured chip to the fixed restoration or using a composite resin to restore the fractured porcelain), Extra-oral (pin-retained casting, over-casting veneered with porcelain (for repair abutment or pontic), modified over casting or porcelain layer with resin adhesion, and Combination of intra and extra oral techniques. Conclusion: Ceramic repair techniques for fractured ceramic bridge should be consider as an alternative solution instead of replacing a new prosthesis which is coasty, harmful to the abutment teeth and long procedures. This article presents an over view of the different techniques used to repair the fractured porcelain from metal ceramic restoration or remaking of the fractured retainer from a multi-unite FPD.
