Hygronemobius histrionicus Zayas 1976
Hygronemobius histrionicus Zayas, 1976 Zayas, 1976: 84, fig. 76. Otte and Perez-Gelabert, 2009: 106 Syntypes males and females, from Sierra de Las Casas, Isla de Pinos [at present Isle of Youth], Cuba. [PCFZ]. Distribution. Cuba. Notes. F. de Zayas collected these specimens at “Sierra de Las Casas, Isla de Pinos, Cuba ” in 1957 and he described this species in 1976 without designating a type specimen. We designate four syntypes (Article 72.3 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, 1999) males and females in the Zayas collection. These crickets inhabit “the marble hills” of the Isle of Youth. Recently they have been seen at “Sierra de Caballos” and “Sierra de Las Casas”. It is likely that this is the only population of these crickets in Cuba (L. F. de Armas, personal communication, March 12, 2014).Published as part of Yong, Sheyla & Perez-Gelabert, Daniel E., 2014, Grasshoppers, Crickets and Katydids (Insecta: Orthoptera) of Cuba: an annotated checklist, pp. 401-438 in Zootaxa 3827 (4) on page 416, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3827.4.1, http://zenodo.org/record/22858
María de Zayas’s novellas have traditionally been construed as feminist texts composed in defence of women’s strength and power. This article argues that, in Novelas amorosas y ejemplares (1637) and Desengaños amorosos (1647), Zayas was resolutely intent on celebrating the luxurious life of the Madrid nobility during Philip IV’s reign, precisely shortly after two royal decrees were passed to regulate the number of luxurious goods families were allowed to possess. This article will be divided into the three following sections: (1) Zayas’s aristocrafic profile and her relation to Madrid; (2) feminism and femininity in her novellas; (3) a textual analysis of her novellas, and particularly of Lisis’ story, demonstrating the extent to which they describe and celebrate the splendour and refinement of the nobility in Philip IV’s imperial court. This paper will conclude that in penning her novellas, Zayas sought to glorify Madrid’s nobility.

Rotating black hole entropy from M5-branes
We compute the superconformal index of 3d N = 2 superconformal field theories obtained from N M5-branes wrapped on a hyperbolic 3-manifold. Exploiting the 3d-3d correspondence, we use perturbative invariants of SL(N, C) Chern-Simons theory to determine the superconformal index in the large N limit, including corrections logarithmic in N. The leading order partition function provides a microscopic foundation for the entropy function of the dual rotating asymptotically AdS4 black holes. We also verify that the supergravity one-loop contribution to the log N term coincides with the field theoretic result. We propose a 3d-3d formulation for the refined topologically twisted index, and provide strong evidence in support of its vanishing — which agrees with the fact that the expected dual rotating magnetically-charged black hole does not exist. This provides an interesting link between gravity and a tantalizing mathematical result
In the short novels of María de Zayas, women’s trips –far from having a positive value– are characterized as dangerous incursions into a world dominated by greed, lust and deceit. Love escapes do not lead to autonomy from the abuses of the patriarchy, but rather, by staining honor, they have dire consequences. If being away from home brings ruin and the domestic environment can become a harrowing prison, the convent is the only refuge where the female community can protect itself from the perversions of men.
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Square Dancing with the Stars to Enhance Dynamic Hirschman Linkages?
In this Presidential Address, the author takes the reader on a reconnaissance of his life and time as a regional scientist. He points out scenery he found scintillating along the way, hoping that some may pick up the banner and chew on a few of the ideas for a while. He suggests a revisit to Albert O. Hirschman’s notion of key sectors and more empirical analysis related to Marcus Berliant’s and Masahisa Fujita’s notion of knowledge creation and transfer.Presidential Address, San Antonio, Texas, March 29, 2014 (53rd Meetings of the Southern Regional Science Association
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
