Full text linkopenLa Fondazione Alberto Peruzzo è un'istituzione no-profit istituita nel 2015, grazie alla volontà dell'imprenditore Alberto Peruzzo, con il fine di favorire la diffusione dell'arte contemporanea nel territorio di Padova e il recupero del patrimonio artistico della città. Infatti, grazie all’ideazione di un progetto di recupero architettonico, la chiesa di Sant’Agnese a Padova in disuso da tempo, ma con un valore fortemente simbolico per la città, è diventata sede della Fondazione e spazio espositivo. La Fondazione Peruzzo ospita spesso mostre e allestimenti d’arte, infatti, nel novembre dello scorso anno ha ospitato due mostre particolarmente interessanti che sono oggetto di questa tesi: una intitolata “Uno scenario mentale” di Ester Stocker, situata nello spazio che precedentemente era la navata della chiesa, e una seconda dal titolo “Orditi della razionalità”, che è stata allestita in quella che era la sacrestia. Le opere esposte di artisti italiani ed internazionali, brevemente presentati in questa tesi, provengono dal Museo Umbro Apollonio di San Martino di Lupari, che custodisce oltre un centinaio di opere di artisti di fama internazionale, dedicato al critico d’arte Umbro Apollonio e dal Fondo Verica 8+1 di Mestre, una raccolta di circa quattrocento opere di arti figurative, che comprendono oggettistica di arte contemporanea, pittura e scultura e che risultano estremamente importanti e rappresentative della sperimentazione artistica veneziana. Fattore comune a tutti gli artisti descritti nella tesi è l’adesione all’Optical Art, la corrente d’arte astratta nata intorno al 1960, che utilizza forme geometriche per creare illusioni ottiche e l’impressione plastica del movimento, grazie alle quali il coinvolgimento nell’opera d’arte da parte dell’osservatore è fortemente stimolata
Diagnóstico quanto à segurança do trabalho na execução de fundações

Engenharia Civil.O objetivo do presente trabalho de conclusão de curso é verificar a condição de segurança dos trabalhadores, bem como gerar diretrizes para o aprimoramento dos aspectos ligados à segurança do trabalho em obras na fase de fundação. Para tanto, foi feito o estudo de doze casos, nos quais foram aplicadas entrevistas e check lists a fim de aferir a segurança dos trabalhadores, o canteiro de obra e as condições de trabalho. Foram então apresentados resultados pertinentes aos aspectos de segurança do trabalho nos serviços de atirantamento e fundação. Em seguida buscou-se apontar melhorias que podem ser implantadas para a minimização dos riscos, com enfoque para os pontos críticos na execução de tirantes e fundação quanto à segurança do trabalho. Pode-se mencionar como mais frequentes: a falta de estrutura física acordada com a NR18, algumas falhas por parte dos próprios trabalhadores e ainda problemas com relação aos parâmetros técnicos no que se refere a equipamentos e treinamento dos profissionais. São indicadas algumas medidas preventivas e corretivas para solução dos mesmos, observando que são medidas de fácil aplicação, em sua grande maioria. Para tanto é necessário que haja maior interesse pelo tema, por parte dos responsáveis legais. O presente trabalho contribui com as iniciativas de investigações quanto à segurança do trabalho por parte de empresas de fundações, já que identifica os principais problemas encontrados na execução de tirantes, estacas de concreto pré-moldadas, estacas raiz e estacas do tipo hélice contínua
European English and the challenges faced by the interdisciplinary team involved in the translation of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure
No full textThe English translation of the Italian Code of Criminal Procedure (Gialuz, Lupária, and Scarpa 2014) represents a step forward in fostering judicial and police cooperation in Europe. This is made possible by making the content of the Code accessible to a wide English-speaking audience. Given the informative purpose of the translation (Cao 2007), whose intended readers are mainly European citizens, the target language chosen by the translation team is European English, i.e. the English used in European Union texts, the international English used in the Council of Europe texts, the English found in the translations of the Codes of Criminal Procedure of other European countries and the English used by law scholars (Scarpa, Peruzzo, and Pontrandolfo 2014).
The European continent is a multidimensional and multilayered legal reality in which different languages co-exist and legal transplants and terminological transfers are commonplace. Based on such premises, however, the embeddedness of the Code of Criminal Procedure in the Italian legal system poses several translation difficulties, especially in the search for supranational/international English translation equivalents for terms that refer to nationally developed legal concepts. For these terms, established translation equivalents are not necessarily available. The aims of this paper are threefold: to describe the features of the interdisciplinary translation team consisting of ten members (linguists and lawyers), to lay out the peculiarities of the translation process in which professionals with a different background were involved, and to illustrate the methodology applied as regards terminological choices. To do so, a concrete example from the translated text will be provided to lay out the challenges faced by and solution adopted by the translation team
Diffusion in floating particles in flow through emergent vegetation: Further experimental investigations
No full textIn this paper we present the results of a new laboratory
investigation aimed at providing a better understanding of the
transport and diffusion processes of floating particles (e.g.,
buoyant seeds) in open channel flow with emergent vegetation. The
experiments are designed primarily to study the influence of
vegetation density and flow velocity on the relevant interaction
mechanisms between particles and vegetation. The aim is also to
ascertain the validity of a stochastic model recently proposed by Defina and Peruzzo [2010].
We find that i) the proper definition of plant spacing is given
as 1/np dp, dp being the plant diameter, np the number
of plants per unit area; ii) the particle retention time
distribution can be satisfactorily approximated by a weighted
combination of two exponential distributions; iii) flow velocity
has a significant influence on the retention time and on the
efficiency of the different trapping mechanisms, and iv)
vegetation pattern and density have a minor influence on the
probability of capture and on the retention time of particles}.
Indeed, the comparison between model predictions and experimental
results is satisfactory and suggests that the observed relevant
aspects of the particle-vegetation interaction processes are
properly described by the model
