    Project-Based Learning with Group Presentations in Teaching the History of Science and Technology Development

    The utilization of web design-based ebooklets in the learning process is a strategic step as an innovative educational tool to improve students' learning experience. Web design-based ebooklets are easily accessible and cost-effective so that they are suitable for students to use in learning history, especially local contexts with a focus on the Major Hamid Rusi Monument. This research departs from the potential and problems encountered at SMKN 10 Malang which aims to examine the utilization of Web design-based ebooklets as local history teaching materials at SMKN 10 Malang, with a case study of the Major Hamid Rusdi Monument. The research uses a case study method and a qualitative approach that explores how the Ebooklet can help students foster historical awareness of the existence of monuments around the scope of the school and their place of residence. The results showed that the web design-based ebooklet was effective in increasing students' understanding of local history, especially recognizing the figure of Major Hamid Rusdi

    This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling with a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approach using behavioral activation techniques in improving learning motivation of Junior High School (SMP) students. The research design used was a pretest–posttest one group design with seven eighth grade students who had low learning motivation scores as participants. The intervention was carried out in four group counseling sessions that focused on behavioral activation, such as arranging meaningful activities, scheduling learning, and recording and self-reflection. The results of the analysis showed an increase in the average learning motivation score from 75.4 to 114.8 with a significance value of p = 0.005, which means that the change was statistically significant. These findings indicate that behavioral activation techniques in CBT group counseling are effective in encouraging changes in student learning behavior from passive to productive. This study provides an empirical contribution to the practice of school guidance and counseling services, as well as enriching evidence-based intervention approaches in improving learning motivation of junior high school students

    Public speaking anxiety is a psychological phenomenon commonly experienced by university students, particularly in online learning contexts. With the advancement of digital technology, one alternative strategy to address online public speaking anxiety is the use of avatars in virtual meetings, especially on platforms such as Zoom. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of avatar utilization in reducing online public speaking anxiety among university students. A true experimental method was employed using an alternative-treatment design. The participants consisted of 15 female undergraduate students from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Makassar, class of 2023. Participants were randomly assigned into three experimental groups based on avatar representation: Actual Self, Other Self, and Ideal Self. Hypothesis testing was conducted using a t-test with a significance level of 0.05, analyzed with SPSS version 24.0 for Windows. The results indicated a significant reduction in public speaking anxiety in the Actual Self group, with a significance value of 0.01 (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the use of avatars representing the actual self is effective in reducing online public speaking anxiety among psychology students. The study provides practical implications for students experiencing anxiety during online public speaking by highlighting avatar features as a potential coping strategy. Additionally, this research offers insights for educators and counselors in utilizing avatar-based approaches tailored to students’ characteristics, particularly in virtual meeting environments under specific conditions

    The Content of Educational Values in the Wuku Galungan Tradition in Wonomulyo, Magetan, East Java

    Wonomulyo is known as a tourist village of the land above the clouds. The people of Wonomulyo manage their lives based on ancestral heritage values, with the concept of harmony based on the local wisdom of the Wuku Galungan tradition, a tradition to commemorate the death of Ki Hajar Wonokoso. This research reveals the historical background, procession, and content of educational values of the Wuku Galungan tradition in facing various challenges. The data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis using ethnography. The data were then analyzed through the interactive analysis model to interpret the phenomenon. The results show that 1) the historical background of the Wuku Galungan tradition came from the legend of Ki Hajar Wonokoso, who died on the Tuesday Wage Wuku Galungan; 2) the Wuku Galungan tradition was executed in the area of Ki Hajar's tomb on the Tuesday Wage with a kind of thanksgiving and visiting processions; 3) the Wuku Galungan tradition had religious values which is reflected in the belief that there is a great power outside humans in obtaining blessings from God, tolerance, love for the environment and other living creatures; mutual cooperation reflected in the sambatan (splice) tradition; as well as nature and cultural conservation reflected in the harmony concept of the people of Wonomulyo in facing various challenges

The results obtained from this research will focus on several key issues; 1) the transformation of the youth's role in the development of Kampung Batik Laweyan in the era of globalization; 2) the role of the younger generation in the development of Kampung Batik Laweyan; and 3) the youth development system in Kampung Batik Laweyan. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection processes include observation, interviews, and literature review. After obtaining the data, the research involves data reduction, data presentation, verification, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research contribute to understanding the social transformation occurring in the younger generation in Laweyan concerning the development of Kampung Batik Laweyan

