Kupang City, located in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, stands out for its notable success in fostering tolerance among religious communities. Its significance lies in (a) being the largest city in NTT, (b) having a longstanding history of Islamic development, and (c) the proclamation of local leaders demonstrating a firm commitment to preserving Kupang as an exemplar of religious harmony. In light of these aspects, the authors conducted qualitative field research on Muslim village communities in Kupang to explore how harmony is maintained among religious groups. This research is based on the theoretical assumption that understanding the world requires a native point of approach, relying on the researcher's perspective. The findings reveal that a crucial foundation for harmony among religious communities is the residents' highly tolerant attitude, reflecting the active tolerance embedded in local wisdom. This local wisdom is further reinforced by the recognition of diversity as a defining feature of Kupang City's identity. The actualization of this value is evident in religious and cultural traditions, exemplified by the Siripuan tradition in Airmata Village. The dynamic nature of harmony among religious communities is underscored, with one contributing factor being the lower positive feelings experienced by minorities compared to the majority. Addressing this discrepancy is crucial for anticipating and mitigating potential challenges among Muslim minorities

Halal product assurance in Indonesia presents challenges requiring correction, particularly concerning (1) conception, (2) implementation, and (3) reconstruction of halal product guarantees. The current concept results in a passive government, dependent on public initiatives. Reconstruction is essential to highlight the active governmental role and reinforce societal engagement. This research formulates the halal product guarantee concept, assesses its Indonesian implementation, and proposes reconstruction for justice and benefit. Employing doctrinal research methods, the study analyses legislation, concepts, history, and cases, utilizing primary and secondary legal materials with documentation as the primary data collection technique. Findings reveal the current halal product assurance concept renders the government passive, prompting a public call for its active involvement. Reconstruction becomes pivotal to prevent controversies. The revamped concept should focus on enhancing community involvement and ensuring an active government role. Community engagement with a uniform understanding is crucial, and the government should actively participate, including empowering investigations. This study contributes conceptual insights, urging an evaluation and reformulation of halal product guarantees, emphasizing the active state role through the government. The recommendations aim to improve the conception of halal product guarantees and foster a more active, inclusive approach to ensure justice and societal well-being

The Ngada people of Flores have a very special way of looking at death, which is known as mata golo. Mata golo is any form of unnatural death. For example, being hit by a vehicle, drowning or being killed. This form of death is always perceived by the Ngada as a curse. It is a result of past sins and mistakes. The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of the mata golo and its interpretation from the perspective of Christian faith. This study adopts an interpretive phenomenological qualitative approach. Observation and interviews were used to collect the data. Research sites were in Tude, Tiwuriwu I village, Jerebuu subdistrict and Gisi, Ratogesa village, Golewa subdistrict, Ngada district. The research subjects were family members of mata golo victims, traditional elders and traditional priests (lima mali). The results of the study show that the Ngada people believe that there are three types of death, which are understood differently: gore gote, mata ade and mata golo. Gore gote is a form of death that should be celebrated and given thanks for, for example, longevity. Mata ade is a natural death, for example due to illness and disease. Mata golo is a death that is not good, unnatural and can be devastating for the family left behind. A Christian perspective, which understands death as an event of faith and salvation in Christ, will be brought to bear on this last point. The study will conclude with some special remarks

This research is a qualitative research with library research. This study uses the theory of using Capra's holistic spiritual theory in understanding the function and purpose of Tribuana Manggala Bakti. Menoreh's natural resource management started from an ideational culture to a sensate culture. Sensate culture is seen when people begin to exploit natural resources. Tribuana Manggala Bakti originated from the concern of Buddhists towards the Menoreh nature. Tribuana Manggala Bakti is a series of Vesak events in the form of taking Vesak holy water followed by tree planting, and releasing fish and birds. The release of animals and the planting of trees as a tangible form of awareness of the importance of nature underlies the behavior of an environmentally friendly lifestyle, protecting and caring for the environment. As said by Fritjof Capra as one of the real solutions to the environmental crisis. In Ecoliteracy Capra, realizing the importance of nature has an impact on environmentally friendly lifestyle behavior, protecting and caring for the environment
