Target of this research is to describe and explain: ( 1) structure of social
culture society in novel of Hubbu written by Mashuri, ( 2) form assess and social
culture of syncretism, ( 3) reader reception.
Form of this research is descriptive qualitative with circular method of
hermeneutic. Source of this research data is novel of Hubbu written by Mashuri,
writer’s biography, comments of readers, and dialogue with writer, and article,
newspaper, internet as supporter of problems of research. Technique analyzes of this
research uses sampling purposive. The Data research validity uses method of
triangulation theory. Technique analyze data used is model of interactive dialectic.
Research procedure which is researcher done pass through three steps, they are: (1)
phase of exploration to obtain general view, ( 2) phase of exploration focus, ( 3)
checking phase and authenticity of data.
Based on data analysis pass through study of social culture, can be concluded:
( 1) Background of social culture novel of Hubbu included creative process of author,
background of social culture society ( social faction of Java society, artistic of Java
culture, usage of Ianguage in society, society consanguinity, endowment of
leadership, forwarding of criticism), figure as materialization of Java society
buttonhole; ( 2) form assess and social culture of syncretism covering: ( a) religion
value: form assess of belief in one God, form assess of belief in God, especial value
form, form assess of kewaskitaan; ( b) assess of Java philosophy: form assess of
settled condition, form assess of certainty, form assess of kejatmikaan, form assess of
reconciliation, honorary value form; ( c) ethical of Javanese value: wise value form,
precise value form of promise, form assess of congeniality, form asses of humbleness,

The Sequences of Events in ”The Jakarta Post” Headline News on The Fuel Price Increasing Issue
No full textThe objective of research is to find out how the sequences of events are realized on the headline news on the fuel price increasing issue which was written in the Jakarta Post, published in April 2012. The writer unfolds the sequences of events of the text through the figure of doing, figure of saying, figure of sensing and figure of being.
The design of this research is text analysis by using systemic functional linguistic method (SFL). The data sources of this research are the headline news on the fuel price-increasing issue, written during April 2012. The data of this research is the sequences of events of the head line news on the fuel price-increasing issue, written in ‘the Jakarta Post’ during April 2012. The text is analyzed to know how the sequences of events of the text are realized through the figure of saying, figure of doing, figure of sensing, and figure of being.
Based on analyzing the data, the result of the research shows that the sequences of events of the Jakarta Post Headline News on fuel price-increasing issue in April 2012 are specifically concerned in the process, which is the core of elements (participants, process, and circumstances). It is realized in 228 figures of doing, 48 figures of saying, 33 figures of sensing, and 30 figure of being. The author mostly used figures of doing to realize the events based on the analysis.
Therefore, I suggest that the English learners can study more about Systemic Functional Linguistic (FSL). In addition, the lecturer of English Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Muria Kudus University should give more knowledge to their student about ideational meaning
CORRELATION BETWEEN VOCABULARY MASTERY AND READING COMPREHENSION
No full textThe purpose of this research is to find out if there is any significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 32 Sigi. A correlational research design was used in this research and applied quantitative approach. The researchers used a simple random sampling technique to choose the sample. 36 students were chosen as the sample in this research. The researchers collected data using tests as the primary instrument, which included a vocabulary and reading test. The average score of the vocabulary test was 85 and the reading comprehension test was 80. It revealed that two variables have positive relationship. The Pearson Product Moment result of both tests' data analysis was 0.539. The category was moderate. The value of rtable was 0.329 when the degree of freedom (df) was 36 and the level of significance was 0.05. According to the data, rxy is higher than rtable. It can be concluded that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This indicates that there is a positive and significant correlation between the vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 32 Sigi

This paper, entitled "Hadiths about Asmaun al-Prophet Muhammad SAW, (an analysis based on the criticism of the eyes), discusses the subject matter, namely how the quality of the traditions about Asmaun al-Prophet Muhammad Saw. In the research of hadith, the writer uses the maudhu'i method. In general, this research aims to collect the rules of internal criticism of hadith (naqd dakhiily / naqd batiiny) with the subject of hadiths. Applied criticism is expressed starting from the aspect of standardization (ratio) of hadithic information, testing the validity of texts and testing the multiplicity of doctrinal substances for the purposes of formulating shari'iyyah evidence. The author takes one path from the history of Imam At-Tirmidhi to be examined and finally it can be concluded that there are no things that can damage the credibility of sanad and hadith observations. So it can be stated that the hadith is of authentic quality. That means that its accuracy and status can be justified
Pemanfaatan Retorika Dalam Film Kehormatan di Balik Kerudung Karya Tya Subiakto Satrio

Tujuan penelitian ini ingin memperoleh deskripsi yang objektif tentang retorika apa saja yang terdapat pada film kehormatan di balik kerudung karya Tya Subiakto satrio Penerbitkan PT. Kharisma Starvision Plus. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif sebab data yang diteliti berupa film yang ditranskrip menjadi teks, Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi yaitu berupa pengamatan langsung kepada suatu objek yang akan diteliti, Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ada tiga tahapan, (1) identifikasi dan klasifikasi data, (2) analisis data, dan (3) deskripsi kualitatif. Dari analisis data yang dilakukan pada jurnal ini ditemukan retorika yang terdapat dalam film kehormatan di balik kerudung meliputi: (1) bahasa, berupa menata materi bahasa (2) pemilihan topik tutur berupa ungkapan diri tokoh, dengan memberi sebuah topik yang diangkatnya, (3) pemilihan tindak tutur berupa tindak tutur dalam tokoh-tokoh yang digunakan agar penonton bisa menikmati ceritanya yang terdapat komponen dasar, yaitu: Tindakan, sehingga dasar ini lebih banyak digunakan pengarang dalam film kehormatan di balik kerudung tersebut.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to obtain an objective description of any rhetoric contained in the Tya Subiakto Satrio’s film “Kehormatan di Balik Kerudung†by published by PT. Kharisma Starvision Plus. This type of research was qualitative research because the data examined in the form of film was transcribed into text. The method used in this study was the method of observation that was a direct observation to an object to be researched. Data collection of this study used documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used of this research was three stages; (1) data identification and classification, (2) data analysis, and (3) qualitative description. From the data analysis done in the jurnal , the rhetoric found in the film “Kehormatan di Balik Kerudung†includes: (1) the language, which is organizing language materials (2) selection of topics in the form of characters’ self-expression by giving a topic that raised, (3) election of characters’ speech acts used so that the audience can enjoy the story that has basic components, namely: action, so this base is more widely used by the author in the honor film ‘Kehormatan di Balik Kerudung.

When common identities reduce between-group helping
No full textEmphasizing a common group identity is often suggested as a way to promote between-group helping. But recently, researchers have identified a set of strategic motives for helping other groups, including the desire to present the own group as warm and generous. When the motive for helping is strategic, a salient common identity should reduce the willingness to help another group, because the help no longer communicates a quality of the ingroup (only of the common group). The authors tested this hypothesis in two experiments, in which they assessed beliefs about helping (Study 1) and actual helping through behavioral observation (Study 2). The results fully supported the predictions, demonstrating that a common identity is not a universal tool for the promotion of prosocial behavior. The studies also illustrate the strategic nature of between-group helping, in which acts that appear prosocial on the surface are in fact intended to enhance the ingroup's image. © The Author(s) 2012
