Automated Guided Vehicles Navigating Problem In Container Terminal
The object of the paper is navigating of the automated guided vehicles (AGV) problems. The special authors attention were focused on the solutions dedicated for the container terminals. The paper is focused on the UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) localization problem, trajectories planning, work space mapping and AGV control problem. Described methods and tools for control problems are connected with chosen artificial intelligence solutions dedicated for autonomous vehicles working in container terminal

Analysis of the Relation between Serious Incident and Accident in Air Traffic
International aviation organizations require Poland to define the so-called acceptable level of safety for traffic accidents. To calculate this, one requires statistical data on accidents. These, however, in recent years did not occur, or the size of the sample is insufficient. In the paper a method for predicting the number of accidents on the basis of information on air incidents is mentioned. This method can be efficient and effective if any regular relation between the air traffic accident and serious incident exists. In the paper a way to find this relation is proposed, by analyzing the relevant simulation models of serious incidents and accidents. For this purpose Petri nets were used
Inland Water Transport as a Factor Influencing Mega-Ports and Seaport Cities Development (from the European North Sea Perspective)
Inland water transport has played a significant role in the development of port cities and seaports all over the world for ages. As a dominant mode of inland transport until the rail and road have begun to prevail in the European transport systems, it has at first created and then shaped seaport hinterland in the majority of the European ports. However, its impact on these organisms, i.e. seaports and port cities has changed in many European countries in recent decades, due to the fact that it was getting weaker (logistics time constraints) and less competitive on the transport market. Consequently, in many European countries it has lost its impact on seaports hinterland and has been replaced by other less environmentally friendly modes of transport. This tendency is, however, not observed in the North Sea mega-ports as well as in many world biggest ports in Asia and North America, where inland shipping still maintains significant share in the port total turnover modal split. The reasons for such situation are analyzed in this article
An OWAS-based Analysis of Storekeeper Workloads
Since 1950s' attention has been paid in enterprises to customize complex technical structures to meet worker's needs. However, work creates negative for worker's health static posture which adversely affects worker's workload. The following research paper introduces certain problematic aspects of static load risk management of staff employed. The issue in question is quite relevant in warehouse labour ergonomics as well as effective organization and handling of tasks. The paper discusses OWAS method as a means to evaluate worker's workload. It also presents the employment of the method to analyse storehouse workload

The PAFLS and the Polish Military Contingent's organizational and technical structure is still (notwithstanding the numerous efforts that were made) the vast optimizing space which can be filled when the possibilities created by civil logistics experience are taken into account

At present only a few European countries use such transport, despite the fact that the costs incurred of this form of freight traffic are much lower than those of standard road transport. Simulation Study on Stiffness of Suspension Seat in the Aspect of the Vibration Assessment Affecting a Vehicle Driver
This paper presents an original approach to the problem of the optimal stiffness evaluation in a suspension of driver seat for the best reduction of human vibration (whole-body vibration). The basic idea is to take into consideration the individual personal features (biomechanical parameters) of a human being in the process of vibrations assessment. In this article the author presents a complete system to the influence analysis of suspension stiffness on driver vibrations. It consists of the following subsystems: biomechanical model of human representing a specific driver, model of seat with suspension and adjustable spring, model of vehicle, subsystem of road excitation and module for signals processing. The actual research has focused on numerical simulations in the environment Matlab-Simulink-SimMechanics
Assessment of Drivers’ Reaction Times. Tests on the Track and in the Driving Simulator
This paper describes research studies analyzing the behaviour of drivers in the simulated accident risk situation. The study was conducted in two environments: on the Kielce Car Test Track and in the driving simulator autoPW of Warsaw University of Technology. The same 3 (different) situational scenarios of accidents were performed in both environments and the same group of 100 drivers was examined. Each of the examined persons performed the same set of tests, randomly ordered, carried out for various values of the time TTC (time to collision), received as combinations of the tested vehicle velocity and its distance from the roadblock. The vehicle speed was changed within the range from 36 up to 60 km/h, and the distance of the vehicle from the first roadblock from 5 up to 50 m.
