Examining the Impact of the Bubat War Event from the Perspective of Subjectivism in the Modern Era
This study aims to understand the dynamics of changes in Sundanese identity after the Bubat War, and how this event continues to influence their views on history and culture into the contemporary era. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a historical approach. The purpose of this method is to understand the historical context in a structured manner and its impact on certain events or phenomena. The results of this study indicate that the Bubat War had a significant impact on the identity and culture of the Sundanese and Javanese people. This history not only left disappointment, but also created perspectives and cultural attitudes that were passed down from generation to generation. However, the positive impact of this event strengthened the identity of each tribe as an independent and competitive group. In addition, it can be said that in this modern era, the negative impact of the Bubat War itself has begun to erode and fade

TECHNIQUES IN TEACHING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS HIGH SCHOOL GENZ STUDENTS: CHALLENGES AND COPING STRATEGIES
Teaching English-speaking skills requires the right effort so that students can play an active role in the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to identify the techniques used by teachers in teaching English speaking skills, the challenges faced by teachers in teaching English Speaking Skills, and the coping strategies employed to address the difficulties encountered by teachers. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to present data. The participants in this study were three teachers from a vocational high school in Sukoharjo who taught at different grade levels. Data were collected from observations of teaching and learning activities in the classroom and interviews with the three related teachers. After the data is collected, it will be analyzed by first simplifying the findings, grouping them, and concluding in the final stage. The results of the study showed that (1) Role-play, discussion, and presentation techniques are very effective in English language learning, (2) the challenges faced by teachers are students' lack of self-confidence, different student input, and differences in student interests, (3) the strategies used to deal with problems are forming small groups, level-based tasks, and linking speaking to interests. The results of this study aim to provide additional insights for teachers, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the learning process.
STUDENTS’ ERRORS IN TRANSLATING MATHEMATICAL REPRESENTATIONS FROM SYMBOLIC TO GRAPHICAL FORM IN QUADRATIC FUNCTIONS
Representation is an important element in mathematics learning that helps make abstract mathematical ideas more concrete. Changes between forms of representation, called translations of mathematical representations, are necessary in mathematics learning. However, students often struggle with this process, as evidenced by errors in problem-solving. These errors can be categorized into three types: interpretation errors, implementation errors, and preservation errors. Based on these facts, a solution is needed to overcome student errors. However, to formulate the right solution, an in-depth study is needed regarding student errors in translation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and describe junior high school students' errors, especially in translating representations from symbolic to graphical form in quadratic function material. The method used is descriptive qualitative, involving three class IX students with different mathematical abilities as research subjects. The results of this study showed that high-ability students made few interpretation, implementation, and preservation errors from the stage of unpacking the source to constructing the target. Moderate-ability students made some interpretation and implementation errors from the stage of unpacking the source to constructing the target. Meanwhile, low-ability students made many interpretation, implementation, and preservation errors from the stage of unpacking the source to determining equivalence. To overcome these errors, teachers can apply level 1 scaffolding (environmental provisions) and level 2 scaffolding (explaining, reviewing, and restructuring). In conclusion, students with different mathematical abilities each have difficulties in making translations. The factors causing these errors include inaccuracy, neglect of important aspects, inappropriate habits, and conceptual errors
