PENDIDIKAN ISLAM MUSLIM MINORITAS: KASUS AMERIKA SERIKAT
Memperbincangkan negara Amerika Serikat (United States of America) selalu saja menarik dari banyak sisinya, termasuk tentang pendidikan Islam Muslim minoritas di dalamnya. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari karakater negaranya yang multi etnik-rasial, dan multi agama dan kepercayaan, atau populer dengan ungkapan the nation with the soul of a Church. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pertumbuhan masyarakat Muslim minoritas dan pola-pola pendidikan agama bagi Muslim minoritas di Amerika Serikat. Temuan penelitian dihasilkan melalui studi kepustakaan dengan metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan populasi Muslim di Amerika Serikat relatif cepat. Jika saat ini masih berkisar 4-7 juta jiwa, maka diperkirakan tahun 2050 akan melewati 8,1 juta jiwa. Pola-pola pendidikan agama bagi Muslim minoritas dilakukan melalui sekolah swasta berbasis agama (Islam), informal homeschooling, perguruan tinggi (universitas dan college), masjid (islamic center), dan organisasi Islam. Di antara isu kompleksitas tantangan pendidikan Islam di Amerika adalah model pendidikan Islam yang eksklusif dan konservatif berbarengan dengan adanya prospek Program pendidikan Inter-faith communities
POLA KERUKUNAN ANTAR UMAT BERAGAMA DALAM PERSPEKTIF FORUM KERUKUNAN UMAT BERAGAMA (FKUB) SUMATERA UTARA
<p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika pola kerukunan umat beragama (religious harmony) FKUB di Sumatera Utara. Untuk mengungkap hal itu, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan phenomenologic-interpretif, dengan meng-gunakan teknik pengumpulan data pada FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Penelitian ini mengajukan beberapa temuan. Pertama, idealita kerukunan yang dibangun oleh FKUB Sumut berpijak pada pola kerukunan non-pluralisme agama, yang berarti bahwa truth claim pada masing-masing agama tidak bisa disamakan karena memiliki landasan teologis yang berbeda. Namun dalam konteks sosial, kebenaran teologis tersebut tidak boleh dipaksakan kepada orang lain, dan setiap individu beragama harus mampu bekerjasama untuk kepentingan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara. Kedua, dalam penerapannya, FKUB Sumatera Utara melakukan dialog teologis, interaksi sosial, advokasi dan regulasi serta dialog interaktif.</p><p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The Pattern of Religious Harmony in the Perspective of Religious Harmony Forum of Sumatera Utara. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the harmony of the FKUB (Religious Harmony Forum in North Sumatra). This study uses a phenomenologic-interpretive approach, using data collection techniques in FGD (Focus Group Discussion). This research finds that: First, the ideal of harmony established by FKUB of North Sumatra is based on the pattern of religious non-pluralism harmony, in a sense that the claim of truth in each religion can not beequated because it has a different theological foundation. But in the social context, such theological truths should not be imposed on others, and every religious individual must be able to work together for the benefit of society, nation and state. Second, in its application, FKUB of North Sumatra conducts theological dialogue, social interaction, advocacy and regulation and interactive dialogue.</p><p><br /><strong>Keywords:</strong> agama-agama, kerukunan, pluralisme, FKUB, Sumatera Utara</p></jats:p
Konsep Pendidikan Islam Sebagai Upaya Terapi Rehabilitas Pasien Narkoba
This research is motivated by the concept of Islamic education as a therapeutic effort for the rehabilitation of drug patients. This research is a qualitative research. This type of research is a literature study or library research, which means a study carried out to solve a problem which basically relies on a critical and in-depth study of relevant library materials. a technique by collecting data through written remains, such as archives, including books about theories, opinions, postulates or laws, etc. related to research problems. The results of this research show that the concept of Islamic education as a therapeutic effort for the rehabilitation of drug patients includes prayer, fasting and remembrance. Prayer directly revives the spirituality of drug addicts, and one of the essences of prayer is to increase faith in submission and surrender to the giver of life. Praying directly will guide us to be better, the burden will be light, difficulties will be easy to face and problems will be resolved. Prayer is the material most emphasized by therapists for drug victims so that anyone who wants to get rid of problems can ask Allah for help with patience and prayer. Fasting is one of the therapeutic methods that can be applied to rehabilitation patients. There are five secrets of fasting that can be enjoyed, namely: a) Strengthening the soul b) Educating the will to be kind c) Making the body healthy d) Recognizing pleasure, and e) Remembering and feeling the suffering of others . Dhikr is an effort to get closer to Allah through the heart. It is hoped that the patient can feel directly the presence of Allah SWT and provide a spiritual experience that makes his heart moved and has a serious intention to repent and recover from drugs and become a person who is always close to Allah SWT. So the concept of Islamic education as a therapeutic effort for the rehabilitation of drug patients, including prayer, fasting and dhikr, is very effectively applied to drug rehabilitation patients
