    Determining the roles and competencies of social studies teachers in online distance education: Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin çevrim içi uzaktan eğitim rollerinin ve yeterliliklerinin belirlenmesi

    This study was carried out to determine the online role and competence levels of social studies teachers who carried out distance education activities for the first time with the pandemic. For this purpose, the distance education role and competence levels of social studies teachers were examined according to the variables of gender, age, education level, previous training in using computer or internet technology, and previous distance education. The research was designed with the survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the research consists of 68 social studies teachers working in 30 secondary schools determined in Izmir province in the 2021-2022 academic year. "Personal Information Form" created by the researcher and "Teacher Competencies Scale in Online Distance Education" developed by Kavrat and Türel (2013) were used as data collection tools. “Teacher Competencies Scale in Online Distance Education” consists of 20 items, and four factors, namely communicative role, technical role, social role and pedagogical role. As a result of the research, it was seen that the online distance education roles and competence levels of social studies teachers did not differ significantly according to gender, age or education level variables. While there is no difference in their pedagogical and technical roles depending on whether they have previously received training in using computer or internet technology; It has been observed that social studies teachers who have previously received training in using computer or internet technology have better proficiency in social and communicator roles. There was no significant difference in the values of social studies teachers regarding their pedagogical, technical and communicator roles depending on whether they had previously received distance education. However, it was concluded that social studies teachers who had previously received distance education had higher proficiency in their social roles. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document) Özet   Bu çalışma Pandemi ile beraber ilk defa uzaktan eğitim faaliyetleri gerçekleştiren sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin çevrim içi rol ve yeterlilik düzeylerini belirleyebilmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu genel amaç kapsamında sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin uzaktan eğitim rol ve yeterlilik düzeyleri cinsiyet, yaş, öğrenim düzeyi, önceden bilgisayar veya internet teknolojisi kullanmaya yönelik eğitim almış olma ve önceden uzaktan eğitim almış olma değişkenlerine göre incelenmiştir. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeliyle tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında İzmir ili içerisinde belirlenmiş 30 ortaokulda görevli, 59 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacının oluşturduğu “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve Kavrat ve Türel (2013)’in geliştirmiş olduğu “Çevrim içi Uzaktan Eğitimde Öğretmen Yeterlikleri Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. “Çevrim içi Uzaktan Eğitimde Öğretmen Yeterlikleri Ölçeği” 20 madde ve adları iletişimci rol, teknik rol, sosyal rol ve pedagojik rol olan dört faktörden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin çevrim içi uzaktan eğitim rol ve yeterlilik düzeylerinin cinsiyet, yaş ve öğrenim düzeyi değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği görülmüştür. Önceden bilgisayar veya internet teknolojisi kullanmaya yönelik eğitim almış olma durumlarına göre pedagojik ve teknik rollerinde farklılık görülmezken; Önceden bilgisayar veya internet teknolojisi kullanmaya yönelik eğitim almış olan sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin sosyal ve iletişimci rollerine ilişkin yeterliliklerinin daha iyi olduğu görülmüştür. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin önceden uzaktan eğitim almış olma durumlarına göre pedagojik, teknik ve iletişimci rollerine ilişkin değerlerinde de anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Ancak önceden uzaktan eğitim almış olan sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin sosyal rollerine ilişkin yeterliliklerinin daha yüksek olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır

    Factors related to the attitudes towards the older adults and emphatic skills of gerontology students

