Woodside Energy Ltd. Cossack Pioneer Facility Engineering Team
Cossack Pioneer is a floating production storage and offloading vessel located 112 km North West of Karratha. This report details the work performed during a 16 week internship with Woodside Energy Ltd working in the Cossack Pioneer Facility Engineering Team. This Perth based team provides engineering support to the production facility. The report incorporates a description of the facility and topsides process and discusses the systems used for process control.
The earlier work performed during the internship focussed on small engineering design and control system modifications for the instrumentation and control group within the facility engineering team. Partway through the internship focus changed and the challenging role of Facility Control Engineer for Cossack Pioneer was assumed during the absence of the facility Senior Control Engineer. The report provides discussion of learning outcomes acheived and experience gained during the internship
Critical points at infinity in Yamabe changing-sign equations
In the well-known paper [A. Bahri and J.M. Coron, Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 41 (1988) 253–294], Bahri and Coron develop the theory of critical points at innity and find the solutions of Yamabe problem via Morse theory. This is a very delicate problem because of the lack of compactness caused by the invariance under the conformal group. To obtain the desired results, one needs a careful analysis on the change of the topology of the level sets. In this work, the author continues to use these ideas and give a preliminary study of the topological features for the Yamabe sign-changing variational problem on domains of R3 or on spheres S3. One of key points consists to understand the Morse relations at innity based on the expansion of the energy functional in a neighborhood of innity. In particular, one study weather the relation ∂∞°∂∞ = 0 holds where ∂∞ is the intersection operator at innity. Although I could not understand completely the details, I believe such study is very delicate and the ideas and techniques developed could be also useful in the others context, in particular, some conformal invariant problems like Yang-Mills equations and harmonic maps. I recommend strongly the publication of the paper

Multilingual author profiling using svms and linguistic features
This paper describes various experiments done to investigate author profiling of tweets in 4 different languages – English, Dutch, Italian, and Spanish. Profiling consists of age and gender classification, as well as regression on 5 different person- ality dimensions – extroversion, stability, agreeableness, open- ness, and conscientiousness. Different sets of features were tested – bag-of-words, word ngrams, POS ngrams, and average of word embeddings. SVM was used as the classifier. Tfidf worked best for most English tasks while for most of the tasks from the other languages, the combination of the best features worked better
The action functional on dual Legendrian submanifolds of the loop space of a contact three dimensional closed manifold
The main object of my dissertation is the study of the action functional of a contact form on a three dimensional manifold. This is part of a long program started by Professor A. Bahri [3], [4] in constructing a contact homology giving information about the number of periodic orbits of the Reeb vector field, that is an attempt to approach the Weinstein conjecture for 3-manifolds. Even though it appears to be proved by C. Taubes in a series of paper (see for instance [39] for more details). Given a closed 3-dimensional manifold, we prove an S1 homotopy equivalence between a subspace Cß of Legendrian curves and the free loop space. This space appears to be convenient from a variational point of view, in contact form geometry and used in the approach developed by A. Bahri. Indeed, it is the right space of variations on which we study the action functional. In a second part we study the Fredholm assumption for a modifed version of the action functional on the variational space Cß. That is, whether the functional is Fredholm or not. We take here the text-book case-study of a sequence of overtwisted contact forms on the 3-sphere introduced by Gonzalo and Varela [26]. We show that the Fredholm assumption does not hold. This is done by studying the dynamics of the contact form along a vector field on its kernel. We also prove the existence of a foliation stuck between the contact form and its Legendre dual in the part where they have opposite orientation. In the last part we present an explicit computation of the Bahri contact homology for a sequence of tight contact structures in the torus. We also extend this result to the case of torus bundles over S1. The homology that we find, allows us in particular to confirm the fact that the contact structures are not isotopic since it has different values for each structure.Ph. The Implementation of the Qirâ’ah of Imam Abû ‘Amr Riwâyah Al-Dûrî’s and Al-Sûsî’s in Alwi Al Bahri Quranic House at Banjar Regency
Keywords: Qirâ’ah, Riwâyah, Imam Abû ‘Amr, al-Dûrî, al-Sûsî
The application of reading the Quran with various kinds of qirâ’ah began to develop with the existence of the Quranic House institutions study qirâ’ah in Banjar Regency. Apart from that, the Musâbaqah Tilâwah al-Qur’ân (MTQ) event also became an incentive for teenagers to learn the science of qirâ’ah. At Alwi Al Bahri has a unique another of learning and different learning process. The difference is the rules of which are immediately put into in reading the Quran.
This research aims to find out how to understand the model and implementation of reading the qirâ’ah of Imam Abû ‘Amr in the riwâyah of al-Dûrî and al-Sûsî seen from its rules at the Alwi Al Bahri Quranic House, Banjar Regency. The research used by this author is field research, which was carried out using a qualitative approach. The research conducted by this author was use to answer the abilities of the santri and santriwati in applying Imam Abû ‘Amr’s principles of qirâ’ah in reading the Quran and the opinions of the students regarding their understanding of the rules of the science of qirâ’ah that they learn this, and what are the obstacles in understanding and studying the science of qirâ’ah and what are the implications of learning qirâ’ah in social life.
This research includes the study of ‘ulûm al-qur’ân, because qirâ’ah is included in the branch of ‘ulûm al-qur’ân. According from the initial aim of the Alwi Al Bahri Quranic House, it was only to take part in the Musâbaqah Tilâwah al-Qur’ân event. The santri understanding of the qirâ’ah of Imam Abû ‘Amr, the riwâyah of al-Dûrî and al-Sûsî at the Alwi Al Bahri Quranic House Bahri only understands the aspects of how to read and pronounce the rules, even though in theory the santri do not understand them very deeply, even though the idea taught at the Quranic House is only a glimpse, the santri understanding of the rules of qirâ’ah can be said to be quite good as seen from the santri when reading the Quran uses the rules of qirâ’a
