A Resource Guide to Empower Area Coordinators in the Residence Life Field
This project was created to prepare materials and resources for a better foundation for a newly recruited Area Coordinator. Being in an administrative role, it can be massively helpful to have guiding examples and mentor texts to help curate the best possible work from an Area Coordinator’s staff of Resident Advisors. Developing documents for reference could be vital to effectively fostering a supportive and well-organized residential community. This is done by focusing on aspects of the role, such as a lesson plan for community meetings, guidelines for organizing staff training sessions or bonding activities, a template for an active event proposal that would be utilized by RAs, as well as possible methods of assessing and providing feedback to staff members. The project also observed and assessed different software for functions such as file sharing and group-based communication to see which applications would be best suited for a tight-knit community of higher education administrative staff
Credit Unions & Interest Rate Risk: A Pre- and Post-Monetary Tightening Analysis
This paper examines how credit unions adjusted their interest rate risk exposure in response to the Federal Reserve’s most recent monetary tightening cycle. Using quarterly data from Q4 2021 and Q4 2024, the study focuses on changes in Net Interest Income per member as a measure of financial performance. Two regression models were developed—one using 2021 financial characteristics as predictors and another using a complete set of pre- and post-tightening variables to explain the change in income. The analysis identifies key institutional and economic factors that influenced how credit unions navigated rising interest rates, offering insight into their risk management behavior and overall performance during significant financial adjustments
