Pengajaran Persiapan Ujian Nasional Mata Pelajaran Matematika di SMP Negeri 37 Samarinda
Get PDFCommunity Service conducted at SMP 37 is teaching national math preparation tests for class IX. The method of community service in Samarinda 37 State Junior High School is by teaching using the junior high school national exam practice module. Activities carried out through the stage of providing material operations of fractions, value comparisons and reversals of values, ranks and roots, calculation of loan and savings interest rates, arithmetic sequences and sequences and geometry, linear and quadratic equations, sets, linear functions, line equations, line gradients, flat circumference and shape area, congruent and congruent triangles, circle angle, circle circumference, circle elements, prism and pyramid elements, volume and surface area of prism and pyramid, statistics, sample space, and opportunity. After all the material has been submitted, it is continued with the prediction of the national mathematics exams in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 with the development of the developed training modules. From the results of community service in Samarinda 37 Public Middle School, the level of student satisfaction found using modules was 41.52% very satisfied, 57.40% satisfied, 1.07% quite satisfied, and 0.00% dissatisfied. On the other hand, students also find it easier to understand learning if the teacher uses modules as teaching material in classPengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 37 adalah pengajaran persiapan ujian nasional mata pelajaran matematika kelas IX. Metode dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMP Negeri 37 Samarinda adalah dengan cara melakukan pengajaran menggunakan modul latihan soal ujian nasional SMP. Kegiatan yang dilakukan melalui tahap pemberian materi operasi bilangan pecahan, perbandingan senilai dan berbalik nilai, pangkat dan akar, perhitungan bunga pinjaman dan tabungan, barisan dan deret aritmatika serta geometri, persamaan linier dan kuadrat, himpunan, fungsi linier, persamaan garis, gradien garis, keliling dan luas bangun datar, segitiga kongruen dan sebangun, sudut lingkaran, sudut keliling lingkaran, unsur-unsur lingkaran, unsur-unsur prisma dan limas, volume dan luas permukaan prisma dan limas, statistika, ruang sampel dan peluang. Setelah semua materi disampaikan dilanjutkan dengan prediksi ujian nasional matematika tahun 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, dan 2018 dengan pengembangan modul latihan yang dikembangkan. Dari hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMP Negeri 37 Samarinda diperoleh tingkat kepuasan belajar siswa menggunakan modul adalah sangat puas sebesar 41,52%, puas sebesar 57,40%, cukup puas 1,07%, dan tidak puas 0,00%. Disisi lain juga ditemukan siswa lebih mudah memahami pembelajaran jika guru menggunakan modul sebagai bahan ajar di kelas
Pengolahan Daur Ulang Minyak Bekas Menjadi Biodisel Untuk Sumber Energi Alternatif di Kelurahan Karya Merdeka Kabupaten Kutai Kertanegara
Get PDFKarya Merdeka Village is very famous for its oil palm plantations. Nearly 27% of the population work as oil palm farm laborers. In irrigating the plantations, they use diesel fueled rice cookers. Based on field surveys, 1 liter of diesel can be used for 2 hours to drive the dompeng machine. Means that in a month, residents need 30 liters of diesel fuel. If 1 liter costs IDR 6000, farmers will incur a cost of IDR 180,000 per month. Of course this needs to be balanced with an idea / innovation to reduce the expenditure of farmers in supplying diesel to their dompeng machines. Therefore, the Balikpapan State Polytechnic Lecturer team of the Electrical Engineering Department contributed significantly to the Community Service Activities (PkM) held at the Karya Merdeka Kelurahan Office, Kutai Kertanegara Regency in socializing a technology that can recycle used cooking oil into biodiesel, through a process of mixing with methanol and NaOH. The method of making it is quite simple, namely used cooking oil at a temperature of 40 degrees. For the right results, use a digital thermostat. The dose is 1 liter of used cooking oil mixed with half a liter of methanol and 0.1 mg NaOH. Stir until evenly distributed and leave for 24 hours. The result is biodiesel (clear color) and glycerol (the precipitate). Biodiesel is one alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly and proven to be economical in its implementation. It has the same function as Soilar, which is able to drive generators and dompeng engines, but is 3 times more efficient than diesel, which is 1 liter of biodiesel equivalent to 3 liters of diesel. Fires are one of the non-natural disasters that usually occur in the residential area or in densely populated residential areas. The Balikpapan City Government