TAFSIR AL-AZHAR: SUATU TINJAUAN BIOGRAFIS DAN METODOLOGIS
This article deals with Tafsîr al-Azhâr from biographical and methodological perspectives employing historical method. Hamka started writing this Tafsîr al-Azhâr in 1959 than convoyed it as a down lecture in the Mosque of al-Azhâr. He completed the writing of this book of al-tafsîr when he was being jailed. This book of al-tafsîr consists of thirty chaptersl. ALQURAN DALAM PERDEBATAN PEMAHAMAN TEKSTUAL DAN KONTEKSTUAL
The Qur’an, the holy scripture of the Muslims, never changes since its revelation. However, qur’anic exegesis, as the results of brilliant thoughts of the interpreter can only differ from one another. The difference of qur’anic exegesis may be brought about by methods of interpreting the qur’anic verses. Generally speaking, there are method of interpreting the qur’anic verses; textual interpretation and contextual interpretation. JIHAD DAN TERORISME KAJIAN FIKIH KONTEMPORER
This article discusses jihâd and terrorism based on contemporary fiqh perspective. Jihâd has an important meaning in Islamic teaching as a part of religious obligation. However, nowadays the word jihâd has been associated with the term terrorism by Western World. In fact, terrorism is completely different from Islamic spirit (jihâd). Therefore, this article tries to reveal the differences between jihâd and terrorism. This issue is discussed by employing contemporary fiqh perspective approach. The result shows that jihâd and terrorism are totally different from each other. Jihâd has the criteria which are stated in Islamic shar’iah, while terrorism is a form of movement against the Islamic teaching.Kata Kunci: jihad, terorisme, syariah, sadd  al-tharâ’
POLITIK UMAT ISLAM INDONESIA: UPAYA DEPOLITISASI PASCAKEMERDEKAAN
This paper deals with political relations between the state and Moslem communities in Indonesia at the first emergence until being political power from the seventh century to the beginning of the nineteenth century. This issue will be discussed using socio-historical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the Muslim community played a significant role in a parliamentary democracy. Thus, they were marginalized in a guided democracy, and become an object, rather than a subject, both in the New Order and the Reform era, in terms of a variety of national issues. In other words, Muslim community become a target of depolitization and such issues as the sole principle, moral education of Pancasila, veiling, right-wing extremists, and terrorism, despite of the fact that the 1945 Constitution gives to all Indonesian people a freedom to embrace their religion.Kata Kunci: politik Islam, depolitisai,   umat Islam Indonesi

Islam is a religion of peace. Therefore, Islam accommodates differences in religions, ethnics, languages, and cultures. Islam also recommends that peace culture be established at any time and place. IBNU KHALDUN: KAJIAN TOKOH SEJARAH DAN ILMU-ILMU SOSIAL
This paper deals with Ibn Khaldun and his theory of circle (cyclical theory). This theory is based on historical realities in nomadic societies and also urban societies which have their own social solidarity, organizational structure and civilization. From this fact, he is known as the first figure who construct scientifically the methodology of the history of human thought, so that history can be developed both as science and philosophy. PENYALAHGUNAAN NARKOBA DALAM PERSPEKTIF HUKUM POSITIF DAN HUKUM ISLAM
In Indonesia, the penal issues of psychotropic drugs can be described from two aspects: types of psychotropic drugs which have been abused and types of drug abuse which have their own different penalties. A judge in his or her interpretation of this issue just looks at the maximum amount, not minimum one. In the perspective of Islamic law, some moslem scholars make an analogy of these kinds of drug to khamr (wine) because of the same reason (‘illat, ratio legis); that is, intoxication. Concerning to the penalty to drug abusers, some moslem scholars argued that the penalties are had, while others said ta’zîr as a maximum punishment to this crime, and it is within the authority of the moslem judges.Kata Kunci:   penyalahgunaan narkoba, hukum positif, hukum Isla

One of the well-known Islamic philosophers in Islamic and western countries is Ibnu Sina. In Western countries, he is known as Avicenna. Ibnu sina (370H/980M) is not only a great philosopher but also a great scientist whose researches have been quoted many other scientists in the field of medicine until this modern era. He had contributed to development of philosophy and science since middle age in order to establish perfect philosophy system. ANALISIS KURANGNYA MINAT MAHASISWA MEMILIH PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA ARAB DI STAIN DATOKARAMA PALU
This research deals with the lack of  interest of the students in Arabic Language Teaching Program at STAIN Datokarama Palu. This research is intended to describe the factors that make the students have low in interest in Arabic Teachiung Program. The results shows that decreasing interest is much more associated with (1) the lack of opportunity to find jobs, especially to be civil servants; (2) the influence their counterparts to make a similar choice; and (3) the deminishing promotion of this program to the prospective students. PENGEMBANGAN KURIKULUM BERBASIS MADRASAH
Education decentralization in Indonesia provides new atmosphere in managing and improving the school curriculum. The reason is that schools are provided with broad apportunity to manage education based on the school-based curricuculum.