Character Building Through School Culture Development In The Senior High School Of Panca Budi Medan
This research aims to analyse the efforts of the character building of school culture based in Senior High School of Panca
Budi Medan as well as supporting factors and the termination. This research uses qualitative method with the research
site, namely Senior High School of Panca Budi Medan. As for the data analysis techniques using interactive analysis
Model Milles & Huberman is through data reduction, data display and data verification/withdrawal conclusion.
Determination of the subject using snowball sampling technique. Data collection techniques using non-participatory
observation, in-depth interviews and documentation studies. From the results of the study obtained a number of schools
culture that became the frame and base of character formation of students in Senior High School of Panca Budi Medan,
namely; 1) Religious culture, 2) honest culture, 3) clean culture and energy saving, 4) Culture of discipline. The
supporting factor for student character formation in Senior High School of Panca Budi is 1) family factors that emphasize
the role of parents in strengthening the habituation of good behavior to the child of what results have been received in
school; 2) The teacher's factors emphasize the teacher's involvement in shaping the student's character through education,
mentoring, and the example; 3) environmental factors that include the school environment and community. In supporting
the character building of the students, the school constantly engineered a conducive environment so that what the
students see, hear, and feel are supportive of character building. The Community's environmental support is seen from
conduciveness the daily behaviour of local residents in line with the values of characters obtained by students from the
school; 4) Learners ' factors that appear to be high in enthusiasm and curiosity in understanding the importance of
character value inherent in every activity that cultures in school. The inhibitory factor of students ' character formation in
Senior High School of Panca Budi is: 1) family factor, occurring in elderly people who are too busy working; 2) teacher
factors, more to educators who have not given the students an example; 3) Environmental factors, this occurs in the
environment of learners who are partially living in a residential that is individualist and free in association; 4) Student
factors, diversity of students ' cognitive development and emotion, especially students who are less able to understand the
values embodied in school culture
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Kompetensi Pedagogik dan Profesional Guru PAI dalam Efektivitas Manajemen Pembelajaran Agama di MAN 2 Model Kota Medan
This study aims to analyze the influence of pedagogical and professional competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers on the effectiveness of religious learning management at MAN 2 Model Medan. The research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 PAI teachers at MAN 2 Model Medan, covering aspects of pedagogical competence, professionalism, and the effectiveness of learning management. The results show that both pedagogical and professional competence of PAI teachers have a significant impact on the effectiveness of religious learning management. Teachers with strong pedagogical competence are able to create more effective teaching strategies, while their professionalism supports the overall success of the learning process. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the school continue to enhance the training and development of PAI teachers’ competencies to improve the quality of religious learning management at the school.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan pembelajaran agama di MAN 2 Model Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, disebarkan kepada 30 guru PAI di MAN 2 Model Medan, yang mencakup aspek kompetensi pedagogik, profesionalisme, dan efektivitas pengelolaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, Pertama kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru PAI memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan pembelajaran agama. Guru dengan kompetensi pedagogik yang baik dapat menciptakan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif. Kedua, profesionalisme guru mendukung keberhasilan proses pembelajaran secara keseluruhan. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini merekomendasikan, pihak sekolah harus terus melakukan pelatihan dan pengembangan kompetensi guru PAI guna meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan pembelajaran agama di sekolah
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
