PENGARUH LKPD BERBASIS ETNOMATEMATIKA DENGAN PENDEKATAN REALISTIC MATEMATIC ADUCATION TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROBLEM SOLVING, SELF EFFICACY DAN COLLABORATION
Pada era abad 21 peserta didik harus dapat memilki kemampuan yang mampu mengasah diri nya sehingga dapat bersaing diera globalisasi. Salah satu kemampuan yang harus d miliki siswa adalah problem solving, self efficacy dan collaboration. Tujuan dari studi ini untuk mengetahui ada pengaruh lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis etnomatematika dengan pendekatan realistic mathematic education terhadap kemampuan problem solving, self efficacy dan collaboration. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen quasi dengan desain penelitian menggunakan One Group Pretes-Post -Test Design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu semester genap pada materi Lingkaran dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 siswa. Instrument jenis tes adalah tes kemampuan problem solving berupa pretest dan post test sedangkan instrument jenis non tes adalah angket self efficacy dan collaboration. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan problem solving, self efficacy serta collaboration siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran, 2) Pembelajaran matematika menggunakan LKPD berbasis etnomatematika.efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan problem solving, self efficacy serta collaboration siswa. In the era of the 21st century, students must be able to have skills that can hone themselves so they can compete in the era of globalization. One of the abilities that students must have is problem solving, self-efficacy and collaboration. The aim of this study is to determine the influence of ethnomathematics-based student worksheets with a realistic mathematical education approach on problem solving abilities, self-efficacy and collaboration. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a research design using One Group Pretest-Post-Test Design. This research was carried out in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Bengkulu City, even semester on Circle material with a sample size of 34 students. The test type instrument is a problem solving ability test in the form of a pretest and post test, while the non-test type instrument is a self-efficacy and collaboration questionnaire. The results of this research are 1) Learning using ethnomathematics-based LKPD shows that there are significant differences in students' problem solving abilities, self-efficacy and collaboration before and after learning, 2) Mathematics learning using ethnomathematics-based LKPD is effective in improving problem solving abilities and self-efficacy. as well as student collaboration
A Toponymic Approach to the Wetlands Local History in Sungai Tabuk Keramat Village
This research aims to uncover the toponymy of Laut and Pantai Rumbia in Sungai Tabuk Keramat village. Using a historical approach, this study explores how early communities interacted with their environment, understood the landscapes they inhabited, and reflected cultural values in place naming. The results indicate that the toponymy of Laut and Pantai Rumbia reflects the social and cognitive construction of space and environment by the community. The diversity of language dialects between the people of Sungai Tabuk Keramat and neighboring villages indicates differences in cultural and historical backgrounds that influence how they interact with the environment and name places. The toponymic analysis in Sungai Tabuk Keramat village contributes to a deeper understanding of local history, cultural landscape, and the social dynamics of Urang Banjar in general
Peran Dukungan Sosial dari Sudut Pandang Teman Sebaya terhadap Dewasa Awal yang Melakukan NSSI
This study aims to understand the role of social support provided by early adult individuals to peers who commit non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with two early adult participants who provide social support to friends who experience NSSI. The results showed that the social support provided included emotional, instrumental, informational, and social network dimensions, which were influenced by the quality of the relationship, motivation for providing support, and consistency in monitoring the friend's condition. This study provides important implications for the development of social and psychological interventions to support individuals with NSSI behaviors, although this study is limited to certain age groups and genders, so further research is needed to expand understanding
EXPLORING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CHATGPT AS A CONVERSATIONAL PARTNER ON EFL STUDENT’S SPEAKING SKILLS: A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL STUDY IN INDONESIA HIGHER EDUCATION
