Job Insecurity, Grit and Work Engagement in The Hospitality Industry During Covid-19
This research was conducted to identify the influence of job insecurity and grit toward work engagement on 276 hospitality employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. It consisted of 81 male respondents and 195 female respondents. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique, which has specific criteria. Those criteria are hospitality workers in hotels, the food and beverage industry, administration, marketing, travel, transportation, and housekeeping companies in Jakarta. This research used three measurement tools, namely, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (17 items; a = .856), the Job Insecurity Scale (9 items; a = .887), and the Grit Scale (12 items; a = .797). Multiple linear regression was used as a data analysis method. The findings indicated that during the COVID-19 pandemic, job insecurity and grit had an impact on the level of work engagement among hospitality employees. Job insecurity and grit both significantly affect how motivated people are at work in the hospitality industry. Employees’ job insecurity and grit have a positive relationship that can raise the value of work engagement. Therefore, decreasing job insecurity calls for high levels of grit and work engagement to keep employee positions within the organization. The strongest correlation was found between the dimensions of grit (perseverance of effort) and work engagement (dedication). Unlike this research, which was conducted on hospitality workers, the previous research was conducted on general workers. They expected the best performance, including maintaining a friendly smile and offering the best service in all circumstances while the pandemic was ongoing

Peran Keluarga yang Terpapar Covid-19 dalam Menguatkan Ketahanan Keluarga Perspektif Maqasid al-Shari’ah
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the family cluster was among the clusters that caused the spread of this virus. For families exposed to this virus, their family's resilience has been tested. This article discusses the resilience of families exposed to Covid-19 to be analyzed in maqasid al-shari’ah. The method used in this research is qualitative and field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed as normative-descriptive. This study concluded that families exposed to Covid-19 work together to fight this virus by adjusting their respective conditions. For the mild, they self-isolate at home, and those with severe illnesses are hospitalized. If a family dies from Covid-19, the family left behind is isolated. What the family exposed to Covid does is maintain family resilience and maintain the physical and psychic health of the family. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari'ah, the effort corresponds to the concepts of hifz al-din (guarding religion), hifz al-nasl (guarding offspring), hifz al-nafs (guarding the soul), and hifz al-'aql (guarding reason)
Qur'anic Logic in The Story of Prophets Abraham And Moses
This research intends to reveal the logical side of understanding God, from two great Prophets, Ibrahim and Musa through their stories in the Qur'an. This is because one of the elements of the Qur'anic mu'jizat, is a logical narrative that often appears in the dialogue of the prophets. Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Musa, were sent to a people who were smart enough to argue regarding their own misguidance. Both faced similar problems: facing idolaters and unjust rulers. In terms of requests to Allah, both even asked for almost the same thing: Prophet Ibrahim asked his descendants to be granted prophethood. Prophet Musa, asked that his brother be appointed Prophet. Both of them, at the level of trying to understand the Power of God itself: Prophet Ibrahim asked God about bringing the dead back to life; Prophet Moses asked about the knowledge that Prophet Khidir possessed. Methodically, this article is a literature study with a narrative approach to the same theme found in the stories of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Moses. This study concludes that there are at least two things in which both logically refute idolaters and rulers through narratives that are neatly recorded in the Qur'an. It also logically shows human aspects of kinship and curiosity
