The Research of the Quality of Passenger Transport Services on a Selected Regional Route

    Get PDF
A shrinking market of regional passenger transport results in the fact that transport companies providing services on these routes are forced to fiercely compete with one another for their customers. As a result not only economic reasons become essential but the quality of services provided as well. Following an increased number of research on customers’ preferences a question arises: what kind of knowledge should the analysts possess while preparing information referring to the measurements carried out. The authors, using the example of a selected regional route prove that the conclusions referring to the quality of services provided should be complemented by a deepened analysis of objective factors connected with the characteristics of a selected route. Only then the managerial decisions which are made will be based on comprehensive market information

The clustering process is innovation for the polish market. The process concern various market sectors. The logistic clusters and logistic of clusters give minimilization of expenses and quick turn of expenditure. The cluster is form of network and his efficacy is very important for logistic. The logistic network give new possibility for cluster and cluster give new possibility for network logistic, too. The efficacy is necessary for various level logistic process. Material fatigue of parts of different technical systems belongs to the most frequent causes of boundary states rise and relating operation breakdowns. The objective of the article is general formulation of reliability of technical systems judging, brief characteristic of basic areas to be taken into account as input into calculated prediction of technical systems fatigue life and analysis of risk items by its practical application. An extraordinary attention is dedicated to the evaluation of fatigue life of structures parts of different technical systems and means in objects of critical infrastructure all over the world because breakdowns caused by a fatigue failure have often a nature of catastrophe

The Model of Reverse Logistics, Based on Reliability Theory, with Elements' Rejuvenation

    Get PDF
Reverse logistics understood as the process of managing reverse flow of materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information has become one of the logisticians’ key areas of interest. Nowadays a growing number of companies realize the meaning of that field of logistics. Reuse of products can bring direct advantages because company uses recovered components instead of expensive new ones. On the base of literature overview the aims of the paper were established. It proposes the model that uses the reliability theory to optimize recovery policy parameters. The criterion of the policy parameters optimization is the total cost of the production, recovery and services during warranty period. Presented model is a development of existing approaches because it widely analyses the aspect of returns condition in the recovery policy optimization

The Effect of Sales Planning Practices on Manufacturing Strategy. An International Comparative Study.

    Get PDF
Proper competitive strategy is the means of survival and development for manufacturing companies. In this vein, the producers should perceive a manufacturing strategy as the issue of crucial importance for their market position. It describes the use of manufacturing as a competitive weapon, as opposed to a function that is passive with respect to its competitive environment. Manufacturing companies differ in the way they meet the demand for their products. Some deliver products to their clients from finished goods inventories as their production anticipates customers' orders; others, however, manufacture only in response to customers' orders. In this connection the emphasis of manufacturing strategies is now more to competition in terms of time and customization. Time competition requires an emphasis on time which should not be wasted and is supported by fewer and faster activities being performed. On the other hand, customization means performing some activities according to the unique requirements of an individual customer. Competition in terms of time and customization is reflected in one of the most popular classification of manufacturing strategy, namely: make-to-stock (MTO), assembly-to-order (ATO), make-to-order (MTO) and engineer-to-order (ETO). The application of the strategy may determine the extent the producers use forecasting techniques, combine environmental and market data into forecasting process and prepare forecasts for specific purposes. The goal of the paper is to make a cross-national comparison of the effect of forecasting practices on different types of manufacturing strategies applied in 343 producers from Europe, Asia and Africa. In order to achieve an empirical aim a necessary methodology and statistical analyses have been employed. In the result of the analysis multiple regression models have been developed for specific manufacturing strategies of producers from different countries worldwide. It enabled to make cross-national comparisons of the contribution to variance in manufacturing strategy
