Plasmablastic lymphoma, an oral manifestation of AIDS related complex in an HIV Positive patient: A Case report.
Plasmablastic lymphoma, an aggressive variant of Non Hodgkins lymphoma, relatively rare entity in the past but presently seen as a second most common lymphoma (after Burkitts lymphoma) in immunodeficient patients particulary in HIV positive patients. The authors present the case report of a 34 years old female HIV patient .The lesion was a clinical dilemma and the initial impression of the presentation was more in favor of poorly differentiated squmaous cell carcinoma. Following incisional biopsy, routine histopathological and immunohistochemical, reports were more in accordance with the diagnosis of Plasmablastic lymphoma. Patient was referred to the higher centre for chemotherapy and radiotherapy
Demonstration of root canal morphology of human permanent teeth using transparent tooth model system
Root canal system of tooth is least understood and studied by the oral anatomist. The success of the endodontic treatment depends to a large degree on operator’s knowledge of the region involved. The multiple root canals or tortuous path makes inappropriate cleaning and obturation leading to large failures, which can be demonstrated in vitro in transparent teeth. This article presents a simple and inexpensive technique for in vitro examination of root canal system by making the tooth transparent (diphanization).Key words: transparent tooth model, diphanization, three dimensional root canal morphology, endodontic post mortem
