Postural analysis of adolescent young athletes in different sports branches
The effects of posture on athletic performance have been the focus of attention of many researchers and the importance of body posture in achieving success has become undeniable. This study aimed to perform the postural evaluation of adolescent youth athletes who are trained in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and swimming branches. A total of 88 adolescent athletes (32 boys and 56 girls) with an average age of ±12.37 years, an average height of ±1.58 cm, an average body weight of ±48.2 kg, an average BMI of ±18.19 and an average training age of ±2.06 years from football, volleyball, and swimming branches actively active in Manisa and Bursa provinces participated in the study. Posture analysis of the athletes was performed using the Apecs-AI Posture Evaluation and Correction System® mobile posture application. The data obtained from the athletes were evaluated with the NewYork Posture Assessment Test (NYPD). The data obtained from the study were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 package program. One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used for independent samples. According to the results of the analysis, there was a significant difference between training age and NYPD scores according to branches (p<.05). Significance was found between NYPD and body axis scores in volleyball and soccer athletes (p<.05). There was no difference between NYPD and other variables in swimming and basketball. As a result, it is thought that the effect of the training age variable on posture structures differs specifically according to the branches, and posture is negatively affected as the training age increases in volleyball and soccer players
Determination of health care workers’ knowledge of apitherapy and bee products, and food neophobia
Aim: To determine the knowledge of healthcare workers about apitherapy and bee products, and food neophobia.
Method: This study is a descriptive and cross-sectional study. A total of 456 healthcare workers working in different professions participated in the study. The questionnaire contained questions about demographic features, knowledge and use of apitherapy and bee products, and a food neophobia scale. The data obtained were evaluated with the SPSS program.
Findings: Of the healthcare workers, 66.4% were female, 45.6% were physicians and 34.0% were nurses. 54.0% of the healthcare workers were in the 20-29 age group and the difference between the age groups in consumption of bee products was statistically significant (p<0.05). 32.0% of healthcare workers stated that they had heard of apitherapy before, while 71.0% stated that they did not know apitherapy products. Those who have never heard of its effects on health care 59%, while those who think it has a curative effect on diseases are 36.3%. On the other hand, 65.6% of healthcare workers consumed any of the bee products. Honey is the bee product consumed every day (5.1%). When weekly consumption was questioned, the frequency of consumption of honey, propolis and bee pollen 1-2 days a week was 27.1%, 2.2%, and 1.0%, respectively; the frequency of consumption 2-3 days a week was 20.9% for honey and 5.6% for propolis. Apilarnil was consumed once every six months (0.5%), while bee bread was never consumed. Among healthcare workers, 18.6% were neophilic, 63.6% were neutral and 17.8% were neophobic. The difference between the groups according to age, occupation, and use of food supplements was significant (p<0.05).
Conclusion: It was found that most of the healthcare workers had no knowledge about apitherapy and bee products, and age, occupation and using dietary supplements affected the level of food neophobia.
Psychological problem caused by lack of leisure activities for working people: Sunday syndrome: Çalışan bireylerde rekreatif aktivite bulamamanın neden olduğu psikolojik sorun: Pazar günü sendromu
This article focuses on the “Sunday syndrome”, a psychological condition experienced by working individuals in particular. This psychological process, which follows weekday work and occurs on Sunday, is examined from Viktor Frankl’s existential psychology perspective. Sunday syndrome is expressed as a condition that causes individuals who spend their weekday workdays with a certain work tempo at their workplaces to feel empty after the relative intensity they experience, thus triggering the individual to fall into an existential void and search for meaning. This syndrome, which has a direct and close relationship with Frankl’s concept of existential void, stands out as a state of mind that occurs especially due to individuals experiencing a loss of meaning, not being able to find a recreational activity to engage in on the weekend, or social and environmental inadequacies. In the article, based on Frankl’s existential philosophy, it is suggested that working individuals turn to recreational activities as a solution to Sunday syndrome, and it draws attention to the fact that new types of activities diversified by the development of technology can alleviate this feeling of emptiness in individuals, and opinions and suggestions are included in this direction.