This study explores the effectiveness of ChatGPT in enhancing the speaking skills of EFL undergraduate students in the Hospital Administration program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, involving 42 first-semester students divided into two groups: 21 students in ARS 1 as the experimental group and 21 students in ARS 2 as the control group. The experimental group received treatment using specific prompts designed to initiate conversations with ChatGPT. Data were collected through oral tests conducted before and after the intervention (pre-test and post-test). The results indicate a statistically significant improvement in the speaking skills of students in the experimental group. Hypothesis testing showed a significant value of <0.000 for the first hypothesis and 0.004 for the second, both below the threshold of 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypotheses were accepted. In conclusion, the use of ChatGPT had a positive and significant effect on improving the speaking skills of EFL students in the Hospital Administration program. The results highlight the potential of ChatGPT to supplement classroom speaking activities, while contributing to research on AI in EFL learning
History of the Serang Regent’s Office its Role as the Center of Colonial Goverment in Serang Regency in 1829-1945
This research aims to determine the history of the Serang Regent's Office and its role as the Center of Colonial Government in Serang Regency in 1829-1945. The method used in this research is historical research methods assisted by the theory of cultural heritage, colonization and the emergence of colonial cities. The research results show that the Serang Regent's office was completed in 1826 and began to be actively used as the Serang Regent's office in 1829, a year after the government center moved from Kaibon to the Serang area. This development was motivated by the ineffectiveness of the central government in Kaibon and the lack of adequate government offices at that time. From the start, this building was designed as an office and official residence for the Serang regents who served and was used as the center of colonial government activities, as well as the center of community activities in various aspects of life, both religious life, social life and culture
The Role of Strength-based Parenting in Family Sex Communication
Strength-based parenting is a parenting style where parents focus on children's strengths and positive qualities. This approach is generally linked to better well-being and psychological states in adolescents. However, the impact of this parenting style on how families communicate about sex remains unclear. This is a crucial issue, considering that adolescents need sex education, and parents should play a key role in providing it. This study aimed to investigate the role of strength-based parenting dimensions (strength knowledge and strength use) on family sex communication. Participants were 253 senior high school students in Surabaya who completed the Strength-Based Parenting Scale and the Family Sex Communication Quotient questionnaires. Using multiple regression analysis, the result showed that strength-based parenting influenced family sex communication. Parental encouragement for adolescents to utilize their strengths (strength use) was a significant predictor of family sex communication. This indicates that parents’ positive encouragement motivates both children and parents to engage in discussions concerning sensitive topics such as sex. Future studies should consider the social and cultural values held by the family, parental understanding of sexual issues, and adolecents’ gender.
Konstruksi Urban Marital Satisfaction Scale (UMSS): Alat Ukur Kepuasan Pernikahan dengan Konteks Perkotaan Indonesia
The Urban Marital Satisfaction Scale (UMSS) was developed to measure marital satisfaction among couples living in urban areas by emphasizing financial and communication aspects that are often overlooked in previous instruments. This scale was constructed based on the theoretical framework of Spanier and Busby, which includes three key dimensions: dyadic consensus, dyadic cohesion, and dyadic satisfaction. A total of 52 initial items were developed and tested through readability trials, expert judgment, and item analysis. Based on empirical testing with married individuals aged 20 to 40 years, who had been married for at least two years, a total of 21 items were retained in the final version of the scale. The item selection process involved eliminating poorly performing items and revising ambiguous or culturally unfamiliar statements. Psychometric evaluations showed that the UMSS demonstrates strong internal consistency and good construct validity. The scale is also able to distinguish between individuals with high and low levels of marital satisfaction. These findings indicate that the UMSS is a reliable and valid measurement tool that can be used in psychological assessments and interventions targeting urban couples
Problem Based Learning (PBL) to Build Literacy Skills in Students at SMAN 2 Palembang
Literacy skills play an important role in students' learning success. These skills can support the competencies they have so that they can support each other if students can master literacy skills. Problem Based Learning (PBL) based learning is a learning model that can facilitate building literacy skills in students in Indonesian material during the reform era. The method used in this research was Class Action Research (PTK) or Action Research which was carried out in class XII IPA 5 SMA Negeri 2 Palembang with a total of 39 students. Research activities are carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. In quantitative data collection techniques with a qualitative approach. Based on the research results, the Problem Based Learning learning model can build literacy skills in students. This was proven in cycle I that literacy skills only got a percentage of 44%, while in cycle II it increased to 90%. The conclusion from this research is that the use of the Problem Based Learning model can build literacy skills in students