    ETHNOMATHEMATICS OF JAVANESE CULTURE IN THE INQUIRY LEARNING MODEL

    The research aims to develop an inquiry learning model based on Javanese cultural ethnomathematics. This research uses research and development methods with the Plomp educational development model. Research stages include:1) preliminary research, 2) development or prototyping phase, and 3) assessment phase. In this research, the development stage was carried out at the initial investigation stage and the design stage which included field observations, literature studies, focus group discussion, preparation of learning models and learning tools and continued with small-scale trials. Field observations were carried out through observing cultural sites and junior high schools at three provinces in Indonesia, Yogyakarta province, West Java province, and East Java province. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation and questionnaires. The data obtained was analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The development results at the initial investigation stage generated a preliminary syntax for the inquiry learning model. The subsequent design stage produced a complete mathematics learning model based on Javanese cultural ethnomathematics, documented in a comprehensive book accompanied by learning tools. Trial results indicated that the developed inquiry learning model meets valid criteria and is suitable for classroom implementation. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to integrating local cultural knowledge into mathematics instruction through an inquiry-based pedagogical approach. By embedding Javanese ethnomathematical concepts into structured inquiry learning, this study provides an innovative model that supports contextualized learning and aligns with national curriculum demands for culturally relevant pedagogy. Furthermore, the model offers a practical framework for teachers to develop meaningful learning experiences that bridge formal mathematics with students’ cultural environments

    PENGEMBANGAN LKPD BERBASIS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) PADA MATERI STATISTIKA KELAS X SMA

    Peserta didik selama ini menggunakan LKPD yang masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam aspek desain dan tampilan. LKPD tersebut hanya disajikan dalam format hitam putih sehingga kurang menarik secara visual. Selain itu, LKPD tersebut cenderung digunakan secara dominan sebagai satu-satunya bahan ajar, sehingga belum mampu mendukung variasi sumber belajar yang lebih kaya pada pelaksaan pembelajaran. Studi ini difokuskan mengembangkan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning pada materi Statistika yang layak digunakan, ditunjukkan melalui tingkat kevalidan dan kepraktisannya, serta memiliki tampilan yang menarik dan berwarna. Riset ini mengadopsi model 4D: mendefinisikan, merancang, mengembangkan, dan menyebarkan. Penelitian ini melibatkan ahli materi, ahli desain, ahli bahasa, serta guru mata pelajaran matematika, serta 9 peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Rejang Lebong. Temuan riset mengindikasihkan capaian indeks validitas sebesar dapat dilihat dari aspek kevalidan bahasa (0,94), media (0,85) dan materi (0,92), Berdasarkan angka tersebut, kualitas media pembelajaran dinyatakan memenuhi kriteria Sangat Valid. Secara praktikalitas, produk ini mencatatkan skor 97,1% sehingga dinyatakan masuk dalam kategori Sangat Praktis. LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning pada materi Statistika yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran

    DAMPAK PENDEKATAN RME DENGAN KONTEKS BUDAYA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS DAN SELF EFFICACY SISWA

    Keterbatasan kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis serta keyakinan diri (self efficacy) siswa yang terungkap melalui hasil penilaian PISA dan dari penelitian terdahulu menjadi latar belakang pentingnya penerapan pembelajaran yang bersifat nyata salah satunya melalui pendekatan RME dengan penekanan pada konteks budaya Melayu Riau. Tujuan dari studi ini guna mengkaji pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) dengan basis konteks budaya Riau pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis serta self efficacy siswa baik yang umum atau berdasar kemampuan awal matematis (KAM). Semua siswa SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai menjadi populasi dan sampel penelitian berupa siswa kelas IX di SMPN 25 Pekanbaru ditentukan lewat teknik purposive sampling. Adapun tes serta angket diterapkan sebagai instrumen dalam mengumpulkan data studi. Uji T, ANOVA satu jalur, dan ANOVA dua jalur dipakai guna menganalisis perolehan data rerata kemampuan pemecahan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang menerima pembelajaran dengan pendekatan RME berbasis konteks budaya Melayu Riau dan siswa yang menjalani pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil studi memperlihatkan adanya kemampuan dalam memecahkan masalah matematis yang berbeda antara siswa yang memperoleh pendekatan pembelajaran RME berbasis konteks budaya Melayu Riau dan siswa yang menjalani pembelajaran konvensional. Peningkatan self efficacy pada siswa yang mengikuti RME berbasis konteks budaya Melayu Riau menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dibandingkan siswa pembelajaran konvensional, baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan KAM dan self efficacy siswa terlihat pada kelompok RME berbasis konteks budaya Melayu Riau dibanding pembelajaran konvensional.The constraints in students’ mathematical problem-solving proficiency and self-efficacy, as unveiled through PISA assessments and antecedent studies, constitute the rationale for the implementation of authentic learning, notably via the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach with emphasis on the Malay Riau cultural context. This study aims to investigate the impact of the RME approach grounded in the Riau cultural context on students’ mathematical problem-solving capacities and self-efficacy, both in general and according to initial mathematical ability (KAM). The entire population of public junior high school students in the Marpoyan Damai District was considered, while the study sample consisted of ninth-grade students at SMPN 25 Pekanbaru, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Tests and questionnaires were employed as instruments for data acquisition. T-tests, one-way ANOVA, and two-way ANOVA were utilized to examine the mean differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between students exposed to RME-based instruction grounded in the Malay Riau cultural context and those who underwent conventional learning. The study outcomes revealed distinct capacities in mathematical problem-solving between students who experienced RME-based instruction within the Malay Riau cultural context and those who underwent conventional teaching. The enhancement of self-efficacy among students exposed to RME grounded in the Malay Riau cultural context demonstrated a significant divergence compared to those in conventional learning, both overall and according to KAM, with self-efficacy levels particularly pronounced in the RME-based cohort relative to the conventional instruction group