Bu makalede, özellikle çalışan bireylerin yaşadığı psikolojik bir durum olan “Pazar günü sendromu” üzerinde durulmaktadır. Hafta içi çalışma günlerini takip eden ve Pazar günü ortaya çıkan bu psikolojik süreç, Viktor Frankl’ın varoluşçu psikoloji perspektifinde incelenmektedir. Pazar günü sendromu, hafta içi çalışma günlerini işyerlerindeki belirli bir çalışma temposuyla geçiren bireylerin, yaşadıkları görece yoğunluğunun ardından kendilerini boşlukta hissetmelerine neden olan, bu nedenle de bireyin varoluşsal boşluğa düşmesini ve anlam arayışını tetikleyen bir durum olarak ifade edilmektedir. Frankl’ın varoluşsal boşluk kavramı ile doğrudan ve yakın bir ilişki içinde olan bu sendrom, özellikle bireylerin anlam kaybı yaşaması, hafta sonunda uğraşacak bir rekreatif aktivite bulamaması ya da sosyal ve çevresel yetersizlikler nedeniyle oluşan bir ruh hâli olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Makalede, Frankl’ın varoluşsal felsefesi temelinde çalışan bireylere yönelik olarak Pazar günü sendromuna çözüm olarak rekreatif aktivitelere yönelmesi önerilmekte, teknolojinin gelişmesiyle çeşitlenen yeni aktivite türlerinin bireylerin bu boşluk hissini hafifletebilecekleri gerçeğine dikkat çekilerek bu doğrultuda görüş ve önerilere yer verilmektedir
Determination of nursing students’ levels of cultural awareness, intercultural sensitivity, and their perspectives on culturally sensitive nursing care: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kültürel farkındalık, kültürlerarası duyarlılık düzeyleri ve kültüre duyarlı hemşirelik bakımına ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi
Research problem/aim: This study aims to determine the levels of cultural awareness and cultural sensitivity among nursing students and explore their perspectives on culturally sensitive nursing care.
Methods: The descriptive research was conducted with 332 students studying at a state university. Data collection instruments included a socio-demographic information form, intercultural sensitivity scale, cultural awareness scale, and a survey of perspesctives on culturally sensitive nursing care.
Findings: Among the nursing students surveyed, 55.7% reported regular interactions with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, while 30.4% engaged with diverse cultures through social media. Furthermore, 56.0% expressed their interest in pursuing educational opportunities in foreign countries through student exchange programs, and 55.1% indicated a desire to work abroad after graduation. Only 3.3% of students reported receiving formal education on culturally sensitive patient care approaches, and 27.4% claimed to have prior experience in providing care to patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. During care provision to patients from diverse cultures, students acknowledged placing the highest emphasis on effective communication (24.4%), while paying the least attention to entertainment and social activities (0.3%). Students scored an average of 168.0±22.8 points on the Cultural Awareness Scale and 91.0±14.2 points on the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale. Analysis of students’ attitudes towards culturally sensitive nursing care revealed their strongest agreement with statements related to social justice, healthcare systems, and cultural practice standards.
Conclusion: In the study, it has been determined that nursing students generally possess a moderate level of intercultural sensitivity and cultural awareness, and they mostly agreed to the standards for culturally compenent care. To enhance nursing students’ ability to provide culturally competent care, recommendations include the incorporation of simulation exercises, active teaching methods like standardized patient interactions in intercultural nursing education, the establishment of clinical practice environments that facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge, and support for students' interactions with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.

Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmada hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kültürel farkındalık ve kültürel duyarlılık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve öğrencilerin kültüre duyarlı hemşirelik bakımına yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel türde planlanan araştırma bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 332 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri yaş, cinsiyet, sınıf gibi bazı sosyo-demografik özellikleri ile farklı kültürler ile etkileşimi ele alan tanıtıcı bilgi formu, kültürlerarası duyarlılık ölçeği, kültürel farkındalık ölçeği ve kültüre duyarlı hemşirelik bakımına ilişkin görüş formu ile toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan hemşirelik öğrencilerinin %55.7’si başka kültürlerden bireylerle bir arada bulunduğunu, %30.4’ü sosyal medyada farklı kültürlerden bireylerle iletişim kurduğunu, %56.0’ı öğrenci değişim programları ile eğitim amaçlı farklı bir ülkeye gitmek istediklerini, %55.1’i ise mezun olduktan sonra yabancı bir ülkede çalışmayı düşündüklerini bildirmiştir. Öğrencilerin %3.3’ü farklı kültürden hastaya yaklaşım ile ilgili eğitim aldığını ve %27.4’ü farklı kültürden hastaya bakım verme deneyimi olduğunu belirtmiştir. Farklı kültürden hastaya bakım verirken en fazla iletişim %24.4, en az eğlence/sosyal aktivitelere %0.3 ilişkin özelliklere dikkat edildiği ve en fazla iletişim %22.3 alanında zorluk yaşandığı bildirilmiştir. Öğrenciler Kültürel Farkındalık Ölçeğinden 168.0±22.8 puan, Kültürlerarası Duyarlılık Ölçeğinden 91.0±14.2 puan almıştır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kültüre duyarlı hemşirelik bakımına yaklaşımları incelendiğinde öğrencilerin kültürel yeterli bakım için uygulama standartlarından sosyal adalet, sağlık bakım sistemleri ve kültürel uygulama standartlarına yönelik ifadelere en fazla katılım gösterdiği saptanmıştır.
