Was sagt das leistungsmotivierte Verhalten über zukünftige Leistungen im Nachwuchsrudersport aus?

Es hat sich in Studien mehrfach gezeigt, dass die Leistungsmotivation einen bedeutsamen Einfluss auf Leistungsentwicklung im Sport hat (z. B. Coetzee et al., 2006). Sie wird deshalb auch als Bestandteil der PISTE von Swiss Olympic aufgeführt (Fuchslocher et al., 2016). Dahinter steckt die Annahme, dass sich die Leistungsmotivation sowohl positiv auf den Trainingsprozess als auch die Wettkampfleistung auswirkt (Zuber & Conzelmann, 2014). Im Nachwuchsrudersport wurde die Leistungsmotivation bisher aufgrund methodischer Schwierigkeiten nicht erfasst. Zur Talentselektion wurde mehrheitlich die aktuelle Leistungsfähigkeit sowie anthropometrische Merkmale beigezogen. In der Folge werden AthletenInnen beispielsweise mit einer kleinen Körpergrösse durch TrainerInnen oft unterschätzt und Kompensationsmöglichkeiten ausser Acht gelassen. Das Beispiel «Jeannine Gmelin» zeigt allerdings, dass körperliche Nachteile auch kompensiert werden können. Es interessiert deshalb die Frage des Zusammenhangs zwischen dem leistungsmotivierten Verhalten und der individuellen Ruderleistung.
Methode:
23 RudertrainerInnen (MAlter = 40.9 Jahre, Frauen: 17.4 %) haben das leistungsmotivierte Verhalten von insgesamt 77 AthletInnen (MAlter = 16.9 Jahre, Frauen: 29.9 %) mit LEMOVIS-I (Zuber & Conzelmann, 2017) im Frühjahr 2017 eingeschätzt. Das Leistungsniveau der AthletInnen bewegt sich zwischen regional und international (u.a. mehrere Europa- und WeltmeisterInnen in Nachwuchskategorien). Mit LEMOVIS-I können AthletInnen hinsichtlich ihrer Eigeninitiative, Erfolgsorientierung, Leistungs-bereitschaft und eines Gesamtskalenwerts verglichen werden. Zur Beurteilung der individuellen Ruderleistung wurde der 2000-Meter-Maximaltest auf dem Ruderergometer ausgewählt. Der Zusammenhang dieser Variablen wurde durch eine partielle Korrelation zwischen den Werten von LEMOVIS-I und der jeweiligen Saisonbestleistung auf dem Ruderergometer berechnet. Dies unter der Kontrolle des Alters und der Anzahl Trainingsjahre im Rudern.
Resultate:
Es zeigte sich ein beachtlicher Zusammenhang von r = .36 �(p = .003) zwischen dem LEMOVIS-Gesamtskalenwert im Frühjahr 2017 und der persönlichen Ruderergometer-Bestleistung der AthletInnen in der Saison 2017 (siehe Abbildung 2). Die Ruderergometer-Bestleistungen in der Saison 2018 korrelieren mit r = .25 (p = .052) in einem leicht verminderten Mass mit den LEMOVIS-Werten von 2017. Von den drei LEMOVIS Faktoren weist die Erfolgs-orientierung (r = .40, p = .001) den höchsten Zusammen-hang zur Leistung auf.
Diskussion:
Die gefundenen Zusammenhänge zwischen dem leistungsmotivierten Verhalten und der Ruderleistung auf dem Ergometer betonen die Wichtigkeit der Leistungsmotivation im Nachwuchsrudersport. Die Ergebnisse liegen somit auf einer Linie mit Studien aus anderen Sportarten (z. B. Coetzee et al., 2006; Halvari & Thomassen, 1997; Zuber & Conzelmann, 2014), welche einen positiven Zusammenhang zwischen der Leistungsmotivation und der sportlichen Leistung berichten.
Die Resultate sind ein Argument für die Verwendung von psychologischen Messinstrumenten im Rahmen einer multidimensionalen Talentbeurteilung im Nachwuchsrudersport.

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. The article answers the „why” Edward Małłek decided to sign with Evangelical-Methodist Church as a right place where Mazurian culture and spirituality would be preserved and nourished. In the summary of the text it is evident that pastoral ministry of Edward Małłek was a unique combination of community movement and the tradition of Evangelical Union Church exercised both in administrative and theological areas of Evangelical-Methodist Church.KS. "Closing the R&D Gap, Evaluating the Sources of R&D Spending"

Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