    Aim: In this study, we aimed to determine the factors related to the attitudes and empathic skill levels of gerontology students towards the older adults. Methods: 167 Gerontology students participated in our study. Data were collected by Google online survey method using personal information form, Kogan's Attitude towards Elderly Scale and Basic Empathy Scale. Results: Mean age of the students is 21.41 ± 2 year, 80% were female. A statistically significant difference was found between the students' grade level, their mother's education level, whether they lived with an older adult at any time in their lives, the duration of living with an older adult and the total score of the attitude towards the elderly scale (p < 0.001, 0.002, 0.017, 0.044, respectively). There was a statistically significant difference between gender, mother's education level, the place where they lived for the longest time and the positive attitude score towards the elderly (p = 0.008, 0.005, 0.019, respectively). There was a statistically significant difference between the students' grade level, number of siblings, whether they lived with an older adult at any time in their lives and the negative attitude score towards the elderly (p<0.001, 0.016, 0.028, respectively). A statistically significant difference was found between gender, mother's education level and the total score of the basic empathy scale (p<0.001, 0.005, respectively), emotional subscale (p<0.001, 0.041, respectively) and cognitive subscale scores (p = 0.007, 0.005, respectively). The mean Attitudes Towards Elderly Scale Total Score, Positive Attitude Sub-scale Score and Negative Attitude Sub-scale Score of the students were 156.52 ± 17.54, 72.59 ± 11.02 and 83.93 ± 11.89, respectively. The mean scores of Basic Empathy Scale Total Score, Cognitive Sub-scale Score and Emotional Sub-scale Score were 78.05 ± 10.19, 37.04 ± 4.94 and 41.02 ± 7.13, respectively. Conclusions: In our study, it was determined that the gerontology department students had high attitudes and empathic skills towards the older adults

    Examining the effects of yoga-based intervention program on children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder: Otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı çocuklarda yoga temelli müdahale programının etkilerinin incelenmesi

    Purpose: Yoga is a spiritual discipline and lifestyle that does not involve competition in its essence and helps ensure harmony between the body and soul. Yoga provides a relaxing environment that increases the self-confidence of the individual diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In this context, the aim of the research is to conduct a study examining the effects of yoga on physical development, cognitive development and psychosocial development in children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and the reasons for participation from the perspective of their parents. Method: In the research, a phenomenological research design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The research group consists of 6 parents of 6 children (3 girls, 3 boys) aged between 8-10 years diagnosed with ASD, who volunteered for their children to participate in a 20-week yoga-based physical activity program. The research was carried out with qualitative research method and the data of the research was collected by interview technique. Among the interview types, "open-ended interview form" was chosen. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained within the scope of the research. Findings: The findings of the study show that the yoga-based physical activity program has positive effects on the mental, physical, emotional, social and physiological development of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Two main themes were determined as the reasons for participating in the yoga-based physical activity program and the effects of participation in the yoga-based physical activity program. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it can be said that yoga-based physical activity program has positive effects on the mental, physical, emotional, social and physiological development of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, the research has determined that parents participate in yoga programs for their children to be healthy and socialize. From this, it can be said that the participants had the opinion that yoga was a beneficial activity before the program. In light of all this information; It is recommended that yoga-based physical activities be frequently included in activity programs prepared for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document) Özet Amaç: Yoga özünde rekabet barındırmayan, beden ve ruh arasındaki uyumun sağlanmasına yardımcı olan ruhsal bir disiplin ve yaşantı tarzıdır. Yoga otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı bireye özgüvenini arttıran, rahatlatan bir ortam sağlar.Bu kapsamda araştırmanın amacı yoganın otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı çocuklarda, fiziksel gelişim, bilişsel gelişim ve psikososyal gelişim alanları üzerindeki etkilerinin ve katılım nedenlerinin ebeveynleri perspektifinden inceleyen bir çalışmanın yürütülmesidir. Yöntem:Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenolojik araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma grubu, OSB tanılı 8-10 yaş aralığında olan 6 (3 kız, 3 erkek) çocuğa sahip, çocuklarının 20 haftalık yoga temelli fiziksel aktivite programına katılmasına gönüllü olmuş 6 ebeveynden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiş olup, araştırmanın verileri görüşme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Görüşme türlerinden ise, “açık uçlu görüşme formu” seçilmiştir Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise içerik analizi yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmanın bulguları yoga temelli fiziksel aktivite programının otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı bireylerin zihinsel, fiziksel, duygusal, sosyal ve fizyolojik gelişim alanlarında olumlu etkileri olduğunu göstermektedir.Yoga temelli fiziksel aktivite programına katılım nedenleri ve yoga temelli fiziksel aktivite programına katılım etkileri olarak iki ana tema belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda yoga temelli fiziksel aktivite programının otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı bireylerin zihinsel, fiziksel, duygusal, sosyal ve fizyolojik gelişim alanlarında olumlu etkileri olduğu söylenebilmektedir. Bunların yanı sıra araştırma ebeveynlerin çocuklarının sağlıklı olması ve sosyalleşmesi için yoga programına katılım sağladıkları belirlenmiştir. Buradan aslında katılımcıların program öncesinde yoganın faydalı bir aktivite olduğuna dair görüşe sahip oldukları da söylenebilmektedir. Tüm bu bilgiler ışığında; otizm spektrum bozukluğu tanılı bireylere yönelik hazırlanan aktivite programlarında yoga temelli fiziksel aktivitelere sıklıkla yer verilmesi önerilmektedir