EFL STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF MALL IN FOSTERING VOCABULARY MASTERY: A MIXED METHODS APPROACH
Technology plays a crucial role in helping students enhance their vocabulary mastery. A lack of attention to proper vocabulary learning during the teaching and learning process can pose challenges. Numerous studies have explored EFL students' perceptions of vocabulary development through technology. However, limited research has examined the influence of gender on students’ attitudes in this context. Therefore, this study aims to investigate EFL students’ attitudes toward English vocabulary enhancement concerning gender differences. An explanatory mixed-methods approach was employed, incorporating Davis’ (1993) questionnaire on technology integration in language learning and interviews. Quantitative data were gathered from 72 students and analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Additionally, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten participants and examined using thematic analysis. The questionnaire findings indicated that students responded positively to the use and convenience of MALL, with no significant differences observed between male and female students. Moreover, interview results suggested that MALL facilitated vocabulary comprehension and mastery. These findings not only recommend the incorporation of more practical vocabulary learning media but also equip English lecturers with actionable insights to enhance student engagement in the learning process. This study also contributes to English pedagogy by emphasizing the importance of integrating technology into vocabulary learning
ENHANCING STUDENTS CRITICAL THINKING THROUGH PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING WITH CHATGPT AND GEOGEBRA
Critical thinking is increasingly important with the existence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) especially for college students. AI is not yet fully accurate in solving mathematical problems, so critical thinking helps students analyze and evaluate its answers. This study aims to enhance students’ critical thinking using PBL (Problem-Based Learning) with ChatGPT and GeoGebra. This quasi-experimental study with the pretest-post-test non-equivalent group design involved 47 subjects, 24 in the experimental group and 23 in the control group. The average pre-test and post-test of experimental (47.96 and 62.13) and control (55.48 and 54.26) groups were significantly different. The ANCOVA results showed that PBL with ChatGPT and GeoGebra significantly enhanced students’ critical thinking. Tukey’s test result showed that the difference between the experimental and control group was 14.88 which indicated that students’ critical thinking in the experimental group was higher than the control group. Furthermore, the treatment did not affect identify indicator, but had a positive effect on justify, inference, clarify, and strategy decision indicators. This demonstrates that PBL assisted by ChatGPT and GeoGebra enhances students’ critical thinking. The research has the potential to support lecturers in enhancing students’ critical thinking and improving innovative learning models where AI can be used in education with proper guidance and implications.Berpikir kritis semakin penting dengan adanya kecerdasan buatan (AI) khususnya bagi mahasiswa. AI belum sepenuhnya akurat dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, sehingga berpikir kritis membantu mahasiswa menganalisis dan mengevaluasi jawabannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan PBL berbantuan ChatGPT dan GeoGebra dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika pada semester 4. Sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dengan penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol secara acak. Penelitian kuasi-eksperimen ini dengan desain pretest-post-test non-equivalent group melibatkan 47 subjek, 24 pada kelompok eksperimen dan 23 pada kelompok kontrol. Rata-rata pre-test dan post-test kelompok eksperimen (47,96 dan 62,13) dan kontrol (55,48 dan 54,26) berbeda secara signifikan. Hasil ANCOVA menunjukkan bahwa PBL dengan ChatGPT dan GeoGebra secara signifikan meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hasil uji Tukey menunjukkan perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 14,88 yang mengindikasikan bahwa berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Selain itu, perlakuan tidak berpengaruh pada indikator identify, tetapi memberikan pengaruh positif pada indikator justify, inference, clarify, dan strategy decision. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa PBL yang dibantu oleh ChatGPT dan GeoGebra meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini berpotensi mendukung dosen dalam meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dan memperbaiki model pembelajaran inovatif di mana AI dapat digunakan dalam pendidikan dengan bimbingan dan implikasi yang tepat
