KOMUNIKASI MODEL LASSWELL DAN STIMULUS-ORGANISM-RESPONSE DALAM MEWUJUDKAN PEMBELAJARAN MENYENANGKAN KELAS 3 SD
This research was conducted on the basis of problems in educational communication. The research subjects were 3rd grade elementary school students. The object of this research is the ability to communicate in creating fun learning by using the Lasswell and stimulus-organism-response (SOR) communication models. This study aims to determine the pattern of communication that is applied to grade 3 SD. The method used in this research is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that communication has an important role for the advancement of education. Re-proposing Cultural Based Curriculum System of Tamansiswa as the National Education Foundation in Indonesia
The problems faced by the Indonesia educational system should have been examined deeply as it seems difficult to apply an educational system that can be implemented effectively. This issue can be seen from the number of curriculum changes recently. Considering that problems, developing educational system based on its own nation culture will be considered to be more effective in order to build the characters of the students. By developing Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s idea with his system, the educational system in Indonesia will be more practical and suitable, since this idea has been admitted as modern thought or ideas which will give a lot of beneficial for the learners.
KAHOOT: A Game Based Platform for Learning Reading
This paper reviews Kahoot as a game based learning platform particularly in reading. It provides teachers an opportunity to create game or quizzes and take the scores simultaneously. Moreover, through Kahoot, the students can work hand in hand with their group and compete each other with another group. This situation will enhance their intention to learn and increase their achievement. This research revealed that using Kahoot could increase students reading comprehension.
Developing English Material Through Picture Slide for Teaching Writing of Vocational School
The purpose of developing English material through picture slide is to develop English material in the form of pictures slide show in order to improve the competence of students in writing descriptive text for ten graders of Vocational High School. The development of this learning material is based on Borg and Gall's Research Development (R & D) concept theory by following steps design of needs analysis, material development, expert validation, pilot and final product. The result of the development of this product is a picture slide material. It can be used and developed as a medium of teaching English for students in order to improve their writing skill and increase the student's motivation to learn. The development of teaching material is able to provide different way in English learning especially in teaching English of writing descriptive text. Students have motivation in learning descriptive text in this case is to write a text. Teaching material through picture slide can be developed again in accordance with the needs of students by practitioners and English teachers.
Students’ Ability in Writing Descriptive Text at Eighth Grade of SMP TD Pardede Foundation Medan
This research was aimed to know the eighth grade students of junior high school’s ability in writing descriptive text at SMP TD Pardede Foundation Medan. The design of the research was descriptive quantitative. The object of this research was the score of 23 students in their descriptive text assignment. The method that was used consists of writing assignments, collecting data, and analyzing the data by putting them in certain categories. The students were asked to write a descriptive text about someone or something that they like on a piece of paper with the requirement of three paragraphs in minimum. The technique that was used for analyzing the collected data was divided into four steps: reading the result of the students’ assignment, analyzing the aspects of the descriptive text, determining the score of each student, and making a conclusion based on the result of the data. The data was classified by calculating the average ability, forming categories of scores, and calculating the percentage of each category. The result of this study showed that the majority of students’ ability in writing descriptive text at the eighth grade of SMP TD Pardede Foundation Medan was average. From the total of 23 students that participated in the research, 2 students were classified into poor category, 13 students were classified to average category, and 8 students were classified to good category. Pengembangan Vlog Pembelajaran Matematika Dengan Konteks Zakat Mal Pada Materi Bentuk Aljabar