noted that in 2015 there were 46 fire incidents, in 2016 there were 35 fire incidents. In Gunung Sari Ulu Urban Village in Balikpapan City, there was a fire in 2013 at RT 66 and RT 69 (kaltim.tribunnews.com). The source of the fire in the community settlements was due to electric currents and stoves, the fires could be handled early so there was no widespread fire disaster, the community could practice extinguish the fire with simple equipment such as cloth/ towel soaked. The potential in terms of culture, nature, and man-made become an attraction for visitors. Not just for refreshing, tourism potential can also add insight into both religion and philosophical values in it. This service is done by using the method of collecting data using and in-depth interviews through observation to find out directly through interviewing the speakers around the tourist attractions. Data inventoried both in terms of culture, nature, and artificial without heeding the values of philosophy or symbols contained in the culture in the place. The city of Balikpapan and the borders of the Kutai Kartanegara region, namely Amburawang and Samboja, also have several supporting places as tourist attractions. In addition to its still attractive nature, culture as a potential supporter can be found in several places in these areas such as religious tourism, culinary tourism, or in accordance with the economic system of the surrounding community. Thus, culture is one of the strong supporters of the increase in tourism in the area.

The problem faced by the PKK members of Cinere and Jakarta City barren is the lack of packaging of cakes, fried foods and snacks, so that the effect on the lack of maximum sales. The implementation of this community service activity is carried out through the observation stage of determining the material needed from product development and marketing itself. No full textAlong with the development of technology, the quality of education is a benchmark to produce graduates who have knowledge and skills who are able to be competitive in the world of industry according to their fields of expertise. One of the supporting factors that can improve the quality of education is the presentation of quality and innovative teaching materials to trigger students' interest in learning. The I-Spring application is the solution because this application is able to combine audio, video, music and practice questions in one file, then convert the power point format into an html format that can be presented online at local hotspots. Based on this background, the Balikpapan State Polytechnic Electrical Engineering Department carried out Community Service activities with a training method for making multimedia-based teaching materials. The activity took place in Balikpapan State Middle School 15 and State Vocational High School 6 Balikpapan with 32 participants. The purpose of this training is to improve the competence of the teachers in making interesting and innovative teaching materials, thereby increasing students' interest in learning. The final results in the form of the work of the teachers can present the teaching materials based on I-Spring applications with a success rate of 85%.Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, mutu pendidikan menjadi tolok ukur menghasilkan lulusan yang memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang mampu berkompetitif dalam dunia industry sesuai bidang keahliannya. Salah satu faktor pendukung yang dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan adalah penyajian bahan ajar yang berkualitas dan inovatif untuk memicu minat belajar siswa. Aplikasi I-Spring adalah solusinya karena aplikasi ini mampu menggabungkan audio, video, music dan soal-soal latihan dalam satu file, lalu mengkonversikan format power point menjadi format html yang dapat disajikan secara online local hotspot. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, maka Jurusan Teknik Elektro Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan melaksanakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan metode pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar berbasis multimedia. Kegiatan berlangsung di SMP Negeri 15 Balikpapan dan SMK Negeri 6 Balikpapan dengan jumlah peserta 32 orang. