Experimental Analysis of Tensile and Flexural Strength of Water Lily Fiber Reinforced Polyester Resin Composite
Ethiopia has abundant invasive aquatic plants like water hyacinth and water lily. Large masses of these invasive plants have a negative impact on the water bodies specifically at Lake Tana, in Ethiopia by infesting and deteriorating water quality and reducing the quantity of water. In this research work, an attempt was made to fabricate a natural fiber reinforced composite in which water lily fiber was used as reinforcing material in the polyester resin matrix. Chopped water lily fiber reinforced polyester resin composites were prepared by varying the fiber weight percentage as 20%, 40% and 60%. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength and flexural strength were evaluated as per ASTM standards to evaluate the influence of fiber concentrations. The experimental result shows that an increase in fiber concentration enhanced the mechanical properties of water lily fiber reinforced polyester composite. It was found that the composite with 40 wt% of fiber exhibited a superior strength which could be suitably used for different applications
Incentive Mechanisms for Teachers in Private Universities: A Case Study of Jiangxi University of Engineering
Private universities play a significant role in China's national education system and are a crucial component of the education reform process. Their rapid development and progress are supported by favorable national policies, garnering recognition and support from the general public. In the fiercely competitive talent landscape, teachers serve as the backbone of private universities and are essential to their growth. Effective human resource management aims to mobilize faculty and staff enthusiasm, achieved through a systematic salary plan, fair performance evaluations, transparent competition mechanisms, and scientific incentive distribution. This article focuses on studying the incentive mechanism for teachers at Jiangxi University of Engineering, using questionnaire surveys and interviews to identify issues such as high teacher mobility and incomplete incentive systems. By combining incentive theory and experiences from foreign universities, the study aims to explore motivational principles and propose solutions to enhance the current incentive mechanisms. The ultimate goal is to offer valuable insights for improving teacher incentives in private universities across China
An Evaluation of Implementing ICT among Pre-Service English Teachers in Farhangian University
In recent years, the trend toward globalization and the needs of an information-oriented society have become a focus of attention for science educators. However, many teachers are still struggling to adopt and implement computers into their classrooms. Some researchers contend that beginning teachers are not adequately prepared to integrate computers into their teaching. This study examined the decision-making process used by secondary pre-service science teachers in implementing ICT (Information and Communication Technology) into English instruction by pre-service teachers in Farhangian University, Iran. The study sought to understand pre-service teachers' conceptual development and its impact on their new understanding of teaching and decision-making. The data were collected through a survey. The findings suggest a pivotal influence of teacher educators, cooperating teachers, and peer teaching on the development of practical theories, and subsequently the practice of pre-service teachers with computers. Participants highlighted that two most beneficial aspects that computers have as a pedagogical tool are helping and enhancing more student-centred learning and providing complex and sometimes interactive visual aids to help students understand concepts better
Saudi Women Empowerment Constraints for Participation in Sports and Physical Activities
Saudi women have recently witnessed unprecedented sociocultural changes in lifestyle and prosperity, as a result of recent female empowerment policies. Among these changes is the public acceptance of female participation in sport and physical activities. However, due to lack of good opportunities for sport and physical activity participation in previous years, Saudi women might still encounter tremendous factors that prevent or limit their participation. The study purpose was to investigate constraints that limit or prohibit Saudi female from participation in light of the recent empowerment policies. The developed questionnaire was based on the leisure constraint theory and distributed in all regions of the country, yielding a sample of 866 female participants. The results indicated that the majority used their homes as the place for participation, with significant differences among geographical location in intrapersonal and interpersonal constraints, and an overall high score in structural constraints. It was concluded that Saudi females’ ability to participate in sports and physical activities is severely constrained by too many factors that need to be alleviated by policy makers and investors
The Effect of Goal Orientation to the Academic Performance in Mathematics of Grade 10 Students
Mathematics is a multifaceted activity; it has a lot of faces, even those one we can’t notice. Each facet is worth it to deal with so that every individual will be prepared for their future. It provides us with something to walk through difficulties. It is beneficial to set a goal for each individual, whether it is a short-term goal, long-term goal, or even the goal that falls in the middle. Setting a goal has been used extensively in a variety of ways, even on the outside of the school or in any settings. It could possibly bring you a positive achievement if follows correctly. The main purpose of this study was to determine if the goal orientation of the grade 10 students of one school in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) Rizal has a significant effect to their academic performance. As regards to the data of the significant effect of goal orientation to the academic performance of grade 10 students, the p-value of less than 0.001 revealed that the task goal orientation of the respondents has a significant effect to their academic performance in mathematics. The p-value of 0.007 implied that the ego goal orientation of the respondents has also had a significant effect on their academic performance in mathematics. Therefore, the researchers concluded that there is a significant effect of the respondents’ goal orientation, although the effect is very low and low, respectively. For the betterment, it is advised that researchers conducting a comparable study on goal orientation expand their scope to include student study habits, which may be influenced by a variety of circumstances
A Case Study of Social Learning in ICALL-Based English Writing Course from Learners’ Perspectives
As one of the essential theoretical concepts in sociocultural theory, social learning addresses that any learning is fundamentally a social learning process, which results from the interaction between individuals and their social context. The principal aim of this study is to explore what has come out of the social learning process in a case of a iCALL-based EFL writing course in a university in China. The study investigated 54 learners’ attitudes towards the iCALL-based English writing course and what they really gained from peers’ interaction (reading and commenting on peers’ writings). Data was collected by means of structured and semi-structured questionnaire, open-ended interview, and collection of online-texts; data analysis was done both quantitatively and qualitatively via SPSSAU, coding and content analysis. The results demonstrate that the majority of the students have a positive attitude toward this iCALL-based English writing course, and their gains from the dialogic activity include not only their improvement in language writing ability, but also non-linguistic aspects falling into the following four aspects: cognitive domain, meta-cognitive domain, affective domain, and meaning of life. The researcher concludes that the social learning process in this case was not only a good source for languaging, which leads to the improvement of learners’ language ability in the process of joint construction, but also a good source for affective and social communication within the learning community

The Anti-Colon Cancer Effects of Probiotic and Postbiotic: A Review Article
Cancer, the leading cause of death worldwide, is a name for more than 100 types of diseases that evolved from normal cells and tissues in the body. Cancer cells fail to control cell proliferation and homeostasis due to mutations. These mutations arise from intensive environmental factors or alterations in genes that aid genetic instability. The immune system is the first defense line against cancer cells as it inhibits tumor development, growth, invasion, and metastasis. However, cancer cells develop many mechanisms to escape and avoid destruction by the immune system. Probiotics is a term used to describe the entire population of microorganisms that inhabit the human body. Probiotics and their metabolites stimulate the immune system and maintain gastrointestinal integrity. Postbiotics are bioactive products produced by probiotics. They facilitate cell-cell interaction and regulate signaling pathways. Postbiotics also promote health through different mechanisms. In this review, the anti-colon-cancer effects of probiotics and postbiotics have been investigated