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan video vlog pembelajaran matematika dengan konteks zakat mal pada materi bentuk aljabar, serta menghasilkan media vlog pembelajaran yang dapat memiliki daya tarik terhadap penggunaan media dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap minat belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah design research tipe development study yang terdiri dari 2 tahapan yaitu tahap prelimenary dan tahap prototyping menggunakan alur formatif evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group dan field test). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket, wawancara dan hasil jawaban siswa. Subjek penelitian yakni siswa kelas VII.6 SMP Negeri 1 Lempuing Jaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sudah layak digunakan dan keterkaitan antar materi dengan konteks sudah sesuai berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan mempunyai daya tarik peserta didik terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran serta media pembelajaran mempunyai efek potensial terhadap minat belajar siswa berdasarkan uji N-gain angket pretest-posttest yang mendapatkan skor 0,649 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang
PENERAPAN DISCOVERY LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK PADA PEMBELAJARAN TRIGONOMETRI
Trigonometri adalah salah satu bidang ilmu dalam matematika yang cukup esensial dan memiliki keterkaitan erat dalam penerapan kehidupan sehari-hari. Akan tetapi, banyak peserta didik yang menyatakan bahwa trigonometri adalah salah satu topik matematika yang sulit untuk dipelajari dengan berbagai macam rumus fungsi abstrak dan tingkat kerumitan yang cukup tinggi. Dalam kebanyakan praktik pembelajaran trigonometri, peserta didik disajikan berbagai macam rumus final yang harus mereka hafal. Akibatnya, banyak peserta didik yang merasa kesulitan dalam memahami konsep materi trigonometri dan cenderung melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan terkait, yang kemudian berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran trigonometri melalui penerapan model pembelajaran diskoveri atau discovery learning model. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan selama dua siklus pembelajaran dengan 32 peserta didik kelas XI sebagai subjek penelitian. Peneliti menggunakan tes tulis sebagai teknik untuk mengumpulkan data hasil belajar peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran trigonometri mengalami peningkatan secara bertahap hingga mencapai persentase ketuntasan belajar sebesar 96,875%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran trigonometri
PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS SOSIOKULTURAL PADA TEMA LINGKUNGAN BERSIH SEHAT DAN ASRI DI SEKOLAH DASAR
Kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia perlu ditingkatkan seiring dengan berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Salah satu peningkatan ini dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Kegiatan pembelajaran yang berkualitas harus berpusat pada siswa sebagai subjek pembelajarannya. Guru sangat berperan untuk mengembangkan potensi, kreativitas, memotivasi siswa dalam membangun kemauan serta memberikan keteladanan. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan seorang guru dapat digunakan sebagai panduan dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga menjadi terarah  dengan kompetensi yang akan dicapai. Pembelajaran berbasis sosiokultural menekankan bahwa lingkungan sosial dapat membantu proses pembelajarannya. Masyarakat dan budaya merupakan sumber ilmu dalam penerapan teori ini. Interaksi sosial dari siswa baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat sangat penting guna membangun kerjasama sebagai suatu proses pengembangan diri.. Pembelajaran pada tema lingkungan bersih, sehat, dan asri tidak terlepas dari nilai-nilai sosiokultural dan lingkungannya. Dengan demikian proses pembelajarannya akan mengkonstruksi pengetahuan secara bersama-sama antara semua pihak yang terlibat di dalamnya
THE EMERGENCE OF MULTIPLE ENGLISHES TREND, DO WE NEED A STANDARD ENGLISH?
English has inevitably the global language that been used around the globe. According to Cristal there are approximately 1500 million people who use English from all sources; 750 million is first and second language speaker and the rest as foreign speaker. In the other word, there are one of the world population who are capable to use English. Interestingly, users of English as second and foreign language outnumbered the users of English as first language, which the ratio is 1:3 for native and non-native. Moreover, McArthur assumes that with the wide spread of new English trend, when they communicate together with their own New English, it will produce confusions and nonsenses among the speaker since they use unfamiliar English word in term of dialect and accents. To this purpose ministry of Singapore emphasizes the important of fostering standard English, not Singaporean English, especially in school to enable Singaporean communicate with people around the world. To sum up, standard English is now still urgent to be mastered since it is universally accepted for the world global communication
“Talk” an AI-Powered Speaking Partner Application
With the advancement of technology, there are currently numerous tools and applications that are designed to facilitate students in improving their English speaking skills (Chun et al., 2016). One of these tools is called TALK. TALK is an online platform which is designed to help users improve their spoken English skills. It utilizes advanced speech recognition technology to provide users with feedback on their pronunciation, intonation, and overall spoken language proficiency