    Being a caregiver in the management of chronic mental illness: A phenomenological qualitative research

    Research aim/problem: This research was performed to evaluate the caring experiences of caregivers’ of individuals diagnosed mental illness. Method: This qualitative study was performed with 13 caregivers who care for individuals who had chronic mental illness at inpatient units and community mental health center of a hospital serving in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The data collection process was performed by introductory form, semi-structured interview forms were used during interviews as face-to-face in-depth interviews. Results: The sample population was comprised of 13 caregivers. The participants’ average age was 45.6 (min: 29–max: 62), of which 5 were single, 8 were women, 2 had a graduate degree, 8 had children. Participants had an average of 10 years of caring period (min: 3- max:22) and %61.5 had a support during a patient care. According to the results, five themes were determined related to experiences of caregivers. Themes were “difficulties related to caring, experiences related to social life, experiences related to emotional issues, positive aspects and experiences related to family matters”. Subthemes of this study were controlling behaviors, treatment follow up, controlling disease symptoms, planning future, stigmatization, restrictions on social life, emotional expression, ambivalant emotion, crisis management, sharing similar experiences, effectiveness of education, family support, daily routines, family roles. Conclusion: In this research, difficulties of the caregiving process are management of emotional and behavioral problems, maintaining treatment, stigma, social limitations, changes in family dynamics ve concerns about the future. Educational activities and sharing similar experiences with other caregivers were determined as positive experiences. Supporting caregivers in chronic mental illnesses can improve care quality by reducing the burden of care. It is important to plan effective interventions for caregivers, to implement psychoeducational programs and to provide home psychiatric care services

    The effect of mobile learning on safe ventrogluteal site injections: an interventional study

    ABSTRACT Purpose: This study investigated whether a mobile learning program helped nurses give safer injections into the ventrogluteal site. Method: This interventional study was conducted between 20.08.2020 and 30.10.2020. The sample consisted of 34 nurses working at the adult units of a university hospital in a big city in Turkey. The study was approved by an ethics committee. Permission was obtained from the hospital. Informed consent was obtained from participants. Data were collected using a personal information form (pretest), the Ventrogluteal Area Knowledge Form (VAKF) (pretest and posttest), and the Training Effectiveness Evaluation Form (posttest). Participants watched an animation on their mobile phones for a week (intervention). The data were analyzed using the independent samples t-test and McNemar's test. Findings:  Participants had a mean pretest and posttest VAKF score of 12.82±3.80 and 16.97±2.84, respectively (p<0.05). After the intervention, most participants said "yes" to the statement, “The ventrogluteal site includes the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles” (91.2%) (p<0.05). Conclusion:  The intervention helped nurses develop the cognitive skills necessary to administer safe injections into the ventrogluteal site.     Assessment of traditional and complementary methods used by patients with hypertension to reduce blood pressure: Hipertansiyon tanısı olan hastaların kan basıncını düşürmeye yönelik kullandıkları geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemlerin değerlendirilmesi