Sonuç: Araştırmada hemşirelik öğrencilerinin orta düzeyde kültürlerarası duyarlılık ve kültürel farkındalığa sahip olduğu ve kültüre yeterli bakıma yönelik standartlara çoğunlukla katıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kültürel olarak yeterli bakım sunabilmeleri için kültürlerarası hemşirelik eğitimlerinde simülasyon uygulamaları, standardize hasta gibi aktif öğretim yöntemlerinin kullanılması, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin teorik bilgilerini uygulamaya aktardıkları klinik uygulama ortamlarının düzenlenmesi ve öğrencilerin farklı kültürlerden bireylerle etkileşimlerinin sağlanması önerilmektedir
The Relationship of emotion regulation difficulties and hedonic hunger situations with food addiction: a study on health professionals
Aim: This study was to evaluate emotion regulation difficulties and hedonic hunger situations in healthcare workers and examine the relationship with food addiction.
Method: A questionnaire consisting of demographic characteristics, Difficulty in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), Power of Food Scale (PFS) and Yale Food Addiction Scale (YFAS) was administered to participants and analyzed in SPSS v26. A total of 671 healthcare workers, 465 females and 206 males, participated in the study and the mean age of the participants was 34,6910,11 years, mean body mass index was 23.97±3.24 kg/m2.
Results: It was found that a significantly increase in the score of healthcare workers DERS-16 increases the score of YFAS and an increase score of PFS increases the score of YFAS. It was found that significantly as the “YFAS Total” scores of the healthcare workers increased, the “Clarity”, “Goals” sub-factor scores of DERS-16 and “DERS-16 Total” scores and the “Food Present”, “Food Available”, “Food Tasted” sub-factor of PFS and “PFS Total” scores increased.
Conclusion: As the emotion regulation difficulties and hedonic hunger scores increased, the food addiction scores increased
The investigation of the attitudes of students at the faculty of sports sciences towards human rights in sports according to different variables: Spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin sporda insan hakları tutumlarının farklı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi
The aim of this research is to examine the attitudes of students studying at the faculty of sports sciences towards human rights in sports in terms of different variables. The research group consists of 85 (41.1%) women and 122 (58.9%) men studying at the faculty of sports sciences. The data collection tools in the research are the personal information form and the Human Rights in Sports Attitude Scale. It was determined that the scores of the participants from the human rights attitude scale in sports were above the average. It was determined that the participants human rights in sports attitude scale and its subdimensions did not differ according to the gender variable. According to the participants' department variable, a significant difference was detected in favor of coaching education only between coaching education and physical education and sports teachers in the subdimension of solidarity rights. Another finding of the research was that as the age of the participants increased, the values they received from personal rights increased, and as the age decreased, the attitude towards social rights increased. As a result, people who are interested in the field of sports sciences attract wide attention with their popular lectures, seminars, and other elements regarding human rights in sports.

