Problem solving ability is one of the important goals studied in the learning process. The large use of formulas and the lack of involvement of students in discovering mathematical concepts causes low mathematical problem solving abilities. For this reason, a learning pathway was designed to facilitate problem solving abilities with an appropriate and appropriate approach based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to produce Local Teaching Theory (LIT), especially social arithmetic topics that are valid, practical and effective. This development research uses the Plomp and Gravemeijer & Cobb combined design research model. The research subjects consisted of 3 class VII students (individual evaluation), 6 people (small group) and 32 people (large group) at a junior high school in Padang City. Research data was collected using observation sheets, expert validation sheets, questionnaires, and problem solving ability test questions. The results of the research show that the LIT topic of social arithmetic that was developed is valid from the didactic (presentation), material (content), linguistic and graphic (display) aspects. It is practical because the learning flow can be used by students in discovering their own mathematical concepts using the informal stage towards the formal with a feasibility test by students (small groups) 86.67% with the criteria "very practical" and students (large groups) 78.27% with the criteria "practical". Furthermore, it is said to be effective because it has a positive impact on mathematical problem solving abilities students and the test average was 79.11% with the criteria "successful" at the field test stage

Indonesia strongly opposed the Dutch plan, so there was great resistance from the Indonesian people and the Dutch began to carry out Military Aggression I and II in various regions, including Kerinci. In the Dutch Military Aggression in Kerinci,  lieutenan II Muradi became a very important figure because he led and organized the guerrilla war strategy against the Dutch. The main focus of this research is to look at the role of  lieutenant II Muradi and the war tactics used with his troops in the face of superior Dutch military strength. The method used in this paper is the historical method. The results show that  lieutenant II Muradi, who came from Koto Tuo Village, Kerinci Regency, completed his education at the SR CVO and the Vocational College in Bengkulu, then became a teacher in Bengkulu. During the Japanese occupation, he was appointed to the Gyugun, or Japanese auxiliary army, with the rank of Sergeant Major. In Dutch Military Aggression II, he led the war using guerrilla tactics, scorched earth tactics, and readiness detection against the Dutch. His contribution to the struggle in Kerinci is highly respected, as evidenced by the establishment of a monument to his struggle in Sungai Penuh City, Kerinci, and the naming of a protocol road in Kerinci Regency

PROPOSED INTEGRATED LISTENING AND SPEAKING SKILLS LEARNING ACTIVITIES USING PROJECT BASED LEARNING MODEL

    No full text
This study explores the development of project-based learning activities tailored for the integration of listening and speaking skills in an EFL context. Listening skills, in particular, present challenges for educators, who often struggle to modify traditional instructional methods. Conventional approaches to listening instruction, such as listening to audio and answering questions, tend to be monotonous, potentially diminishing student motivation, especially in English language learning. To address these issues and enhance student competence, integrating listening and speaking skills through a project-based learning (PBL) approach has been recommended (Loi & Hong, 2023a). The design of these activities and projects must be carefully crafted to ensure effective learning outcomes and improvement in both skill areas. This study adopts a literature review methodology to identify suitable forms of project-based learning activities for integrating listening and speaking skills. The data were gathered from existing studies and analyzed using data reduction techniques, focusing on key insights, which were then synthesized into a narrative that outlines a project-based learning plan. The results of the research provide a detailed series of integrated activities aimed at enhancing both listening and speaking skills, culminating in a final project involving the creation of a short video. The designed activities were found to significantly boost student motivation and participation throughout the learning process
