Millennials (Y), born between 1981-2000, and post-millennial (Z), born in 2000 and after, grew up in two very different socio-economic-political contexts. The Gen Ys were born and grew up in Soeharto's authoritarian era, and Gen Zs were born after the fall of Soeharto, but both grew up in the democratic era with the massive development of information technology. Both Millennials and post-millennials face different gender issues from previous generations. Even for similar gender issues, different context demands a different approach in understanding the issues. This research explores the construction of masculinity and femininity that is understood and believed by the Bandung’s millennials (Y) and post-millennials (Z) generation. Data collection was carried out in two stages. The first stage used the photo-interviewing method with 20 participants. The second stage was conducted with an online survey method of 184 respondents. The results show that millennial and post-millennial generations have an understanding of gender that tends to be non-stereotyping, not many signifiers are categorized as feminine or masculine

Properti psikometris Big Five Inventory–2 versi Indonesia

The five personality traits are currently seen as the most widely used theoretical framework in explaining the variability of human behavior. Big Five Inventory (BFI) is one of the well-known inventories that contributes to the progress of the big five research. Recently, the developer updated and published the Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2). Various studies have been conducted to expand the scope of validation, but until now the testing has not been carried out involving Indonesian participants. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the BFI-2 in the Indonesian version. The researcher corresponds with the developer to obtain BFI-2 which has been officially translated by the International Situations Project (ISP). Data were collected by distributing online surveys through various social media platforms. A total of 1061 participants were involved in this study. The result showed adequate internal consistency on the domain level and somewhat lower on the facet level. The BFI-2 domains and facets also showed good convergent-discriminant validity in relation to IPIP-BFM-50 and TIPI. The factor analysis shows that the model fits the data after seven problematic items were not included in the analysis. Therefore, we concluded that the questionnaire could be used to measure the Big Five personality traits in Indonesia provided the problematic items found to be invalid are deleted

The relationship or closeness between humans and the natural environment is a psychological construct that can be used to overcome environmental problems nowadays. Nature Relatedness Scale (NRS) is a questionnaire used to measure the relationship between humans and the natural environment, which is proven to be related to pro-environment behavior. However, there are no studies that have adapted and analyzed the structure of NRS in Indonesia, so that it can be used for studies on environmental psychology in Indonesia. This study aims to test the construct validity and reliability of NRS Bahasa Indonesia using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with a sample of Indonesian people (N= 174). The result shows that NRS Bahasa Indonesia has the same factor structure as the original NRS, namely: NR Self, NR Perspective, and NR Experience and can be used in research with a population of Indonesian people. NR Self and NR Experience have good construct reliability and validity, while NR Perspective has moderate construct reliability and validity. The potential of the NRS to investigate pro-environmental concerns and behavior, as well as suggestions for further research are discussed

This study aimed to explore the adaptation process toward the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research method applied was quantitative-descriptive. A total of 544 Indonesian citizens filled out an online social perception toward risk and spread of COVID-19 scale through a google form. The results focused on the adaptive response of the community consisting of both perceptions and behaviors. This study found that the adaptation of the society to deal with COVID-19 did not only occur at the individual level but also at the collective level. At the individual level, there were two kinds of psychological adaptation found namely active and passive. At the collective level, this study suggested that collective coping is an important form of social-psychological adaptation in which solidarity is the essence of the process

Occupational safety and health measures must be applied by every industry that has at least 100 workers and industries that have a high risk of danger in their work environment. This research aims to examine the influence of a typical leadership style in Indonesia, namely paternalistic leadership, on the safety behavior of employees in the workplace via trust in the supervisor as the mediator refers to social identity theory. Trust in supervisors is conceptualized as separate dimensions of affective trust and cognitive trust. The data were taken using convenience sampling using online survey research conducted in various Indonesian industrial sectors with a high risk of work accidents (N = 300). Data were analyzed using Hayes’ PROCESS macro ver 3.5.3 on SPSS ver. 26. Results showed that affective trust did not mediate the relationship between paternalistic leadership and safety behavior, but cognitive trust mediated the relationship. Results also showed that affective trust and cognitive trust consecutively mediated the relationship between paternalistic leadership and safety behavio

Lebih jauh mengutip Milan Kundera dari bukunya The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, “The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting”.

This research aimed to construct and examine the psychometric properties of the Scenario-Based Prosocial Intention Questionnaire (SBPIQ), a scenario-based questionnaire to tap prosocial intentions in children and adolescents. We examined the 40 items of SBPIQ representing four dimensions of prosocial behaviors (helping, sharing, comforting, and cooperating). The items were proportionally attached to 10 scenarios of prosocial behaviors commonly found in children and adolescents daily life. Data collection involved 2615 participants who were females (56,67%) and males (43,33%), aged 7-18 YO (7-9 YO, 16,21%; 10-12 YO, 19,81%; 13-15 YO, 35,07%; 16-18 YO, 28,91%), and resided in rural (41,03%) and urban (58,97%) areas. Psychometric properties were identified from construct validity (through Exploratory Factor Analysis & Confirmatory Factor Analysis) and internal consistency (through Stratified Alpha testing). Results showed that the final version of SBPIQ with 24 items exhibited acceptable construct validity and reliability. Furthermore, factor analyses confirmed the multidimentionality of prosocial behavior. Four distinct factors were found to form the construct of prosocial behaviors, and one second-order factor was also found to bind these 4 factors. Other findings and important notes are discussed within this article