Bu araştırmanın amacı spor bilimleri fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan öğrencilerin farklı değişkenler açısından sporda insan hakları tutumlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırma grubu spor bilimleri fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 85 (%41.1) kadın ve 122 (%58.9) erkekten oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları ise kişisel bilgi formu ile Sporda İnsan Hakları Tutum Ölçeği’dir. Katılımcıların sporda insan hakları tutum ölçeğinden almış oldukları puanların ortalama seviyenin üzerinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların sporda insan hakları tutum ölçeği ve alt boyutlarının cinsiyet değişkenine göre farklılaşmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların bölüm değişkenine göre sadece dayanışma hakları alt boyutunda antrenörlük eğitimi ve beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenleri arasında antrenörlük eğitimi lehine anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadaki bir başka bulgu ise katılımcıların yaşları arttıkça kişilik haklarından aldıkları değerlerin artış gösterdiği yaş azaldıkça sosyal haklara yönelik tutumun arttığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak spor bilimleri alanında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sporda insan haklarıyla ilgili farkındalık düzeylerinin ders, seminer ve benzeri unsurlarla arttırılması gerektiği düşünülmektedir
Suggestion on the elderly care model specific to Türkiye: Türkiye’ye özgü yaşlı bakım modeli üzerine öneriler
The world population is aging as a result of increasing life expectancy and decreasing birth rates. Since Turkey is among the fastest aging countries in the world, social aging is expected to emerge as a significant problem in the coming years. This research is a qualitative study conducted to determine suggestions for creating an elderly care model specific to Turkey. In this context, in-depth interviews were conducted face to face or online with eight participants providing elderly care services and seven participants receiving the service. Participants were determined by snowball sampling method. Semi-structured questionnaires were used as data collection tools and the obtained data were analyzed using the MAXQDA computer program. The expressions used by the participants in the interviews were coded 306 times under 86 headings and collected under four themes. "Health services provided to the elderly" was the theme with the most codes (33.01%). “Care services for the elderly” was coded 92 times (30.07%), “Social services and social assistance for the elderly” was coded 76 (24.84%) and “Financing, social security system and legal regulations” was coded 37 (12.09%) times. . As a result of the research, suggestions were made for the elderly care model specific to Turkey to improve the health system offered to the elderly, strengthen the social security system, improve care services for the elderly and strengthen social services and social assistance for the elderly.

Yaşam süresinin uzaması ve doğum oranlarının düşmesi sonucunda dünya nüfusu yaşlanmaktadır. Türkiye, dünyada en hızlı yaşlanan ülkeler arasında yer aldığı için gelecek yıllarda toplumsal yaşlanmanın önemli bir problem olarak ortaya çıkması beklenmektedir. Bu araştırma, Türkiye’ye özgü yaşlı bakım modeli oluşturulmasına yönelik öneriler belirlemek amacıyla yapılan niteliksel bir çalışmadır. Bu kapsamda yaşlı bakım hizmeti sunan sekiz ve hizmeti alan yedi katılımcı yüz yüze ya da online olarak derinlemesine görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcılar kartopu örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış soru formları kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler, MAXQDA bilgisayar programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Görüşmelerde katılımcıların kullandıkları ifadeler 86 başlık altında 306 kez kodlanmış ve dört tema altında toplanmıştır. “Yaşlılara sunulan sağlık hizmetleri” en çok kod içeren tema olmuştur (%33,01). “Yaşlılara yönelik bakım hizmetleri” 92 (%30,07), “Yaşlılara yönelik sosyal hizmetler ve sosyal yardımlar” 76 (%24,84) ve “Finansman, sosyal güvenlik sistemi ve hukuki düzenlemeler” 37 (%12,09) kez kodlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Türkiye’ye özgü yaşlı bakım modeli için yaşlılara sunulan sağlık sistemini iyileştirilmesi, sosyal güvenlik sistemini güçlendirilmesi, yaşlılara yönelik bakım hizmetlerinin iyileştirmesi ve yaşlılara yönelik sosyal hizmetler ve sosyal yardımları güçlendirmesine yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur
Enhancing physical education at the middle school level exploring three innovative teaching methods
Times have evolved in the world of Physical Education (PE). The subject area has undergone significant changes, leaving behind the experiences of previous generations. The article explores the shifts in middle school PE, recognizing the challenges arising from decreased participation and motivation. Acknowledging the critical role of PE in shaping resilient, active, and self-motivated individuals, this article aims to help current PE teachers incorporate innovative teaching methods by giving some examples of how to do so. The article dives into three innovative teaching methods: gamification and technology integration, student-centered inquiry, and the flipped classroom. Gamification, combining play and technology into PE, catches students' attention and becomes an exciting journey. Student-centered inquiry allows learners to actively participate in their educational journey, encouraging exploration, critical thinking, and a genuine passion for physical activity. The flipped classroom strategy optimizes class time for physical activity by shifting content delivery outside the classroom. The impact of these innovative methods extends beyond traditional instructional approaches. They enhance student engagement and motivation, making PE relatable and enjoyable, which leads to increased participation and motivation. These helpful strategies encourage the development of essential life skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, and self-motivation, preparing students for challenges that go beyond the gymnasium