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah meningkatkan kompetensi para guru dalam membuat bahan ajar yang menarik dan inovatif, sehingga meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Get PDFThe growth of hotel in Balikpapan quickly must be balanced with the improvement of hotel employees’ competence in hospitality industry along with the increasing of foreign countries guest that is needed excellent service in order to fulfill the guests satisfaction. Communication is one of the most importantant aspect while giving excellent service to the guests especially to foreign countries guest that demand all of the hotel employees can communicate in English fluently. The probles that was found for our community service partner was the low English communication competence of hospitality employee therefore they cannot give excellent service. Method that used to solve the problem was done through 4 steps, such as: preparation, problem formulation, implementation that consists of English training and mentoring, and evaluation program. Based on the result of our community service that has followed by 40 hospitality employees, it can be concluded that there is significant progress of English communicative competence for each hospitality employee tha has followed English training and also based on the result of mentoring and evaluation, it is stated that this community service programe through English training for giving excellent service can help hospitality employees to increase their self confidence while communicate with foreign countries guest.Pesatnya pertumbuhan hotel di Balikpapan ini sangat perlu diimbangi dengan peningkatan kapasitas pekerja pada industri perhotelan seiring dengan terjadinya penambahan jumlah tamu mancanegara yang datang sehingga diperlukan pelayanan prima guna terwujudnya kepuasaan pelanggan. Komunikasi merupakan salah satu faktor terpenting ketika memberikan pelayanan prima kepada tamu hotel khususnya tamu mancanegara yang menuntut semua karyawan hotel dapat fasih berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Permasalahan yang dijumpai pada mitra PKM yakni rendahnya kemampuan berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris pada pekerja perhotelan sehingga tidak dapat memberikan pelayanan prima. Metode pemecahan masalah dilakukan melalui 4 tahapan yakni persiapan, perumusan masalah, pelaksanaan yang meliputi pelatihan Bahasa Inggris serta pendampingan, dan evaluasi program. Berdasarkan hasil PKM yang telah diikuti oleh 40 karyawan perhotelan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa Inggris secara signifikan dan berdasarkan hasil dari kegiatan pendampingan serta evaluasi, dapat dinyatakan bahwa karyawan hotel yang mengikuti pelatihan sangat terbantu dengan adanya pelatihan ini dan dapat meningkatkan rasa percaya diri pekerja hotel ketika berkomunikasi dengan tamu hotel mancanegara

Get PDFLearning activities for the community in the villages of Lamaru RT 06 and RT 17 were Community Service activities carried out by lecturers and students at the University of Balikpapan in Lamaru Village, East Balikpapan, with the aim of realizing the Tri Dharma of Universities by using their values and forms in community and state life, increase the power of interest in learning society in order to get a better education and provide new insights and knowledge about education and can be used in community life in the area where local people live. The method of community service in RT 17 and RT 06 of Lamaru Village by conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results of the discussion were 1) the formation of cooperation between the community service team of the University of Balikpapan very well so that efforts to increase the learning interest of the community in Lamaru Sub-District can run well, 2) the students who took part in educational activities were very active in the activities given, such as tutoring, knowledge dexterity competitions, and simple experiments in setting up model patterns of objects around them using plasticine media, and 3) young people playing an active role in helping education skills in creative activities.

Pelatihan Maintenance Korosi Pada Baling Baling Kapal Klotok Balikpapan-Penajam Pasir Utara (PPU)
Get PDFCommunity service is one of the tri dharma of higher education which is the duty of lectures college students, therefore in this servicewe rised the issue of how to maintain corrosion on klotok ship propellers for the Balikpapan-PPU routeand how to conduct optimal training activities so that theactors, owners and operators are orderly and take good care. The method of implementation is the form of training for 2 days and mentoring for 3 consecutive months. This training activity involved 2 lectures and 3 college students. This ship propeller maintenance training was attendedby 30 people consisting of 10 ship owners and 20 klotok ship operators. Implementation of on august 31st – September 1st 2018 with the hope that the owners and operators of the klotok ships can understand the importance of their klotok care so thath people who use sea transportation, especially the people of Balikpapan and Penajam Pasir Utara feel safe and confortable while in the klotok ship. This training makes it easier for ship owners to monitor operators directly and carryng our their klotok and operators also do not arbitrarily runklotok without maintenance.