    This research is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted to evaluate the traditional and complementary methods used by hypertension patients to lower blood pressure. The sample of the survey was conducted in a university hospital in Turkey of West, who are diagnosed with hypertension, matching the sample selection criteria and who wish to participate in the study comprised 193 patients. The data were collected through a questionnaire created by the researchers. In statistical analysis, descriptive statistics and chi-square test and Fisher's exact chi-square test were used. Considering the findings, the average age of the participants in the study was 56.6±9.6 and the diagnosis period of hypertension was 7.1±5.6 years. It was determined that 65.8% of the patients used traditional and complementary methods and 73.6% of those using complementary methods did not inform the healthcare personnel about this situation. 93.7% of the patients stated that they used herbal method as a traditional and complementary method, 43% stated that they received this information from their environment and 52.3% used the traditional and complementary method to lower their blood pressure. As a result, it was determined that patients with hypertension often resort to traditional and complementary methods. Based on this results, we suggest that health professionals should question the traditional and complementary methods used by individuals with hypertension, improve their knowledge on traditional and complementary methods, and increase in-service training on this subject. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document)   Özet Bu araştırma, hipertansiyon tanısı olan hastaların kan basınçlarını düşürmek için kullandıkları geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmış tanımlayıcı-kesitsel tipte bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Türkiye’nin batısındaki bir üniversite hastanesinde hipertansiyon tanısı olan, örneklem seçim kriterlerine uyan ve çalışmaya katılmak isteyen 193 hasta oluşturdu. Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan soru formu aracılığı ile toplandı. İstatistiksel analizde, tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile ki-kare ve Fisher’in kesin ki-kare testi kullanıldı. Bulgulara bakıldığında, araştırmaya katılanların yaş ortalaması 56,6±9,6 ve hipertansiyon tanı süreleri 7,1±5,6 yıldır. Hastaların %65,8’inin geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntem kullandıkları, tamamlayıcı yöntem kullananlardan %73,6’sının bu durumdan sağlık personelini haberdar etmediği belirlendi. Hastaların %93,7’si geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntem olarak bitkisel yöntem kullandıklarını, %43’ü ise bu bilgiyi çevresinden aldığını ve %52,3’ü geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemi tansiyonunu düşürmek için kullandığını ifade etti. Sonuç olarak, hipertansiyonlu hastaların sıklıkla geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemlere başvurdukları belirlendi. Bu bulgulardan hareketle, sağlık profesyonellerinin hipertansiyonu olan bireylerin kullandıkları geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemleri sorgulamalarını, geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı yöntemler konusunda bilgilerini geliştirmelerini ve bu konuda yapılacak hizmet içi eğitimlerin arttırılmasını öneriyoruz

    An alternative approach for daily perineal care of patients with indwelling urinary catheterization: Photodynamic inactivation with cationic porphyrin derivatives

    Background: Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) constitute a significant portion of healthcare-associated infections. Using antiseptic for routine daily perineal care of patients with IUC may reduce CAUTIs. Aim: This study aimed to examine antimicrobial photodynamic inactivation (aPDI) against clinical isolates for use in the daily perineal care of patients with IUC. In addition, it was also aimed to compare the antimicrobial activities of aPDI and 0.1% chlorhexidine gluconate. Methods:  In this in-vitro study, cationic porphyrin derivatives (CPDs) were used as photosensitizers in the experiments. CPDs, named PM, PE, PN, and PL were synthesized by the researchers. A diode laser device emitting light with a wavelength of 450 nm (blue light) was used as the light source. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae with multidrug-resistant (MDR) properties and Candida albicans were used.  Photosensitizer (PS), aPDI, light (L), and control (C) groups in aPDI experiments; control (C) and chlorhexidine gluconate 0.1% groups were used in the chlorhexidine gluconate experiments. Survival was calculated based on CFU/mL in the control group. Results: In experiments, combinations of 25 J/cm² with 6.25 and 3.125 µM PM, PE reduced E. coli, K. pneumoniae, MRSA, and C. albicans survival in the range of 8.70 to 11.53 log₁₀. In aPDI experiments performed with 6.25 and 3.125 µM PN and PL concentrations at the same energy density, reductions in the range of 4.41 to 0.17 log₁₀ were observed in all four clinical isolates. In experiments where 1.5625 µM concentration was used, survival decreased in the range of 8.29 to 10.87 log₁₀ in PM and PE, while antimicrobial activity was limited in PN and PL. In the 0.1% chlorhexidine gluconate experiments, the survival reduction in all four clinical isolates ranged from 8.87 to 10.24 log₁₀. Conclusion: For PM and PE, a very strong aPDI was obtained in C. albicans, E.coli, K. pneumoniae, and MRSA at low concentrations and energy density. The same antimicrobial activity was found in experiments using 0.1% chlorhexidine gluconate. In this context, we would like to inform you that aPDI to be performed with a combination of 25 J/cm² at 6.25 and 3.125 µM concentrations of PM and PE has the potential to be an antiseptic in the daily perineal care of patients with IUC