The impact of physical education and sports lessons on physical activity competence
In this study, it is aimed to compare the Physical Activity (PA) proficiency of 12th-grade students in Bingöl Province who take and do not take Physical Education and Sports (PES) lesson in the 2023-2024 academic years. A total of 231 12th-grade students (105 girls and 126 boys), with an average age of 17.51±0.57 years, height of 169.49±9.42 cm, and weight of 60.05±11.94 kg, participated in the study. Of these students, 149 were enrolled in PES lesson at two different Anadolu high schools, while 82 were not enrolled in PES lesson at two different vocational and technical Anadolu high schools. The Physical Activity Proficiency Scale (PAAS), developed by Campbell et al. in 2016 and adapted into Turkish by Saygın et al. in 2017, was applied to the participants to assess their physical activity proficiency. The obtained data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. The level of statistical significance (α error level) was accepted as p<0.05. A significant difference in favor of students who take PES lessons was found between the students who take and do not take PES in the second item of the "Physical Activity at School" dimension and the third item of the "Physical Activity in Transportation" dimension (p<0.05). Although no significant differences were found in other dimensions and items, participants who took PES lesson scored higher than their peers who did not take PES. In the data obtained based on gender, no statistically significant difference was found between male students who take and do not take PES lesson. In females, a statistically significant difference was found in favor of participants who take PES lesson in the first, second, third, and sixth items of the "Physical Activity at School" dimension (p<0.05). Based on the data obtained, 12th-grade students who take PES lessons have more confidence in their physical activity proficiency. In conclusion, by encouraging students to engage in physical activity, it can be said that promoting exercise habits in children will not only enhance their academic success but also help them integrate exercise into their lives after their education, leading to a healthier body
The role of shared leadership practices in schools on organizational synergy: Okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarının örgütsel sinerji üzerindeki rolü
The aim of this research is to reveal the level of importance of the role of shared leadership practices in schools on organizational synergy. The research was designed correlational model. The population of the research consists of teachers working in Eyüp Sultan, Fatih, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bayrampaşa and Beyoğlu districts of Istanbul province in the 2023 - 2024 academic year, and the sample consists of 330 teachers determined by the convenience sampling method. Istanbul in the 2023 - 2024 academic year. The sample of the study was determined by convenience sampling. The data were collected with the "Shared Leadership Perception Scale" and "Organizational Synergy Scale for Teachers". According to the findings, teachers' perceptions of shared leadership practices and organizational synergy in schools were found to be high. Teachers' views on shared leadership practices in schools showed significant differences according to gender and working time in the same school. It was determined that teachers' perception levels of organizational synergy differed significantly according to the seniority variable. The perceptions of teachers regarding shared leadership practices and organizational synergy levels in schools do not significant differences according to other demographic variables. A significant, positive and strong relationship was found between shared leadership practices in schools and teachers' perceptions of organizational synergy. It was concluded that shared leadership practices in schools are a significant predictor of organizational synergy. Among the dimensions of shared leadership perception, joint completion of tasks, decentralized interaction among employees and emotional support were found to have predictive of organizational synergy.

Araştırmada, okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarının örgütsel sinerji üzerindeki rolünün belirlenmesi amaçlanana araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelindedir.Araştırma evreni, 2023- 2024 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ilindeki Eyüp Sultan, Fatih, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bayrampaşa ve Beyoğlu ilçelerindeki ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan öğretmenlerden, örneklemi ise kolay ulaşılabilen 330 ortaöğretim öğretmenden oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri “Paylaşılan Liderlik Algısı Ölçeği” ve “Öğretmenlere Yönelik Örgütsel Sinerji Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarına ve örgütsel sinerji düzeyine ilişkin öğretmen algıları yüksek bulunmuştur. Okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarına ilişkin öğretmen algılarının, cinsiyet ve aynı okulda çalışma süresine göre anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin örgütsel sinerjiye ilişkin algı düzeylerinin ise, kıdem değişkenine göre anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamaları ve örgütsel sinerji düzeylerine yönelik öğretmen algıları diğer demografik değişkenlere göre, anlamlı farklılıklar göstermemektedir. Okullardaki paylaşılan liderlik uygulamaları ile öğretmenlerin örgütsel sinerji algıları arasında anlamlı, pozitif yönde ve yüksek düzeyde bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada okullarda paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarının örgütsel sinerjinin anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu sonucuna da ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin paylaşılan liderlik uygulamalarına yönelik görevlerin ortak tamamlanması, çalışanlar arasında merkezi olmayan etkileşim ve duygusal destek algıları, örgütsel sinerjiyi algılarını yordamaktadır