    PENGEMBANGAN MODUL AJAR MATEMATIKA BERDIFERENSIASI BERORIENTASI PENDIDIKAN KECAKAPAN HIDUP BAGI SISWA SMA

    Kurangnya modul pembelajaran yang menyesuaikan kebutuhan individual siswa dan minimnya integrasi pendidikan kecakapan hidup dalam pembelajaran matematika menjadi tantangan dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan modul ajar matematika dengan pendekatan diferensiasi dan berorientasi pada pendidikan kecakapan hidup untuk siswa SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. Modul ini dirancang untuk menyesuaikan kebutuhan pembelajaran individual dan meningkatkan keterampilan praktis yang relevan dengan kehidupan siswa, mengikuti model DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul ajar matematika yang berfokus pada materi barisan dan deret efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa serta mempersiapkan mereka dengan keterampilan penting untuk kehidupan dan karier. Validasi dari tiga pakar memberikan penilaian sangat baik dengan skor keseluruhan 85,67%, mencakup aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, bahasa, metode, dan kegrafikan. Analisis pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan banyak siswa yang awalnya berada dalam kategori Kurang dan Cukup naik ke kategori Baik dan Sangat Baik. Dua siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dari kategori Kurang ke Cukup atau Baik, menegaskan efektivitas materi yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa. Hasil analisis uji t menunjukkan nilai pre-test memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil post-test, dengan setiap peningkatan satu unit pada nilai pre-test berkontribusi pada peningkatan sebesar 0,555 unit pada nilai post-test. Pendekatan pengajaran yang fleksibel dan relevan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa, serta mempersiapkan mereka untuk tantangan masa depan. The lack of instructional modules that address individual student needs and the limited integration of life skills education into mathematics instruction pose significant challenges in high school learning processes. This study aims to develop and implement a mathematics teaching module using a differentiated approach oriented toward life skills education for students at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. The module is designed to accommodate individual learning needs and enhance practical skills relevant to students' lives, following the DDD-E model (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). The research findings indicate that the use of a mathematics teaching module focused on arithmetic and geometric sequences is effective in improving students’ mathematical understanding while equipping them with essential skills for life and career readiness. Validation by three experts resulted in an excellent rating, with an overall score of 85.67%, covering aspects such as content feasibility, presentation, language, methodology, and visual design. Pre-test and post-test analyses showed significant improvement, with many students initially categorized as Poor and Fair advancing to Good and Excellent categories. Two students demonstrated progress from the Poor to Fair or Good categories, affirming the effectiveness of materials tailored to students' needs. The t-test analysis revealed that pre-test scores significantly influenced post-test outcomes, with each one-unit increase in the pre-test score contributing to a 0.555-unit increase in the post-test score. This flexible and relevant teaching approach effectively enhances the quality of learning and student achievement, while preparing them for future challenges

    Female workers at BNN Aceh face significant challenges in balancing work with household responsibilities, as well as dealing with high work pressure and male dominance in leadership positions. This research aims to analyze the influence of quality of work life on work engagement among women at BNN Aceh, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The research uses a quantitative method with a positivist approach, collecting data through research instruments and analyzing it statistically to test the hypothesis. Data analysis is performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0 to examine the influence of independent, mediating, and dependent variables. The results show that quality of work life (QWL) does not directly affect work engagement. However, QWL significantly influences job satisfaction. Additionally, job satisfaction affects work engagement and acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between QWL and work engagement. These findings suggest that improving job satisfaction can be an effective way to enhance work engagement among female career workers at BNN Aceh