    Determination of midwives' attitudes towards technology and factors affecting them: Ebelerin teknolojiye ilişkin tutumları ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi

    Aim: This study was conducted out to determine the attitudes of midwives working in a public hospital towards technology and the factors affecting it. Materials and Methods: The sample of the study, which was conducted in a descriptive design, consisted of 112 midwives actively working in a public hospital (Participation Rate: 82%). The data were collected with the "Personal Information Form" and the "Attitudes Towards Technology Scale (ATTS)". Results: It was determined that the average age of the midwives participating in the study was 27.14±4.95 (min: 21, max: 48) and 76.8% of the participants were undergraduate graduates. It was determined that 58% of the midwives worked between 1-5 years. It was determined that 60.7% of the participants partially benefited from technological devices while working in the clinic, while 83% had difficulty using technological devices. In the clinic, most monitors (91.1%), blood pressure and glucometer (91.1%) are mostly used for purposes such as following laboratory information (83%), entering or exiting materials (77.7%), drug tracking (68.8%) and midwifery care registration (63.4%). It was determined that 95.5%, digital thermometer (82.1%), computer (95.5%) and similar technological devices were used. It was found that problems such as connection/power supply interruption (69.6%) and slow system operation (89.3%) were frequently encountered while using these devices. The total score of midwives in ATTS was determined as 136.04±24.64. When the attitudes of midwives towards technology are evaluated in terms of different variables; It was determined that variables such as education level, clinic worked, years of work and benefiting from technological devices in the institution significantly differed the total score of ATTS. Conclusion: It was identified that the attitudes of midwives towards technology were positive and affected by many variables. It is recommended to organize in-service trainings and certificate programs to ensure the integration of current technologies in midwifery care. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document) Özet Amaç: Bu çalışma bir kamu hastanesinde çalışan ebelerin teknolojiye ilişkin tutumları ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütüldü. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı desende yürütülen araştırmanın örneklemini bir kamu hastanesinde aktif olarak görev yapan 112 ebe oluşturdu (Katılım Oranı: %82). Veriler “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Teknolojiye Karşı Tutum Ölçeği (TKTÖ)” ile toplandı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan ebelerin yaş ortalamasının 27.14±4.95 (min: 21, max:48) olduğu ve katılımcıların %76.8’inin lisans mezunu olduğu saptandı. Ebelerin, %58’inin çalışma sürelerinin 1-5 yıl arasında değiştiği belirlendi. Katılımcıların, %60.7’sinin klinikte çalışırken teknolojik cihazlardan kısmen faydalandığı tespit edilirken, %83’ünün ise teknolojik aletlerden yararlanırken zorluk yaşadığı saptandı. Klinikte, çoğunlukla laboratuvar bilgilerini takip etme (%83), malzeme giriş veya çıkışı yapma (%77.7), ilaç takibi (%68.8) ve ebelik bakım kaydı (%63.4) gibi amaçlarla en çok monitör (%91.1), tansiyon ve glukometre (%95.5), dijital termometre (%82.1), bilgisayar (%95.5) ve benzeri teknolojik cihazların kullanıldığı saptandı.  Bu cihazları kullanırken sıklıkla bağlantı/güç kaynağı kesintisi (%69.6) ve sistemin yavaş çalışması (%89.3) gibi problemler yaşandığı saptandı. Ebelerin TKTÖ toplam puanı 136,04±24.64 olarak belirlendi. Ebelerin teknolojiye olan tutumları farklı değişkenler açısından değerlendirildiğinde; eğitim durumu, çalışılan klinik, çalışma yılı ve kurumdaki teknolojik cihazlardan faydalanma durumu gibi değişkenlerin TKTÖ toplam puan ortalamasını anlamlı olarak farklılaştırdığı tespit edildi.  Sonuç: Ebelerin teknolojiye karşı tutumlarının olumlu olduğu ve birçok değişkenden etkilendiği belirlendi. Güncel teknolojilerin ebelik bakımında entegrasyonun sağlanması için hizmet içi eğitimlerin ve sertifika programlarının düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir

    Determining the relationship between land and ice performance values and gender in ice hockey athletes: Buz hokeyi sporcularında kara ve buz performans değerleri ile cinsiyet arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi

    The aim of this study is to determine the on-ice and off-ice performance values of female and male ice hockey players, examine the relationship between these values, reveal the differences in athletic performance values between the two genders, and compare the branch-specific tests used in talent selection in ice hockey. The universe of this research consists of ice hockey players playing in the Youth Ice Hockey League in the 2022-2023 season. The sample group consists of a total of 37 ice hockey players, 24 males and 13 females, aged between 13-14, selected for the Anatolian Stars League. SPSS 20.0 package program was used to analyze the collected data. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests were used to examine the distribution of the data. Correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between on-ice and off-ice performance values. Positive moderate level correlations were found between the on-ice s-turn test and the off-ice hand-eye coordination test, the on-ice shot speed test and the off-ice stork balance test, and the on-ice maximum speed test and the off-ice hand-eye coordination and 20m speed tests for female ice hockey players. No significant relationship was found between the on-ice and off-ice athletic performance values applied to male participants. (Extended English summary is at the end of this document) Özet Bu çalışmada kadın ve erkek buz hokeyi sporcularının buz üstü ve buz dışı performans değerlerini tespit ederek ilişki düzeylerini incelemek, iki cinsiyet arasındaki atletik performans değerlerinin farklılıklarını ortaya çıkartmak ve buz hokeyi branşında yetenek seçiminde kullanılan branşa özgü testler arasında mukayese yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2022-2023 sezonunda gençler Buz Hokeyi Liginde oynayan buz hokeyi sporcuları oluşturmuştur. Örneklem grubunu ise Anadolu Yıldızlar Ligi’ ne seçilen 13-14 yaş aralığındaki 24 erkek, 13 kadın olmak üzere toplam 37 buz hokeyi sporcusu oluşturmuştur. Toplanan verilerin çözümlenmesinde SPSS 20.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin dağılımını incelemek için Kolmogorov-Smirnov ve Shapiro-Wilk normallik testleri kullanılmıştır. Buz üstü ve buz dışı performans değerleri arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek için ise korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Kadın buz hokeyi sporcularının katılımcıların buz üstü virajlı çeviklik testi (s-turn) ile buz dışı el-göz koordinasyon testi arasında pozitif yönlü orta düzeyde, buz üstü şut hızı testi ile buz dışı stork denge testi arasında pozitif yönlü orta düzeyde, buz üstü maksimum hız testi ile buz dışı el-göz koordinasyon testi ve 20m sürat testi arasında pozitif yönlü orta düzeyde anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Erkek katılımcılara uygulanan buz üstü ve buz dışı atletik performans değerleri arasında herhangi bir anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmemiştir

    Relationship between nurses' perceptions of distance in-service training activities and job motivations

    Background: The use of innovative technologies in continuing education activities in nursing is important in terms of increasing the quality of care. Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurses’ perceptions of distance in-service training and job motivations. Study Design: This study was designed as descriptive and correlational. Methods:. This study population consisted of nurses working in rooted education-research and state hospitals that continue distance in-service training activities. The study were conducted an 703 nurses between October 2020 and January 2021. Data were collected with the “Information Form”, the “Distance In-Service Training Perception Scale” and the “Nurse Job Motivation Scale”. Findings: The nurses’ total mean scale scores were 3.21±.97 for the “Distance In-Service Training Perception Scale” and 59.98±10.01 for the “Nurse Job Motivation Scale”. This showed that the nurses’ perception towards distance in-service training and job motivations were positively above the average. Nurses’ perception towards distance in-service training and job motivations were affected by gender, marital status, education level, type of institution, work years, type of employment, way of working, unit and choosing the profession and unit willingly. The nurses’ perception towards distance in-service training weren’t affected by distance or face-to-face education methods. It was determined that there was a weak positive relationship and a statistically highly significant relationship between the nurses’ perception towards distance in-service training activities and job motivations. Conclusion: It is thought that the use of innovative teaching methods and materials in continuing training activities will contribute to the continuity of professional development and to increase job motivations
